Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
Maxim I replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
I am working on a page for my Battle of Mpya Stedor (eurobricks link) and I suddenly wondered something: Is it possible that this is the first major battle in 101 years? As there was 100 years of peace before Victore started annoying us. And Victor took Cedrica by a trick (secret tunnel), so without besieging that city... Can someone approve this or have I forgotten an other major battle? -

Wow, this is awesome!!! Every little detail is so fantastic!
-
Like our beloved regulator said, the pictures are indeed too big The build itself is really adorable I love the interiors and the atmosphere it creates!
-
Really great build you made here SK!!! The outside & the interior are perfectly detailed But to be honest, I miss studs in the outside for me, Lego MOC's still need to have a lego feeling (read: studs visible) It's not something really addressed to you because there are a lot of (excellent) MOC'ers who try to hide every stud

The texture you gave it, made it have an "old" look, so it fits Albion very well Also great minifig posing! My 2 tips: - you should try to be more creative while taking pictures. If you, for example, took a picture in frog perspective, the wall & tower would look bigger Now (thanks to the bird perspective) it's kinda hard to believe this is 2 levels high (it looks like 1.5 or sth) - try do sth with the window to make it standing out for example. So not just a flat part of a wall

I already love that giant skeleton Wyrm face! -
Yiihaw, another Kaliphlin build using the Star Wars Planet!!! I really start liking that piece! The lay-out itself is also formidable! You definetely see that it is somewhere in Kaliphlin and the tower indicates that it is very near to Nocturnus The watereffect is really nice thanks your 2 diffenet shades you made from one (transclear) piece! Also the tower with the wooden balconies (I am not sure if I use the right word for that) is excellent!

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread

I wanted to celebrate post number 900 at the place where it really al began for me (let's forget some minor replies before I arrived here) and where most of my posts are made... I was thinking about giving some positive advice to all those who arrived here the past few weeks, but that will be for in 100 posts -
Thanks I know I will probably not win with this entry, but like I said, I really enjoyed building it @Si-Mocs: Looks like only good kids get the Mr. Cuddles in the Creator Set Allright, I admit it, for the Teddy Bear and for the running plumber, I had to cheat

Indeed very nicely done! It reminds me of the International Space Station set I had a few years ago... Now I think about that, where the heaven is that laying around? *runs away*

I love how you made those columns!!! Also a lot of other great details

these are indeed great! I wonder why you posted them here and not in Guilds of Historica ? Anyway I fear to disappoint you, but the siege tower is not high enough to siege my city I guess you will use these in a upcomming moc?

I am pretty sure that will not be a problem However I do advice you to sign in firstly in the Avalonia thread with your sig fig Keep my advice about posting pictures in mind (as I see that you still not have changed your post about claiming land)

Thanks! The whole wall & gate & tower will be presented at Brick Tricks in Tielt (in a modern city lay-out). Even it is not small, I fear it will be absorbed by all other buildings... There will be for example a tower of 1m, a rad (1.40 m), a big church (180x120 studs), some big stations, ... I'll have to try that next week! Thanks for the help! I had more the siege of Helms Deep in my mind when I saw the result (also with the mounted knights etc..) But it's an honour to be compared with such an epic movie scene!!! The posing of minifigs is in my opinion as important as the MOC itself It gives a more realistic feeling to the MOC and people who are watching it will look longer to the pictures (or the scene in exhibitions) I choosed to put the story in spoilers, as some people always skip the story and only look to pictures. It also shortened the length of the post I wanted to make sure your knight would be seen very easily I am really lucky my brother is an army builder. He creates really nice customised soldiers, but they are almost always around 5$... Me for myself, (except for the 20 Warriors with the Brickwarriors helmet on), I always try to keep the price of a soldier under the 2$. Thanks to Ebay this works I never saw the ponds of the Taj Mahal before now anyway, thanks for the compliment!!

Damaximus: First title was: "Working on a tall erection" => Probably because I was working on a giant tower I thought it was Si-Mocs who gave it, but recently I started suspecting ISC Second title: "Hippy kicker" => Given by ISC, the reason is Avalonia... You always have to blame Avalonia... Those treehugging, mushroom eating barbars! I really should kick those hippies (note: it's a Guilds of Historica thing )
