  1. The Summer Joust has started! For those unfamiliar with it, the Joust is a 2 month long castle building contest featuring 6 different categories and 18 prizes. Full details in the flickr group.
  2. Thanks! And that's how most of us start building, and is the reason John and I share these guides. As you build them you'll come up with your own modifications and soon will be developing your own techniques You're very welcome!
  3. Magnificent build! There are a couple things that really stand out to me: first the unusual roof shape as has already been mentioned, and secondly the way you used low stone walls to frame different areas of the build. The wall extending down and around by the water wheel is particularly cool Top class landscaping and stonework too! Hope to see more builds from you shared with us online
  4. Another absolutely mind blowing layout The composition and colors are fantastic, making for a super memorable scene I love how the stream winds through the landscape, and contrasts with the still murky depths of the swamp. Stunning castle with great wall techniques, and just the right amount of decoration
  5. Great seeing those 1x2 round plates put to use on such a grand scale! Very cool shading in the water, and the massive gatehouse is impressive
  6. Super cool wall with the timber framing - especially how you handled the battlements I didn't even realize it was based off our tutorial till I reached the end of the post The irregular base looks very nice, and I love the spiked posts mostly hidden by the thick foliage
  7. While I still have several old models that need posting, this is my first new GoH build since moving to Billund! Quite a simple scene, but I do like how the walls of the bridge flare slightly thanks to the 1x2 rounded plates. Eryl goes for a walk outside Harburg with one of the loyal family dogs following along. More builds to come
  8. Have been working on Summer Joust prizes, so I'll have some new free builds to post in June
  9. Alnya forever A very creative concept that should have been difficult to pull off in the bricks, but you managed it beautifully The dirt cutaways, landscaping, trees, and books are all fabulous. But the real stars of the show are the details crammed into the goblin tunnels - so many nooks and crannies that give a homey lived in atmosphere. Genius fireplace and chair designs too
  10. Super well done managing such a small circular building so smoothly! The entrance roof, wind-vane, and tree are my favorite details. Very nice mix of colors to create a natural looking landscape too
  11. Middle Eastern Tower Tutorial
  12. Very wild and unique landscape styles, that still fit well in Mitgardia Those spiky trees are super impressive, and it's also great seeing the printed birch elements used in your second model.
  13. First off congratulations on winning the challenge! The first interior might actually be my favorite of the scenes, as the composition, colors, and furnishings are all top notch! The large shield element fits perfectly, and I love all the food items piled onto the table. Glorfindel looks to have aged some with that gray hair The Golden Goblet (reference to the green goblet?) interior is also excellent, particularly your use of lattices in the wall. And of course the final ruins scene captures the eerie atmosphere perfectly. Good choice to really tone down the colors there, and have some moody lighting
  14. Well done making such quality figs so consistently, and it certainly made for very enjoyable viewing Highlights for me are the pastry stand, bretzel barrel, training dummy, bird feeder, bonfire, and of course the snowy tree. Loads of great little models that others could easily incorporate in their own scenes, and everything is distinctly Mitgardian
  15. @GunmanGood to see you around again man!
  16. Super! Great to have you back
  17. Good to see you post again man! The shop interior is nicely furnished, with plenty of weapon and armor options An easy way to improve cheese slope roofs is to layer 2 wide plates underneath the cheese, so that the slopes step together nicely.
  18. Oh goodness those terra cotta roofs and tree are gorgeous! Both the low wall and building make great use of the HP arches
  19. Lovely stone tower, and it looks even better being flanked by stables The triple windows on the upper story are especially cool. The huge snow drifts set a great Mitgardian atmosphere, and I always appreciate the work you put into interiors
  20. Always so much fun seeing your huge Mitgardian castles! There a couple unique things that I really appreciate in this one: first, how you did a combination stone wall with wood palisade around the bottom; second, the numerous structures built on arch and column combinations. Your signature corner stonework looks fabulous as always, and as cool as the NK shield roofs are, I might like the way you did drifted snow over them with wedge plates even better. The functions look super fun too!
  21. What a stunner Incredible shapes, and the combination of bley and white screams elven. Like Mike said, you managed an interesting combination of rugged strength and elegance in the architecture. The little shrine, large domes, and open gazebo are my favorite sections, but really this whole build is amazing. Would love to be able to see it in person!
  22. Posted another little free build:
  23. The cobblestone design was borrowed from Jonas Kramm. Sent off on another errand in Harburg, Eryl and Elise get some fresh eggs from a vendor in the town square. See more pictures on Brickbuilt. Been far too long since I posted a build here, but have been doing some new stuff for Mitgardia
  24. Congrats man! Have fun and show them all how it's done
  25. Lovely castle! The winding stairs leading to the entrance are a fabulous technique Nice work making the layout more interesting by incorporating height difference in the terrain too
