Anyone still playing Lego Racers?
Space Coyote replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I want to check this out some time, our pc we had when this came out wasn't meant for gaming so I missed out on this one as a kid, I may have to check that website out, thanks for that! Also I just finished the story mode of Lm2 and I had a lot of fun with that one, I think I'll enjoy lego worlds when I get it later but in the meanfime I may have to finally give this racers game a try! -
I've loved the classic spaceman ever since I saw a set of them on the shelf at my aunt and uncle's house in the early 90s when I was 3 or 4. I don't know if I could pick a favorite color. If it has to be one I own then it'd be the brown spaceman and the baby, they remind me of my son and I, although he's getting old enough now where he needs a medium leg fig to represent him, the space baby will always remind me of him.

Yeah the new galaxy explorer provides so much potential for original creations, I can't wait to get my own to crack open and tinker with! Anyway your vehicles all look great, they really look like they could be released as CS 2.0 sets or something! I'm very intrigued to see where your building goes and how it develops. I would be nervous about the 3 baseplate situation as well. Is there a way you could use the building's foundation to try and re-inforce the areas where the plates are connected? That's what I'd try to do anyway. I'm sure you'll do fine, I'm eager to see your progress on this for sure!

I love the original theme and color choice! Your build for the clouds is great as well. This feels remote, but lived-in and cozy at the same time, and you achieve all of that while also making it fantastical, it's not easy to do so much and still feel so cohesive but you absolutely nailed it!

I just wanted to share my thoughts about this set. We got it in the mail today, it's a wonderful little set, each alien creature used the unique pieces in creative ways. It's a perfect set for families, my wife, son and I all took turns passing the booklet with each new build. Getting a classic white spacewoman was a nice bonus, is this the first time one of the classic style astronauts has been explicitly shown to be female? Very cool either way. Her airtanks are black, which was an odd choice but it helps her stand out. I understand the white tanks aren't in production so I'd rather get some in the "wrong" color than not at all. Her buggy is a small, simple build, which can hold one of her two accessories (a dark gray wrench and black walkie-talkie). The terrain build is modest but effective and pairs nicely with the other terrain builds included with some of the new space sets. You get 181 pieces for 14.99 usd, really not a bad deal, and it feels like you're getting a lot more than you are just because there are so many builds, I was surprised by how thick the instructions were! I can't recommend this set enough!

It'd be easy enough to modify the Blacktron mutant to be a more modernized non mutant version, as long as you're willing to settle for plain white legs. All I'm missing is the trans green visor. Also every store in my area is already completely sold out of the new cmfs, I don't remember the last few series getting cleaned out this fast. I managed to find the last Nurse Android in a pile of six of them that were left at wal mart. Glad I finally got the scanner to work, connecting to the store's wifi was all I had to do.

I love everything about this, and nice use of the lunar baseplate that really breathes life and depth into it. Your style of doing the space structures is really cool. I feel you've done a good job honoring the source material while also making it your own.

Thanks for the heads up on the new spaceman color vote, I will wait to decide on a color until I see what choices there are. Very exciting news, the set is interesting in its own right as well! -
[MOC] Classic Space X1 Patrol Craft 6861 modernized

Ah that is true, I just recently started brushing up on Classic Space history since it's a little before my time (space police was my first theme I owned my own sets of,)I forgot about those sets you mentioned even though I just recently watched a review of the solar-powered base. Glad I could give you some inspiration either way! Iād love to see you do something like this for Ice Planet in the future! -
Dodge RAM 1990

Incredible! The truck bed is definitely the highlight for me, immaculate tile placement and choice! The entire thing is almost uncanny with how accurate it is, I also appreciate the real life comparison pics. Kudos on the engine as well! -
[MOC] Classic Space X1 Patrol Craft 6861 modernized

Excellent, you captured the soul of those old sets perfectly, while also adding a bit of unique flair with the green windshield, it evokes an air of this being an updated model, maybe modded out with parts bought second hand from a retired Space Police cruiser or something, very cool! -
I've loved Lego ever since I was very young, I had to part with my collection about ten years ago, but my son and wife's interest in the new space sets this year got me back into it. I've never really been part of a Lego community before but this place seems like a great one full of neat ideas and discussions, and I couldn't help but join!

I think it was maybe a wifi problem, we are definitely going to try again, we are really enjoying the new space theme, that's what got us back into lego this year, our son loves the new space sets (we got him both the smaller ships and the small mech and he plays with them every day, we are building a small moon base and having a lot of fun with it, and the space cmfs fit right in!)

My wife and I found the new cmfs at wal mart today, but we couldn't get the bricksearch or jay's brick blog scanners to work, we took our chances on two of them blind and managed to snag Orion and the UFO guy, which were the two she really wanted. The case was already almost half empty by the time we got there (like 2 pm).

Lego worlds has an entire dlc pack focused on classic space, I haven't played it yet but it looks like you can unlock all the classic spacemen and some vehicle builds, I'm pretty excited to get it but waiting on a sale, you can get the main game for under 10 bucks digitally and the space pack is like 4 dollars full price.
