LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Space Coyote replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If we get another Simpsons cmf series there is only one character I'll be watching for. Maybe he will make it in this time! -
[MOD] Knight of the Yellow Castle with a horse
Space Coyote replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's pretty cool! I got this same fig a few days ago from the dollar store, you've inspired me to try my hand at building her a horse as well. -
In YouTube are speculating about the end of yellow heads
Space Coyote replied to El Garfio's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Trying to say that this one picture of flesh toned heads means the phasing out of yellow heads altogether is a pretty big assumption. I can't see them ever fully abandoning it. If they did, it wouldn't completely ruin minifigs for me but it'd take some getting used to. It'd be like if one day the Simpsons were no longer yellow. -
I love how lively you've made this with only a few figs, each one has a ton of soul and personality to them. The simulated wood carving on the front desk is pretty brilliant! You've created a scene that is both cozy and lively at the same time, and that's no small feat!

I love it! The pentagonal windows are slick, and the satellite dish piece at the top is the perfect color choice. Nice use of the printed tile pieces. The tube going around the base of the dome is great as well, that teal color really pops. Truly masterful work!

[MOC] Lion Knights' Fortress in the Sea
Space Coyote replied to Sheps's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Excellent work! I can't decide which roof I like more! The all blue forestmen is a nice touch. I love the color scheme, I'm used to castles that are mostly grey with black trim, and this is a stylish inversion of that. -

Looks great man! Is there another version of the wing piece we could substitute that'll still kind of fit?- 13 replies

Music during building, yay or nay?
Space Coyote replied to Space Coyote's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I love both the Beatles and Lennon's more experimental stuff he did with Yoko, Plastic Ono band album is pretty great. haha you ever heard that song of his, Beef Jerky? It has a good riff but man that's a WEIRD song! I'm gonna check those two first bands out, yeah stuff like Maiden is a bit too heavy for me when building but I love me some metal while cleaning or gaming. Love putting on some metal while I play Diablo 2 lately. Mark is great, loved his work on Rugrats and the early Crash Bandicoot games. Matching your music to what theme you're working on is really creative, There's an acoustic album by The Sword that'd be perfect for a Castle village. Thank you all for your great replies! -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
Space Coyote replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Glad you are enjoying the franchise. The NES original was a formative experience for me and I've grown up alongside the series so Oot was a weirdly meta experience for me since I was right on the cusp of adolescence when it released and was thinking a lot about what kind of person I'd grow up to be. Have you tried Link to the Past? That's my favorite, I used a forest man as a Link stand in and would give him new dungeons to explore with my Lego once I finished the game, it was very fertile ground for my imagination to frolic in. A Zelda cmf would be cool but my ideal situation would be a wave of smaller sets and polybags. Lon Lon racetrack, Hyrule Castle Town, Mido's kokiri house, there are tons of locales from Oot alone that could make great, affordable sets. -
This is kinda reminiscent of how Nintendo can't stand fangames of any kind, and those are almost always labors of love and free to boot. At least in this case the judge seems to be trying to make an informed, nuanced decision and not just folding in favor of the bigger company. I'm curious to see the ruling, as it may set a precedent for the future, one way or the other.

Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
Space Coyote replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That looks so much better, he's way more imposing that way. -
You know I don't hate them either. It's kind of thrilling, you really only get one shot at application (maybe more than 1 if you're super careful) and when I nail it dead-center it's super satisfying.

You're right. I would happily give up being able to scope cmfs and have them kept behind the counter if it meant more availability for everyone.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Space Coyote replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Fair point about the white one, we've gathered all but the white tanks just from buying that alien pack, and let me assure you I browse ebay and get wide eyed every other night but a lot of the fair prices aren't in the US so shipping adds a lot to the price, or it can. Then there are other factors to consider, it could be the re issue or not, or be mislabeled as one but end up being the other. In a perfect world we'd get a revamped cmf series where you know what you're getting on the box, with a revolving door of new and legacy characters. People adore certain series and would buy them, not just classic space, but Adventurers, Ice Planet, Rock Raiders, I could go on, all of these have sizable passionate communities that would love to get their favorite characters again. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic but maybe it would be profitable. But I understand the reality that how things are already done is demonstrably profitable for Lego so they have no need to shake things up that drastically. I'd just like it if people could get the figs they want without any uncertainty or hassle. Maybe it's just that isn't the world we live in anymore. I'm sorry I lost the plot a bit with my posts here. I am a bit stoked for the d&d series and can't wait for an official image. I love dark fantasy but I'm the only one in the house that does so I probably will only get a few figs if I like them, but our collection is 95% space themed so there won't really be a place for some of them where they wouldn't feel oddly out of place. -

I want that badly as well. I missed the boat on the black spaceman with the improved torso print that came in those bricktober packs. There are tons of legacy characters that are hard to access so I really think a greatest hits cmf line would be just fine with me. I understand bricklink and PAB are options but even then I'd have to get 15 bucks minimum just to dodge the service charge on PAB, I'm rambling but my point is if I want to get a red, black, blue, or white spaceman I have to either jump through hoops or pay 30+ dollars on one fig. -
You know they did those Rock Raider fig boxes with the included figure printed on the box. Would Lego really lose that much money if people could just get what they want on purpose? Then again if there's one fig that becomes heavily wanted it'll be even tougher to find. You already see this now, it took me weeks to finally score my brown spaceman. So why not let everyone be on equal footing with this stuff.

Oh that's nice of you to clarify that, thanks! I'm still getting back into this and I'm still getting the hang of keeping all these details correct in my head. The last thing I want to do is inadvertently spread misinformation so I really appreciate your help!

[MOC] Dino fossil excavation site
Space Coyote replied to The Reader's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wish this had been a set when I was knee deep in my love for this theme as a kid. I love how as the build progresses it tells a story, excellent work! -
Thank you so much for the info, that helps a lot. It may just be a new thing they are doing for the codes for .com exclusives like the GWPs and such. Seeing as how Alien Pack is a website exclusive (I forgot to mention that in my review) it makes sense that it has the TX code. That bit about the TX code showing up fairly recently was especially helpful, I appreciate your help!

I am struggling to think of what to say that hasn't already been said, but regardless this is simply astonishing. You captured what my pirate sets looked like to me in my imagination while playing with them as a child, but you did it for real. The sheer scale and detail is almost mind-boggling, and the Mr. Gold as a pirate statue is the perfect cherry on top!

Series: A Brickish Space Comic
Space Coyote replied to Captain Settle's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
I have spent the last week reading this every night before bed, I usually only planned to read a handful but would end up reading dozens instead. Your establishing shots and lighting are so good, you create an immersive scene every time without fail. Another thing I love is how you take pre-established Lego Space lore but weave all the factions together with your own narrative. Speaking of the plot it's great, I'm genuinely invested in the investigation and the various characters' back stories. I also find the notes insightful and helpful, I really appreciate you saying what sets and themes were used for your scenes. Your writing voice is very good, character dialogue is snappy and the comedic timing has made me laugh irl many times while reading. I'm so grateful you are making this and I eagerly await the next issue! -
Excellent! That orange and brown go so well together, you captured the essence of the real thing perfectly, it looks stylishly vintage. I also like that it can seat so many passengers. The history lesson is also much appreciated, learning more about the history of what inspired your moc was really enlightening, thanks for making this awesome post!

Ben Blutzukker - Game of Life 🕹️
Space Coyote replied to Ben Blutzukker's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Great job, your animation is smooth and expressive. I love how seamlessly each game transitions to the next. All of the figs are perfect representations, it's hard to pick a favorite sequence because they're all great but man that Wolfenstein section was incredible, I don't wanna spoil it for others but the reference to a similar franchise during that part made me smile ear to ear. Capping it off with Tetris is perfect. I'm going to subscribe to your channel I'm excited to see more of your stuff! -
I have been quietly following this thread and it has been awesome. That post of the superman v batman statue got a good laugh out of me when it appeared. Firstly I think the new Batman sets are pretty awesome. We only have the budget for one theme this year but I've been tempted to get that new Batman polybag with the animated series fig. Second, Batman is the only superhero I really like, but I don't mind if Supe gets the spotlight for a bit either. If the Superman film does well isn't that a win for DC in general? In my opinion the Marvel movies have made superhero movies feel too homogenized but there is potential for comics to be excellent films, so I'd like to see DC pick up the slack and save the day, even if it's not with a hero I'm particularly attached to.
