LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
ForgedInLego replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I guess I got lucky, ordered at around 5:30 AM and my stuff came in last night. All my previous Lego orders took at least hat long just to get out of the warehouse! Not at all disappointed with the DSII now that I have it built despite not having a fig, its an excellent little build kind of in the same midi style as the Executer. The other GWPs are just ok -
A good start is to get lighting that lines up with the background, after that play around with filters and saturation until it looks half decent

[MOC] Arquitens Cruiser by TapirTech - WiP

You might want to try using part 95199 with binoculars attached to get both barrels in a smaller turret, but the handle could get in the way of elevation -

Just noticed the 8x3 wedge plate in the UCS X wing, thoughts on this being (at least partly) made for the UCS Venator? -

Personally I'd prefer dual molded legs as long as they can get the opacity right (unlikely, esp for white) more because of longevity. Most of my 2014 and later kamas are in pretty terrible condition now -

Well, I was just starting a gunship MOC, so I guess that's on hold for now, unless the set ends up being the mostly red CW style. I'm excited for the Venator though, my YT channel was built on capital ship MOCs, so once we hear what scale its in, I'll start building a fleet of Munificents, Providences, Acclimators, etc. Might even mod the set to have a full interior, especially if the hangar bays can't open. Shame we'll have to wait till October. Wish there was some way to army build droids, but as someone who owns 30+ regular B1s I think I'll live. I'm glad people who want the 332nd and the ghost have sets, but personally I'm not interested, even though I enjoyed s7 and Rebels. -
[MOC] Obi Wan's Eta-2 Actis Interceptor

This has got to be the best ETA-2 MOC I've ever seen, I really love the slightly trapezoidal holes in the wings and how the angled grills fit together on the tips! -

You're probably outta luck, but I think your best bet is Barnes and Noble. I've seen it in stock after retirement, but I haven't checked in a while -

I'd also prefer AOTC if I had to choose one, its a lot easier to get a couple white plates and some hinges than specialized printed bubbles. Of course this is an oversimplification, there are the differences with the arches and stuff, but still. Fingers crossed we get an accurate p1 pilot helmet and a captain if / when we get a new gunship -
Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I think it has more to do with the age ranges, the Brachiosaurus set is 9+ and Nedry's set is 6+. They do almost entirely straight up and down building for the younger age ranges. The headlight setup is also slightly different, but I think if you can get the brackets and put the stickers on 2x6 tiles you can easily mod Nedry's Jeep to the more advanced one -

I really like the jeep build, especially Nedry's where they switched out a couple of pretty common lbg parts for brown to simulate mud, but the canvas cover seems a bit thick (maybe they should've moved the airplane window forward a stud? Not a huge deal, I can look past it) Gonna have to wait for reviews for everything else though. Kinda funny, it looks like the Brachio color scheme is based off a toy in JP3 that Ellie's kid is playing with (light gray w blue markings) rather than the actual dinosaur (tan / dark tan) -

Everyone keeps saying "Palps being brought back was dumb, that's why the sequels are 100% being retconned", but look at the plot going on behind the scenes in the Mandalorian and TBB. The whole reason anyone is looking for Grogu is because Dr. Pershing (a cloner) needs force sensitive blood. TBB on the other hand shows a lot of focus on imperial cloning research and experimentation. Almost feels like this is leading up to something.... -

Executer looks fine, I agree that it should have been sloped at 1x4 instead of 1x6, but mostly because I'm thinking about starting a project that's gonna need a lot of 2x4 wedges.... Price should have been $60, but with all the price hikes recently its not exactly an outlier -

Honestly I'm excited for the UCS X wing, its one of, if not the most iconic spaceship in all of science fiction, of course it deserves a UCS slot. The Luke minifig looks perfect, and if they do include an R2, it will almost definitely have back printing. I believe this will be the first (of many) Star Wars UCS to include a printed nameplate, and while I'm ok with stickers for some of the panel detailing, that windshield was awful on the last one. I'm happy to see a good UCS under $400, this is getting ridiculous. -

I think it would be cool to see the dark red speeder bike from the preliminary animatic instead of a BARC here, after all the snail tank was in the 2013 Geonosis wave even though it only showed up there in the animatic. It's also why the 2003 AT-TE had the dark red speeder bike -

For that price and low part count it better have 4 figs and 2 droids, the 501st bp costs $5 less and has more parts. Yes part count does not correlate exactly to value, but we have nothing else to go on Ideally it would be Bly, Aayla, 2x 327th, and 2 B1s I've given up on cloth kamas at this point, but still holding out hope for cloth pauldrons. -

Hey guys, I just logged i... *spoiler so image doesn't take up page space Anyway, I think the 327th is more likely for the swamp speeder, Lego really wants to use those new helmet holes as much as possible as every set to include the new helmet has had at least one accessory (small sample size, but whatever) -

I think they are trying to spread out big news over time, we just had some massive leaks and Rivendell just got revealed. Once traffic to those news sites dies down from all that, we'll get the summer list. -

Two N-1s in the span of about a year? Interesting, my guess would be 75362 ($70 September) since that is the only leaked set number that has about the right price, but of course 75361 could still be its own set. I would also guess the sail barge is the $200 September UCS, but that's just based on the leaked model not looking too impressive. -

Did someone else get a similar survey and leak the photos? if JeanGrey didn't leak it, who did?
