  1. Apologies if I'm mistaken, but this seems to be a pretty-much exact copy of MyFirstMOC's post after he was told that he couldn't vote for himself. I would recommend that you change this simply because it looks as though MyFirstMOC has set up an alternate account in order to boost votes, especially since that account has the bare minimum of 10 posts, plus 1 more being the one you posted on this page. Even if you just changed the order of the entries or didn't vote for every single MyFirstMOC entry, it would alleviate the concerns of suspicious voters. However, this is simply my opinion, concerned for your best interests. Vote for whoever you feel has the best MOCs, and if it happens to be the same, so be it.
  2. Hi all, I've recently been making an adventurer's layout for my YouTube channel. I've done two modules so far, and am looking to expand. I'm thinking I'll end up including the following modules: - A jungle tree - A mountain temple - A jungle river - A cliff - A ruined jungle temple - A desert city What else can I add? I'm especially wanting feedback from those who have or had real Adventurers sets, which I don't. I've already built: - Jungle ruins - Jungle swamp - Desert Oasis (to be uploaded soon to YouTube) Below is a link the series:
  3. @Horation was omnipresent and had such a quantity helpful posts, like many others. But most of all, the work that went into providing running updates of the Creative Critic standings was unparalleled and greatly added to the competitiveness of the contest.
  4. Large Escape from the Imperial Trading Post by A_Goodman Captain Steve of the Revenant by Sebeus I Steves Hand Emporium by Bingowaldorf Small End of the Pier by Elephant Knight Mini Imperial Trading Post by SevenDeadlyStreamers Infamous Steve and the Fountain of Fortune by Juhlhaus
  5. Well done with such a triumphant return into MOC-building! We all look forward to what you will cook up next.
  6. Thanks for the feedback. I do agree, tan sand (and light blue ocean) would look better, but I have a constant surplus of yellow and dark blue, hence the choices. I was unaware of this, I'll look into it in the future. I thought you meant specialist photography lights.
  7. Steve is sneaking into a bluecoat fortress... He needs to be careful so they don't spot him... Who knows why he's going there... But for such a perilous journey, it must be important! Is that a barrel of rum I see? That would explain it. He's going to steal their precious rum, probably to sell in his trade as a merchant. That's how Steve does his trading - he steals goods and sells them under the guise of a merchant. Little do they know, he is a pirate at heart (hence the stealing). A last-minute entry into the Steve contest. Estimated 180 parts, built in an hour.
  8. Good innovation and a thoughtful inclusion. @Brendan McGnarley, you might want to hurry to 10 posts before the end of today if you haven't already, if you want to be eligible to vote for winners.
  9. Perhaps if we give everyone five votes or so to distribute them as they choose, or mandate a {3, 1, 1} allocation to one's three choices. Forgive the curly brackets, I've been doing too much set notation recently.
  10. Indeed, battle packs were great. Perhaps what Lego needs is the world's biggest (or close to biggest) Lego forum to tell them what we want... My solution to this is building MOCs inspired by the sets I don't have. As long as I have close-enough minifigures then it works fine.
  11. As far as I know, this is literally it. It's a one-man, no-trees island in the middle of the ocean. Expanding it would probably end up being placing this on a blue base plate. And perhaps putting more blue baseplates around that.
  12. Thanks, I was considering doing a second story (since this is a basement) to provide somewhere for the stairs to lead to. It's a bit late now though, I've already parted out the build!
  13. I like all of the hidden details. Well done. The only thing I'm unsure of is the palm tree leaves on the back of the boat. What are they meant to be?
  14. On the contrary, I think it is fine as it is. The area is meant to be being colonised and conquered, so palm trees would've been cut down and it wouldn't be too overgrown with that number of soldiers there.
  15. I reckon they all need some refining before you can sell them, particularly the last one. Also, I don't know if the ship can be any bigger: two stories is more than enough. Maybe add some minifigs as well?
  16. This is a very nostalgic build, well done. The depth of field in the photos add to this: it looks just like a set from the '80s.
  17. I'm sure they would be, I've seen plenty used, and its not as if these are going to be made into real sets or anything. This is a MOC competition, after all.
  18. Too true. Sadly, Lego seems to make less good cheap sets nowadays, and all the best designers are allocated to the big sets like Rivendell.
  19. Surely those rigging pieces would bump up the price significantly? Maybe consider using string or the rubber pieces like in the 3-in-1 pirate ship.
  20. What is the criteria for the 215? Is it a vote for the best critic or how is it awarded?
  21. Wonderful build! It's not a type of ship that I've seen much of before, but it looks great. Well done with the NPU.
  22. Great build, the sand green works well. One critique would be that the tiling looks a little too fancy with the black triangles. Perhaps these black triangles could be relocated to the roof?
  23. Great build, and its look to see how it connects into a larger layout. The cohesion is very good such that you can't even tell where one module ends and the next one starts. Well done! Is this made using your own parts, or are you ordering parts as you build?
  24. I've also been very busy recently. The gap is unnoticeable and well-crafted, and the apples are a great touch. A solid improvement! The apples add a lot to the story and the implied movement of Steve.
  25. Ignoring the sacrilege, great build!
