  1. Because they are better
  2. Yes, it's surprising. One would think that after the hefty price increase of the Pirate Ship from 99,99€ over 119,99€ to 129,99€ in 2022 people would not buy it. But i guess most customers don't even know about this and take the price as is. Don't know how much the price increased in other countries/regions though.
  3. *Your entry has earned 15 XP (S:6, T:5, A:4) The Dagro Episode: Interlude: Pirate Attack! Frigate Balt'azar VII on waiting position, somewhere between planets Anteevy and Dagro, Esuain Sector, Mid Rim. The ship is part of the fleet reserve for Rox's mission to Dagro. In case assistence is needed it will bring in fresh troops or provide support fire from the orbit. After many uneventful days, hidden between asteroids, protocols may have been handeled a bit lax and the ship and crew were cought off guard when suddenly explosions were going off. A voice from the speakers, repeating the same sentence over and over again, can be heard everywhere in the ship: "This is not a test. The hull has been breached on decks eight and nine. Enemy boarding parties have infiltrated the ship. Crew is ordered to their designated battle stations, security teams are ordered to decks six to eleven. This is not a test...." Captain Cornelius and his unit rushed to the scene and are now fighting some filthy space pirates in one of the hallways:
  4. Sorry, my English Have to add to my post and i feel it's hart for me to be precise: What i meant was, that i do not think that they are sitting on a pile of ready-for-production models they could pull anytime for release. For example, even if a such a model would only be 2 or 3 years old, some pieces might not in be in production anymore, so they would have to rework it anyway. Same for new pieces that became available over time. So i don't think there's a pile of such models they could decide to send into production tomorrow. But what i think they do have, are the aformentioned " sketch models, technical solutions (like technic frames for a spaceship), prototypes or unfinished models or maybe even models designers build in their leisure time." However, models that are planned to go into production have to be finished months before release. I would assume around half a year even. But maybe that is just the best case scenario. I imagine they would want to finish a production model early and not work on it until the very last stressful moment. I guess this is the same in every job. So i guess i agree with both of you!
  5. Yep, that's what i often think too. They have a truckload of sketch models, technical solutions, prototypes or unfinished models or maybe even models designers build in their leisure time. They could go back to those models or reactivate any of these if needed and work on the finalization. But like you said, they are not sitting one a pile of ready-for-production models.
  6. Welcome to the Eurobricks party @jainser Enjoy your stay!
  7. Beautiful scene with many great details! The building really pops because of the light colors. The trees look great and the blossoms add some splashes of color to the whole build! And there are other great details like the brickbuild lanterns or the man with the cart.
  8. I can see the Brocken from where i live, but it's been quite some time since my last ride with the Brockenbahn. Your model captures the locomotive perfectly! So good!
  9. I must admit, i am amazed how well they captured the real Legoland water splash battle ride with this set
  10. One of the biggest omissions in the minifig world! We really need a studless bald guy head piece! Something like this, but with less hair:
  11. The red and white tent looks amazing! Well done The brickbuild cows are great, even cute. Especially the one that is peeking over the fence!
  12. I wish i had one horse Great scene! I really like that you included those "wooden" tiles in the base. They blend in well. The rockwork looks great, as does the black coach, which looks heavy and unbreakable. The trees and horses provide some color, but my favorite detail is the small shrine with that splash of color of the blue flame piece.
  13. Yep, we got the TIE Advanced, Joda's Starfighter and the Fighter Tank in a row before Christmas. I expect the Rebel Fleet Trooper coming with the magazine either this year or next year.
  14. Wouldn't a 'thanks' be much more powerful if it was optional? As i understand RB, people there want to make money by selling instructions, no? If someone wants to hear a honest 'thanks' instructions would better be free. If someone wants to earn money, instructions have to cost something But if i buy something, why would i have to thank the seller? Maybe the seller should thank the buyer because the buyer spent some money?
  15. If i'll ever build a fort for BotBS, it would be an Eldorado moc! Actually this idea is in my head for quite some time now.
  16. I imagine it would be a great fun to mod the set! I would also build it on tiled ocean MILS plates. Maybe expand the fortress few studs in every direction and close all the gaps and holes. Switch to brown docks for sure! But i don't want to spend 215€ just to mod the set
  17. Wow, that's beautiful The bridge looks great! And i love the waterfalls! The mix of slopes, cheese slopes and those curved pieces works really well
  18. I recently wrote this in the SW thread when the topic came up: Two or three weeks ago i asked maxbaut, who is from the promobricks team and he said that their initial info (articles from July 2022 and January 2023) regarding the set numbers 77016 till 77019 was that these will be sets for Indy 5. They don't know if the info was wrong or if these sets have been cancelled early. Would be kinda strange if these sets pop up now
  19. Stonewars made a list of all animals that are available at PAB. I guess i'll get some piglets and rats https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-tiere-bei-pick-a-brick-uebersicht/
  20. It should be available in both, the Legoland parks and discovery centers.
  21. As a child i would have loved such a big playset like modern Eldorado Fortress. But there is nothing that speaks to me as an adult. I don't expect a full blown moc but a set with the design philosophy of a Rivendell, the Temple of the golden Idol or even the Medieval Blacksmith or the sheer beauty of some other sets for adults. So, yeah, i am not going to buy the set
  22. Welcome to the forum @Sopelq Your patrol ship is a great start!
  23. I hope you don't mind if i add the picture to the opening post!
  24. I forgot to write a comment The chair is fantastic! And there are other great details like the elaborate door or the cute droid. It was fun to, ehm, picture these noises, or whatever it is called when you see the tentacles moving every FL FL FL. I curious to learn where the story will lead us!
  25. Welcome to the forum @Kirederf Great to have you on board
