[VIDEO] MASSIVE LEGO Castle Display!!
Space Coyote replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Awesome collection! I'll give you a like and sub when I'm able to log back into youtube. Also if that intro is you that's a great riff. From one guitarist to another, kudos! -
Awesome work!!! I only played the first game but I spent enough time in that world that I was able to recognize how you captured the vibe of that universe so well. The lighting and camera work in your photos is outstanding! I'd love to see a moc of these guys doing some co-op exploration and battling in a diorama style moc, you certainly have the skills to make that happen. Very well done!

Thanks for the informative reply! You make a good point about fair use, and you are also right about the need for a better infrastructure to protect the individual's privacy and rights in regards to the data that's collected. Even a eula type notice on sites and apps that ai uses for data training would help.

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Space Coyote replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm sad that Deadpool 3 is too adult of a movie to get any tie-in sets. A small set with those two (Deadpool & Wolverine) would be an awesome way to get a Deadpool fig. -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Space Coyote replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
I feel like the balloon from that Peach set would be a bit small. Then again if they do it that way there will be more pieces dedicated to the building, which usually makes for a stronger set overall. I've been curious about this one a lot lately too! -
I love what you've done with the roof build, the sand green looks so good with the light brown walls. The elves are super endearing, those little bodies seem like they were meant to have those pointy little hats on them. Your build is a real delight!

I'm glad to hear it, the controls are a little weird to get used to but it's pretty fun. The classic space worlds are the most fun, it's fun to build bases and towers. Collecting all of the discoveries is addicting!

BioCup 2024: Galaxies and Magic
Space Coyote replied to Mohamed Marei's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Awesome work, the alchemy table has so many cool details used in ingenious ways, the little ice cream pieces are great for puffs of smoke. You usually see that technique on trains so it's cool to see you use that same technique in a cool inventive way. I love the color choice in the alchemy display. The bright colors contrast with the black so well. The astronaut figure is also excellent, he looks very fun to pose! Great detailing on his vehicle as well. Exemplary work! -
[MOC] Stingrays - crabot
Space Coyote replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great job capturing the spirit of the Stingrays with only a few pieces. I had quite a few stingray figs as a kid but not many vehicles for them, I would've loved having something like this, it looks very playable but also stylish. Good work! -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Space Coyote replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
I'm so happy they are offering a cheaper set to go along with the bigger one, that Santa's Delivery Truck would be a perfect stocking stuffer. -
Awesome! This has a great body shape, it looks vicious and stylish at the same time, and the intermeshed rotors is very unique, this feels like it would've been right at home on store shelves back in the day!

Great job with the lighting and clear piece placement, it looks perfect! Very dynamic and clever! The tiling is great and the little ladder up top is a nice touch that really makes it feel like you're in a pool. Kudos!

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Space Coyote replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
This business with the goat prices makes me not want to mess with PAB at all. The after market price really shouldn't influence their own. They are the creators of the piece, if a bunch of goat sellers lose money that's part of the risk that comes with being a re-seller. The goat's price being that high tells me they looked at Bricklink and priced accordingly. They could have sold it way cheaper and still made more than enough to make a good chunk of change. It's very well known that people want the goat, it's almost become kind of a meme at this point. They could've made a lot of people happy AND made money, those two things don't have to be mutually exclusive. -
Thank you so much for this information, I was finally able to use my photo and resize it correctly with this website. If anyone else has avatar troubles this site is definitely the way to go.

I see it now, thank you so much for sharing your technique with me, I really appreciate that!

Thank you for the clarification about the legality about the way this training data was collected. That's the part that makes me the most uneasy. This data was forcibly seized and then used to create a lucrative product. This does already happen a lot but the scale of it feels intrusive and bereft of any care given to the value of art. I would hate to see thousands of folks' beautiful mocs gobbled up and turned into sets down the line via a similar method. I think AI could be ok for maybe optimizing part usage but the data can't come from the entirety of the community it's drawing from without their consent. I'm trying to be open minded and positive about the value AI can bring to Lego and more but it's hard not to be a little creeped out by the way it was developed.

I clicked on this expecting a minifig scale build and usually that's what I prefer, but your build is so excellent that you made me glad it wasn't. Brick built humans are so hard for me to get right and I appreciate when someone knocks it out of the park. The raven is great and looks magnificent, clearly the star of the build, but man that wizard is so good it's easily my favorite part of the build. Thanks for sharing this!

You seem like a level headed AI supporter so I'd be interested to hear what your thoughts are about the issue of how AI learned to be creative enough to be used as an art generator - namely, the training data. Some folks feel this is close to if not flat out theft. The way I understand it this training data was fed to AI without the consent of the people who actually created the art. Do you feel like it's stealing, or does the end result justify the means. It just feels a bit unscrupulous to me, but I don't know all the details so I'd be interested to hear what you have to say!
-
Yeah it definitely looks better than it did before but you were already pretty close. This is going to be magnificent when you're done with the IRL build but take your time with that I'm sure it's been a huge project.

Amazing color choices here, those soft pastel colored pieces always steal the show in any build and you've used them very well here, the way one color of flowers blends into the next is very lovely to look at, great job!
-
It looks great! I think it's coming together very nicely. I'm glad you're still working at this, I especially like how the set's roof looks on your build, I can't remember if it was always like that but I'm just now noticing and it looks fantastic, thanks for remembering to remind me about this!
-
The vibes you've conjured up with this are unmatched - sinister, majestic, a kind of hauntingly fancy decadence. The human prisoner is a nice touch, and the vamp looks great, how the heck did you accomplish that resting pose with the legs at an angle? That's very impressive, very nice work all around!
-
To add to Murdoch's points, AI can't account for the qualitative factors of a set like playability and the build experience. It could probably make some decent looking scale models, but there's no way it can account for the factors that make Lego special. Now, promotional art or advertisements, I could see them using it for that. AI is a useful tool but it's not a shortcut to creativity.

You nailed all 3! I appreciate all the detailed pics and write ups. These almost look like Hot Wheels at a glance because of how solid they're built. I actually like the choice to use those driver bodies, very cool!
