  1. Looks great, but I do agree with the others. The classic printed sail looks much better.
  2. Thanks @Mister Phes for not being evil (and for all the work and generosity you've put in throughout the whole contest). Do I need to send you a message to organise the prize, like you told @BardDandelion?
  3. I was thinking the same, but if not, a 25€ prize is fine too.
  4. If I'm not mistaken, I've hit 100 comments (or I've fallen short by just a few)! I'll leave it to the moderators to make the count though, but I eagerly await the answer...
  5. What do you think the author can do to hide them (and fix this issue)? I was trying to think of one, but struggling.
  6. Looking further, I've realised how much NPU there is. But one thing I don't like is the pirate flag in front of the other sail, it just looks a bit unnatural, like there are two sails on top of each other.
  7. It'll be a real challenge. I might focus on my other builds for now, but I'll keep it in mind.
  8. What is required for good walls is a lot of different, yet very similar, colours. For example, dark orange, nougat, medium nougat, dark red. These parts can be hard to get, making good walls inaccessible for many.
  9. The charm of a lot of these old sets is their originality. I feel that there's no point if the charm can't be preserved, but each to their own, I guess.
  10. That could work nicely. It would need a name plate and black stand, though, along with a printed tile with the specifications :)
  11. If the build is on a flat base (which it looks like it is), then it should work fine. Good luck with your modification endeavours!
  12. The purpose of the committee is to provide feedback. If the author doesn't want feedback, then why share the MOC?
  13. Lego always comes up with the best solutions. I guess it's because only the best is good enough ;)
  14. I've only just noticed that, but I do agree it looks a little strange. Also, it appears to be raised above the rest of the ocean, making it seem like an out-of-place puddle.
  15. Do you mean with Lego, or in post-production? Either way, it will be a challenge...
  16. I'm not sure if microfigs are required. Take the microscale Star Wars sets, for example. They do fine without. And the beauty of this ship is enough as it is, but it is your choice.
  17. I do agree with this one. But I think this short-term part production creates exclusivity, which creates FOMO for part collectors, which creates people buying more sets.
  18. As a series of sets, I think it is fine. Johnny Thunder is probably on a world tour, seeing the different continents, similar to his other expeditions.
  19. Even a slight lift at the ends of the ship would work too. Consider hinge plates or other hinges.
  20. 'Sally Ride' sounds tacky, and so does 'Jolly Roger' when I think about it. But this tackiness is offset by its popularity, so 'Jolly Roger' is acceptably tacky.
  21. I've just noticed the coral frog - what a peculiar inclusion. Is it a real frog? A piece of coral? Something else?
  22. Controversial opinion alert: I'm a fan of brick-built sails myself. The ones on the Creator 3-in-1 pirate ship were great, and they offer more versatility. But now that I think about it, I might prefer cloth sails... Any sails will do!
  23. Neither, but I didn't really have a choice. Same with the horn pieces: I wanted wave crests, but not loose pieces. Such is life.
  24. Or perhaps his hands were amputated after he served a disappointing meal to a pirate captain. They are notoriously ruthless, after all.
  25. Very nice build. The fish as a shark is very clever, since the small fish represents a larger fish.
