Fabulous work. I love how the rooves came together - especially the slight extension at the front of the tallest tower. I can't fault a lot on it, but if I had to add some constructive criticism, I'd lose the Yoda quote. The modern font is way out of whack with the rest of the vibe. Also, the linktree in your signature is 404ing - can I get a direct link to your flickr? I would certainly follow your work.

Which Lego YouTube channels are best these days?
Yoggington replied to Lego Mike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Just wanna give a shout out to 1by1Brick's channel. His Castle Season 2 series just wrapped, and it might be *the* best Lego content on YouTube for Castle fans; https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHFWYu0kTYlVqzGcj4ldHpfZb__MEcu6P Throughout it, he builds out a diorama using the LKC & Medieval village as the starting point, then uses that landscape to play out a story through each episode. Plenty of MOCs and just general techniquery mixed in as he goes. -
Holy hell. That's amazing restricted innovation.

I find it hard to imagine that's a train in the classic sense.. i.e. on rails. More like a train of 'vehicles & carts'. A husky train, a wagon train etc. Happy to be surprised, a snowpiercer style beast could be very interesting, and it would give them a way to mix it up from the usual cycle of cargo / passenger / revert.

[CONTEST] Eurobricks Alt-Build Contest 2025
Yoggington replied to Clone OPatra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I was also thinking about this, looking at the sets I have around the house. They are allowed, it's just a question of which category they land in? For me, I am thinking about 40700 ( https://brickset.com/sets/40700-1/Winter-Holiday-Train ) -
I mean, I guess it's useful for people that don't really know how they want to sort their lego? However, the venn diagram intersection between those people, and the people that have enough loose lego that it needs sorting is going to be very small.

Wish we'd known this before we built Rome :/

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Yoggington replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'm just throwing it out there, what if the vague 'medieval knight' in the title is because it's gonna be whatever has won the choose-your-faction minifig dispenser thingie? -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

In terms of brand new, a medieval farm / mill to round out the recent new releases of LKC and medieval village. In terms of re-releases/re-imaginings, Wolfpack Tower (6075). Maybe the Bricklink Designer Program choice covers that base already? I'd love to see what the official designers could do with it. -
LEGO City 2025 SETS - Leaks, rumours, discussion. (Animals too)

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Yoggington replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Is it just me that the umbrella lady is very obviously a nod to Mary Poppins? Some hints dropped by the designer in the interviews, and even just the hat / umbrella / chimney sweep inclusion seems like it's a very obvious wink - yet any reviews I've watched don't seem to have cottoned on. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Great video for seeing more than the pics have allowed. I will reserve judgement until I buy and build, but this looks excellent by any metric. I can see this slipping into my favourites from the modular line with ease. -
[CONTEST] Eurobricks Alt-Build Contest 2025
Yoggington replied to Clone OPatra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ah yes, it's now an old set, and difficult to get a hold of a copy. Therefore, that price is what second-hand sellers are asking. RRP back when it was new in stores (in 1987) would have been $155 according to Brickset. I am not a judge or an admin here, but unfortunately, (to me) that seems to be more expensive than is allowed, even in the large category due to the $150 limit. -

Recommended Retail Price i.e. the pricepoint that Lego advises toy stores to sell a particular set at. Stores can choose to do that or not, depending on what profit margin they expect to gain. I assume this is an older set, and the 700-1000 valuation is the current value? -
Well I laughed, for one.

Well that's fantastic. Time for me to bust out my old fabuland figures and start double-checking the Animal Crossing sets.
-
These look great. How easy or difficult was it to attach the heads? Are they secure or delicate?
-
Looks like a new gargoyle mold in that set too. I'm not sure where that sits with you animal enthusiasts, but it's in the ballpark.

What's the best set released in 2024? Probably the 'Family Reunion Celebration' (80113). Lego always seem to put additional effort into their attempts to crack the lucrative Chinese market. At €100, it's 50%-70% of the cost of similarly sized sets, licensed or not. All pricing aside, it's a smashing little building. Best D2C? I always get confused at what is or isn't D2C. Medieval Market Village I suppose? To my tastes at least. Best set under £50? Shout out to the Creator 3-in-1 Fox set (31154), but I think the (cheaper) Dreamzzz Raven set (Neverwitch Nightmare Creatures 71483) pips it for the cool factor. Best theme? Creator 3-in1 has been consistently good this year. Most years in fact. Best Minifigure? Halfling Druid for the DnD collection. That whole collection knocked it out of the park, but this one is the best. The printed bird, the useful torso, the new antler hood.
