Yperio_Bricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Lego Star Wars Magazine which releases 26 January in Germany will feature Imperator Palpatine with cape, hood and two force-lightning pieces. Probably the minifig from 75352 Emperor's Throne Room Diorama. And apparently the 29 December Mandalorian Fleet Commander comes with a bag of visors and rangefinders -

Maybe, when we run out of poll questions in a year or two, we come back to this one and add all the missing captains as candidates

Impressive collection and a wonderful display I also like all the black greebling behind the shields. As kids, me and my brother had the shields from 1984 till 1995.

I see, thanks. Do you plan to build the Railway Department with real bricks one day?

I have to second what @Kai NRG said. The butterflies look beautiful and work so well together with the lantern. The scene is small but the effect is great- 94 replies

*Your entry has earned 16 XP (S:5.5, T:5, A:5.5) The Dagro Episode: Part II Soon after Rox and his team had set up their base, they began to explore the nearby surroundings. The landscape was dominated by a large flat plain with formations of rocks or hills scattered few and far between while long canyons cut through the ground. Dagro, with its rich soil and formidable farmland was well known in this part of the galaxy and provided agricultural products such as sargheet for many Mid Rim planets. From a local farmer Rox learned that the Dark Lord travelled this region not long ago... Rox: "What do you grow here?" Farmer: "Just some local spices." Rox: "Spice?!" Farmer: "Yes, herbal flowers, that will later be dried and used as seasoning. The Dark Lord demanded all of it as tribute once it is harvested! He failed to understand..." Rox: "So the Sith Lord asked you for all of the Spice, uhm, i mean the herbals?" Farmer: "Yes." Rox: "What else did you notice?" Farmer: "He was accompanied by two droids and something that looked like a lightsaber was dangling at his belt." Rox: "Thank you. Live long and prosper." [The colorful leaves that come with the Pocahontas CMF inspired me for this build. I just wish i had ordered more of them.]

Impressive build! Can't wait to see the future additions. It will be even more impressive then! The front wall is curved or has angled side sections? I can see it in your video, but how is it done?

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

You could ask maxbautde on Instagram. He recently asked for Q&A questions. Don't know if this is still running (I don't use Insta). He is from promobricks. -

Yperio_Bricks replied to CDKiii's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I did a lot of research on military units and equipment for WW2 video games and sometimes you come across military traditions that nowadays look silly from the outside because its origins are unknown to the viewer. But that does not mean any kind of judgement! -
Ideed, that's what i meant! If there ar no licensed or unlicensed characters, children will borrow characters from andy type of media, fairy tail, tv show, book or movie or whatever they like. It is not like unlicensed toys mean children will play without IP characters.

In the pictures it looks like they walk like this the whole parade. But i don't want to argue about this. Your minifig is a great depiction of the cadets and it was not my intention to take away from that. -
Richard Coer de Lion was a permanent guest in my room when i was a child. As were Robin Hood and the evil prince John And the Black Knight was a character himself! And there were many more like Ivanhoe or Blackbeard or Lord Nelson or Lancelot. If there are no named characters, children will create them themselves!

The Hovitos warrior from the Temple of the Golden Idol showed that it is still possible to portray indigenious people of the Americas in a sensible way. But on the other hand, when i look at the upcomming CMF 25, all the minifigs are straight from western culture. The Harpy from Roman and Greek mythology for example. Barbarian also from the times of the ancient Greeks and Romans. The Bat Lord comes from (East) European vampire folklore. The rest are basically city minfigs. Vikings are ok, but not Polynesians? If the Caribbean Islands would be a bigger market for Lego, would they get New Year's set too, like China? (These are rhetorical questions.) It's so sad

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Yperio_Bricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hehe yes, the big eats the small I only played a little Warhammer 40K with some friends when i was younger. Had some Space Marines, painted with Revell colors. But it makes sense to use Lego for such games. When nothing (or not everything) is glued together you can change stuff easily. Now that i think of it... maybe some Lego Space marines with these nice shoulder pads... and weaponry... -
Lets take Adventurers and Indiana Jones for example. The thing is, if there would be Adventurers sets on the shelves or Indiana Jones sets, the reaction of the majority of customers would be completely different. For every nostalgic AFOL there are a thousand regular customers who have never heard of Adventurers but know Indiana Jones and have seen one or more of the movies. Then there is all the other Indiana Jones merch and video games etc. Every one (well, not everyone but you know what i mean) in the world knows Star Wars and can relate to the movies and shows, books, comics, video games, theme parks, etc. while Classic Space and the other space themes are basically only known to people who grew up with them or to AFOLs who later learned about them. Don't get me wrong, i am not against classic themes, but we as AFOLs are just a minority, living in a bubble, while the vast majority of customers lives in othe bubbles where Lego lagacy and folklore is irrelevant. So from a business perspective licenses make a lot of sense.

Very interesting! Thanks for the insight! Then Lego and tabletop games would indeed be cannibalizing each other. -
