  1. Now the instructions for #60469 are available I have built a facsimile from the bricks in my collection. Bit of a dog's breakfast but it is correct in all the main details, apart from the main arch. I made my own version of the transparent canopy on the left. I wanted to test if it would work on my layout with a curve before and after the station. My grandson added a few details, like the white station clock and the window cleaning cradle on the right. It works well for 6-wide trains but 8-wide trains catch on the left hand side rear corner so I had to move the wall back one stud. Otherwise the clearance is fine. In terms of height, the car transporter from the Freight Train set #60336 (which is 8 wide) with the car on top just fits. Now I know it works I might invest in the actual set. I might even get two. As my grandson pointed out, how do passengers get from one side to the other? With two you could put two sets "back to back" and have a lift both sides with a bridge across, rather than a control room, and maybe add an intermediate stop on the lift to provide access to the mezzanine cafe!
  2. Especially like the red turbo version.
  3. Love the vintage lorry. Already looking for the pieces!
  4. I use Xtrkcad on my Windows PC but it also works natively on Macs, or so it says. It has a library of every model railway scale and track pieces you have ever heard of, including Lego. https://sourceforge.net/p/xtrkcad-fork/wiki/Home/
  5. From the MARVEL theme there is this new subway car https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/spider-man-vs-doc-ock-subway-train-scene-76321 Some nice light blue gray pieces in there. Available 1 August, you can pre-order.
  6. Amazing. I had to check it was Lego and not the LGB model. A masterpiece of brick building.
  7. I think most people use flickr for hosting pictures. It's free for up to 1000 images.
  8. No harm in seeing it twice, it is a wonderful creation!
  9. Great build and equally great video. Very robust construction. I'm glad you let kids play with it at the show, play is what Lego is for after all!
  10. Hi, I asked the same question about a month ago, see this response from @Blacktron2 in this thread on April 26. The info is from BrickTap. And as TLG about to release another train on June 1 with PuP hub, motor and remote, it seems unlikely to me that TLG will ditch PuP this year or next.
  11. I've been working on a plan to incorporate the new Central Train Station #60469 into my layout. The idea is it will be a low relief station frontage, with the front of the trains appearing from "behind the scenes" until the front of the train or loco is visible. Once it has stopped for a few moments it will move on. This way hopefully you won't notice the station platform is only 20 studs long! Picture below shows a plan view with 16x16 grid in yellow and the outline of the new station in red, as best I can determine from the set pictures. There will be a road leading up to the station, and a tram track alongside the road which will terminate behind the station frontage. For some reason the new train set #60470 (which I don't think I'll be getting) is available to pre-order from lego.com but not the new station?
  12. Love it. Lots of detail to admire. I wish I had room for it on my layout.
  13. Another excellent rendition in micro scale. You're getting the hang of this!
  14. The blurb and pictures on the lego.com site about the Explorers' Arctic Polar Express Train #60470 confirm that it will use Powered Up City/Smart Hub, Train Motor and Remote Control, and there will be a Powered Up app update for this set: "Powered Up playset – Kids operate the model train locomotive with the remote control or a smart device equipped with the LEGO® Powered Up app."
  15. Thanks Thorsten!
  16. The Explorers' Arctic Polar Express Train #60470 is now on lego.com https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/explorers-arctic-polar-express-train-60470 As is the station #60469 https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/central-train-station-60469
  17. FYI I have updated this book to include all Powered Up hardware including retired products, SPIKE Education and WeDo 2.0 products. It is available as a hardback book from Amazon in most countries. This is the UK link. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CYQ6DKM1 As before, for Eurobricks members, there is a free PDF download version 2.0 from Google Drive which is identical to the printed book but includes an advanced section in the appendix. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1A13NZT1zFuuT7NHhpXVpuWpJejwbTLUf/view?usp=sharing Long live Powered Up!
  18. Beautiful detail. I like the soldiers skateboarding down the street! The night scene is very atmospheric. Top job.
  19. I don't think you can beat your 7 year old self up for choosing what you now think is the "wrong" set! (unless you're only 8? ) I'm sure it was right at the time
  20. On page 6 of the 1980 12v train ideas book #7777 there are instructions for building simple railside cable tidies. A 2x2 round plate on top of a 2x2 round brick held in place with a 4L Technic axle. The wires are held between the plate and the brick. Search for "lego 7777 pdf" and look at page 6. The rest of the book is full of good ideas as well!
  21. Hi there. I completed your survey yesterday. There is a bug in the question about what kind of sets do you buy, listing 4 or 5 themes and "other". It would not accept me just selecting "other" so I had to select one if the themes that I don't normally buy. That's going to invalidate the results of that question.
  22. No, take another look, you're referring to Small Hub Battery which is for the SPIKE Education small hub. The City Hub used in trains has a revised retirement date of 2030.
  23. Clever use of the 1x2 grille piece for the keys and strings. Excellent model.
  24. Thanks @Blacktron2 that's very interesting and makes a lot of sense. One anomoly is set 88005 (PUP lights) which it says has a new retirement date end of 2030, but is still marked as retired on lego.com, although it continues to be shipped as a part in non-retired sets. Are sets ever "unretired"?
  25. Amazing work. Not sure what is more impressive, the trains or the scenary. The abandoned buildings are superb. I love the broken windows and the vegetation creeping through the ruins. Top job.
