  1. Toys R Us is the only place I've been that consistently has stock. Walmart has little to nothing. Target is only marginally better. TRU has most if not all the sets on shelves. No markup either, if I'm not mistaken. Or, y'know. Use the thing that's only a few steps away. The magic of the internet! :P
  2. Speaking of boxes, what's up with Constraction boxes anyway? Ever since Slizers they've been weird in comparison to other Lego boxes. Slizers, RoboRiders, Bionilce all had canisters. Hero Factory had bags. Bionicle G2 has Hexaboxes. Is it just tradition or are they like that to stand out on the shelves? Genuinely curious.
  3. I kinda phased out of Ninjago in recent times, but wow. The Samurai X cave looks sweet. And that skull is incredibly built. NPU with Kopaka's shield as the mid section of the skull! Also, is it just me or would this set be excellent to modify into a Batcave?
  4. Huh... Yeah, I think I can get behind that. UtD ain't so bad. Very monstrous. Still curious to see what he looks like as a quadruped. I just think that'd look neat. Also really enjoying the design parallels with UtH. Like, the legs are very similarly built and share design aspects. It's neat. Definitely an evolution from the previous incarnation. I can dig it. I'll probably be picking him up.
  5. I wouldn't worry too much about the Flea Machine. It's alright, but considering it's a tripod, posing capabilities are limited. I still recommend Evo XL. The only knock being the ankles (or lack thereof), but the rest is spectacular. Nice, big, and bulky. Splitter Beast combined is totally worth it. Considering he's mostly black, the pieces blend together so you can't really tell it's a 2-in-1. And the smaller beast's limbs can be arranged in a variety of ways to suit your preference. Agreed here. I can't remember who did, but I recall someone making an alternate, humanoid mech out of the parts of Evo Walker. Made the set completely worth it. I'm going to need to hunt that down later...
  6. Splitter Beast is cool. 2-in-1 sets are always pretty fun. Tunneler Beast is great especially for the size that he is. I'm also fond of Crystal Beast. A pretty straight-forward design, but makes up for it with the trans light blue (though by today's standards, that's nothing special). As for Mechs, Furno Jet Machine is aces. I'm also partial to Evo XL Machine, but the lack of ankles may irk you. Rocka Crawler is also very nice; a small but effective set much like Tunneler Beast. Queen Beast is also a nice set. Maybe a little pricey? But it is the big bad of the wave, so it might be nice to have in your collection.
  7. Yeah, I figured. So it was no surprise that I found nothing at TRU yesterday. It's all good, though. I'm in no rush.
  8. Man... That function. I'm tempted to get him just for that. Actually, if I get any Beast, it'll be him. He looks decent, and has a cool function as well.
  9. So... They're out? Sorta? I don't know where he got them. Only skimmed through the reviews so I don't know if he mentioned it. I guess it could be one of those cases where a store puts out stock before their supposed to. I'll be out and about tomorrow after seeing Captain America. I'll report back if I find anything.
  10. Sure that's a possibility, but you still won't be able to keep it shut. :/ I want the option of displaying the Beasts with closed mouths. Y'know, so they're not all just standing there gawking at whatever.
  11. He's alright. But not a priority. Really my only issue is the legs... Yeesh. But overall, he's nothing too special either. That jaw kinda sucks too. I'd rather he (heck, all the beasts for that matter) could close his mouth. Ditch the mask-pop-off feature entirely and give me snappy jaws!
  12. Gosh darn hi-res pictures making me want these sets. I may end up getting Ekimu. He's not looking too bad. And Umarak's looking pretty cool too. I was interesting in Lava Beast. I'll put him on the back-burner (ha!) and decide later. Quake Beast still doesn't interest me... And I may actually have to get Storm Beast just for that function. Looks pretty boss. Also, still curious to see how the jaws work. Do you hit the jaw up or open it wider to knock off the mask?
  13. Neat. But I can't say I'll be getting any. Not really excited for this wave. Though I'm really interested in seeing Storm Beast's function in action. Don't believe we got footage of that have we?
  14. I see your point. And I'm still in the boat that says the continuities are separate. But there's one interesting thing I find: The Vahi is the only mask to bear a name (granted, that's from a long time ago, and it's now the Mask of Time, but whatever). All the other masks are simply named based on their power (Mask of Fire, Mask of Creation, Mask of Ultimate Power, etc.). I just find it strange that the completed version has a name while all other masks do not. Can't say that's any good evidence for a connection. But at the very least, it's a nice bit of trivia.
  15. Thanks, Junior! And wow. I love how tribal it looks. And a G1 connection seems more and more like a thing. I still would prefer the continuities to be separate, but I guess it could work... Somehow... I like it. Can't wait to get it in set form. And really hope it's designed to fit the Vahi on bottom. That would be the greatest of all hidden features.
  16. Can someone mirror the image here? I'm at work and can't see it. :/
  17. Wow, this is lovely! I almost wish the actual sets were colored like this instead of the garish colors they currently have. The building just looks so warm and inviting. A nice, peaceful getaway after a hard day adventuring. Also love how the trees are integrated into the building. Like they're natural supports. Just increases the fantasy feel.
  18. Ooh! A Griffin would be excellent. Considering Ninjago's pretty much got the Dragon front covered, a Griffin would be a nice breath of fresh air. Maybe like an aerial version of the Robo Horse.
  19. My God... It's like... The regular version couldn't handle all the cuteness, so it had to be bigger. Also, I think the eyes could use more sparkle. One each just isn't enough.
  20. I don't know considering his crystal add-ons are clear. But y'see, Onua doesn't have any crystal blades to begin with (neither does Terak), so translucent blades still feels like it could've been an option for everyone else.
  21. It doesn't bother me too much. I think they could've looked pretty rad if they were translucent/transparent, but I can't complain. What really bothers me is how flexible they are. Over half of the crystal blades I've gotten have been warped or bent when I got them out of the box. I'm sure a little heat-treatment can bend them back straight, but it's still an annoyance.
  22. Augh! They're all so fantastic! Mysto is easily my favorite of the wave. Heck, maybe my favorite of the line. Absolutely loving the facial hair and hat. Still love how Sweepz is a rat. That's cute. And "Myke." Love that name. So, do we know which ones come with Nixels? I feel like I ask this all the time, but it determines the order I purchase the figures.
  23. Well, I guess I'll give my thoughts on the anime I'm watching this season. I'm watching a lot, and I don't feel like discussing all of them. Highlights, though, include (in no particular order): There's others I'm watching, as I said. These are some of the standouts. So far, this season's looking pretty great. But I think out of all these shows, Bungo Stray Dogs takes the top spot. I have found something to fill that Blood Blockade Battlefront-shaped hole in my heart.
  24. Mmmm... Lewa's. With an easy mod. I ended up taking the friction joints from the ankles (because I hate ankle friction joints) and moving them to his elbows. Makes his arms just slightly longer, but makes a world of difference in my eyes.
  25. How is Gali? If I end up completing the collection (at this point it's likely), she'll be my next purchase. I guess this question really goes to whoever owns her.
