  1. That Droideka is coming out at the perfect time, I was just about to post about it in the wishlist thread! I've searched around for the technic one a year or two ago, they weren't too expensive, but the over reliance on unique colors and 20 year old rubber bands changed my mind. Super Battle Pack has me interested, more B1s, I love the little guys!
  2. 501st** battle pack #4 confirmed? If its a droid vehicle like a Hailfire or its shinies (P1 or P2) or its B2s I might get it, but oh my god. ** the 332nd is orange flavored 501st, fight me
  3. I've had a rubber band instead of a cape before (75256), but those come in the same cardboard box thing. Other than that Lego has been pretty good, I have had several missing parts in a Mega set, but their customer service (in my experience) is better than Lego's
  4. UCS Venator (projected): 40" long, 19.3" wide, 9.4" tall (not including stand, add 3-4") Brickvault Venator: 43.3" long, 20.5" wide, 14.6" tall (with stand) UCS Star Destroyer: 43" long, 26" wide, 14" tall (17" with stand) Used Wookiepedia for estimated proportions so people can get a head start on finding room for this monster :)
  5. YES!!! I've made some vaguely ETA-2 shaped ships that can fit a minifig that are only 10 studs wide, this is just about the minimum size where they might be able to fit through the hangar doors (dorsal, port and starboard) with some modification of course. Luckily I have room in my apartment where the UCS Gunship isn't taking up too much space, so I'll be able to display it no problem. Yeah the kama could be better on Rex, but still 100% going to camp out on release day for this one :)
  6. Bought a bucket of parts off of Facebook and....... "We were on the verge of greatness, we were this close" Got my money's worth, but still, sooo close
  7. Just wait for another 501st battle pack 2 electric boogaloo situation where we have in hand reviews before the reveal :(
  8. Ghost and Phantom looks good, IMO an improvement over the original in almost every way (still not happy with the price, but oh well). Are those windscreens in the new trans black color?
  9. I'm gonna reserve my judgement for the official reveal, not too impressed yet
  10. That's impressive, having such a large rotating wing section with fuselage on both sides? Not easy!
  11. Yep, talking about the kama sorry for the confusion, not sure how else they would get the color change all the way around the back of the legs without dual molding or bringing back the cloth pieces
  12. That looks amazing! The single point stand makes it look super sleek, but you may want to make it easy to adjust the position of it fwd or aft in case you don't nail the center of gravity on the first try, it'll help a lot once you build it IRL.
  13. Judging from previous UCS sets (Landspeeder, X wing), I think there is a good chance that the Venator Rex will have dual molded legs while a cheaper set with Rex later down the line will have the legs like the TSS design, keeping the expensive fig unique or whatever. I'm not seeing a return of cloth capes, IMO their durability is worse than the paint on rubbery parts.
  14. Wow, those wings are impressive! Amazing how you can switch stud directions so many times in such a small space
  15. Submitted! Had a lot of fun building and editing the pic, I need to do this more often.....
  16. Grand Admiral Thrawn has finally made his return to the Imperial Remnant with squadrons of the most advanced starfighter the galaxy has ever seen! But is it too late? Recently moved and all my parts are a four hour drive away, so this is an alt build only using of 2x of the new Tie Interceptors
  17. Shock Troopers as magazine figs are very likely, but not until January at the earliest to make sure the dedicated army builders buy the expensive set first :')
  18. While I do like the black line better than no black line, it does look awfully thick here. Then again, these look like renders, so I'll wait until actual images to judge the print quality (flashbacks to 212th helmet printing)
  19. I'd say Queen Amidala, Rex, the wolfpack clones, and Quinlan Voss are worth the most, they look like they go for around $50-$100, but if you're trying to sell them for that much it will probably take some patience
  20. The Cirrus Vision jet is a real plane that I have seen fly IRL with a V tail, but this was done to get the tail out of the way of the top center mounted jet exhaust. This new city plane does it because it looks cool (can't say they're entirely wrong), but what bothers me is the proportions. The cabin width to engine diameter is pretty good, but with the smaller wings (new mold?) and shorter fuselage it just looks weird. IMO at that length, with that wingspan, it needed a 6 wide fuselage
  21. I like the Yavin, huge fan of the Y-Wing (or really any ships in that scale), but that tree is just BAD. Yes the proportions of the temple are way off, but I'm not sure they could do much better in a sub $400 set. Looking forward to the reveals so we can get better pics and a view of the interior. Other two sets are a no-go. If it was the 327th I'd be tempted, but I'm not even in it for the figs on that swamp speeder. For what it is, Yoda's starfighter looks fine? but still not for me.
  22. Hmm. Of all these styles of mech these are definitely my favorite, but still don't plan on buying any, especially at $16. $10 would tempt me, but I'm not the target market I guess.
  23. If I remember correctly, no one has seen any prelims of the build itself, but the color scheme is based off of the parts list and sticker sheet I love my grey blob! You have no idea how much backlash there would be if a highly desirable figure, especially an army buildable one like a P2 shiny was locked behind a GWP, especially with the failure of the website :)
  24. I used Gimp, its free but that's the first time I've ever used an actual photo editing software so I don't know how it compares to others.
  25. Ok, took a quick stab at it with an unfinished MOC, and while its nowhere close to perfect, I think a higher contrast between the lit areas and the unlit areas really help it pop. I'd choose a brighter space background if you want to show off the models though Funny you mention a TIE Defender :) Here's also a photo of my highly complex lighting setup Once my 2x 75348 TIE Interceptors smashed together into a Defender is done I'll take a more professional stab at it, but right now a windows update is trying to brick my computer :/
