  1. Lovely little Avalonian vignette The hill works quite nicely and the tree is excellent
  2. Looking great! Nice to see a better glimpse of it WIP sharing has long been a tradition in the guilds, so feel free to keep us updated with your progress, or even ask for advice if you get stuck on a section
  3. And another freebuild: Quiet around here lately, you guys working on big plans for Challenge V?
  4. I mainly wanted to experiment with dark orange as a predominant landscape color for this build, and I think it turned out nicely. Credit for the tree design goes to Joeri Ridder. The mill does work, in that the oxen can be ‘driven’ around easily and the mill stone is driven in turn by them. Ox driven mills are one of the simplest mills, yet still quite effective. Most towns and villages in Mitgardia have at least one of these mills. "More barley to be ground, Ailin?" "Yep, will be one of the last trips for me though. Nearly finished with my harvest." More pics on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking
  5. Congrats to the winners! And thanks to Hinckley and all the participants for continuing to make a great contest
  6. So much to like about this build, everything in fact! I have to echo the others on admiring your Elvish architecture Great work pulling off the tricky transition from outdoors to inside the mountain via the excellent rockwork The water and landscape designs are amazing as well, inside and out!
  7. Wouldn't want to run into this messenger, well, his mount really Great critter, the olive green shell and insect like legs give a very unique look fitting to Nocturnus And I don't see any reason why this would be disqualified
  8. Wonderful griffon and it is always great to see the Spire sustaining heavy losses Nice little landscape to showcase your creature as well.
  9. Those pillars make for a wonderfully fantasy look! Wonderful parts use for the stairs too
  10. The story method you used here is quite effective. Great fig posing with the ambush too I'll have to remember that bush design, pretty neat
  11. Nice use of the loose studs water technique here, does give a nice flowing impression
  12. Great Mitgardian outpost! The ball joint use is really neat in the stonework Wonderful wintry landscape with the rocks, snow, and tree too And the winding path up from the dock works nicely
  13. The SNOT landscape works beautifully here! Good choice to add some dark tan rocks, and the bush and tree finish it off nicely That path steals the show though
  14. Thanks Alfadas! Thank you, LittleJohn I was quite pleased with how that bed in particular turned out. Thanks Kai I'm glad you like the use of the silver round plates in the stonework. Thanks Henjin! The blue teapot might be a bit out of place, though I was trying for the crowded/cluttered look of a store that offers just about everything. Thank you Thanks! Thanks Slegengr! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the edits, as they took me a bit of work Though of course, full LEGO backdrops would by much more impressive, maybe one day! Thank you, very good to hear you can see the Skyrim influence Thanks Titus! Thank you Garmadon, I'm glad you enjoyed the edits! Thanks Mike! Thank you, it is fun trying to utilize different colors.
  15. Thanks! And as Alfadas said, it's up to you which you prefer. Though yellow seems to be more common in Guilds of Historica. New freebuild:
  16. My first model of 2017, I have had the idea for this build for sometime, and finally found time to do it. The building is modeled after Bits and Pieces, the general store in Solitude from the game Skyrim. I used the same stonework design as I did in my Nordheim Farmhouse creation, though this time in dark bley. A tutorial for that technique is available. The rather complex layout of the building offered some challenges to recreate in LEGO, but I’m quite pleased with the finished result. It lifts off the base and hinges open to reveal the full interior. Previous story installments: 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Sigurd’s General Goods is the largest general store in Daydelon. It not only provides supplies, but is also a common meeting place for the people of the city. Today Glorfindel is met there by a Mitgardian courier. It had been two months since Glorfindel's distasteful run in with Lord Tuinis, and in that time Glorfindel had made several other more successful trips to lords and jarls in the area. He also made the journey to Valholl for a council of Parliament, and now was checking in at Daydelon before heading back to the border. "Greetings Sir, I bring word of the council's decision..." I tried my hand at a few photo edits with this build as well: As usual, there are plenty more pictures on our website. Did not make my goal of completing Age of Mitgardia last year, but now I'm only 3 mill builds away, so the end is near C&C appreciated .
  17. The curved slopes underneath arches makes a really nice combination Excellent border and swampy water as well, and a good mount for delivering messages quickly
  18. Fantastic skeletal look you achieved! Good to see the Avalonian colors in the base as well
  19. Lovely wall I like the little platform for the commander as well Looks like a sizeable group of warriors!
  20. 12 14 15 15 18 I'm impressed with the creative ideas for buildings this year!
  21. John and I do keep our collection organized by color and part, which makes it easier to find things as you need them.
  22. 1. I usually just plan my builds in my head. With a larger build, or something I'm having troubling imagining, I will sketch out the build layout on paper, or even with some plates. 2. Builds are always taken apart so I can use the parts for new creations, if it's something I really like/put extra work into, it stays together a little longer.
  23. Really fun and unique idea here, and it fits nicely into the Winter Village theme. I'm astonished by how smoothly you pulled off that roofline: inside and out! The various window frames are great as well. Featured on brickbuilt.
