  1. Brickarm, not LEGO, brickarm custom. Nice MOC
  2. It's a legit store, fake bricks is NOT tolerated on BL Also, see this thread : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=64656 And this : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10689
  3. Tl, (allmost)dr Very thorough There's plenty of Technic pieces in non manly colours. Check out the Competition theme from the turn of the millenia TLG's own naming of colours don't make a whole lotta sense .. cool yellow? bright reddish yellow? Isn't the bread the same colour as the Joust set?
  4. New owner is an AFOL (+BL user, you figure him out) and quite (as in fvckmuch) loaded so that BL is _not_ an investment adventure. That can't be all bad
  5. They should. We do not want the horders to snatch this set up and jack up prices into oblivion, do we? rm8, sounds like you had a blast! Lucky you  Also, rm8 Billund is just a factory and an airport, please DO see some more of this wonderfull country! Come to Aarhus (my city, if you do feel free to pm me), Copenhagen or some of the beautifull small islands ..
  6. TLG don't care. Also, online petitions are useless
  7. But this is what TLG did, not some lifesize UCS wetdream So, can you build this 42x 9493 better?
  8. A 42x 9493 with integral steelframe, lights and multimedia thing? You can do that better?
  9. Faefrost, stop lumping all europeans into one bag. There's actually a greater diversity in income between various european countries than between the US and AUS Look here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_in_Europe_by_monthly_average_wage Still, LEGO hase a uniform price across EU. That's not good. Of course if TLG dump the price so portuguese people can actually afford LEGO and not that copy crap that's all over the place, I'll simple just buy my LEGO in Portugal Common market = fail
  10. Why? It's just 42x 9493, a design you said was interesting Could you design something better?
  11. Interesting article .. : http://www.businessw...-new-york#r=rss ETA: Please don't merge this with the current lifesize X-Wing thread. The article is really not about that. I like the hard facts (allthough I have no way of verify them) as the subject of what AFOLS spend and how many they are comes up in discussions from time to time ..
  12. Try using search terms like "LEGO", "LEGO MOC", "LEGO AFOL" etc, instead of "XXX" Really, if you get that offended by running into random whatever, you'd better stay completely away from internet
  13. Nice, but not very efficient (50% if it's high tech, probably 10-20% if it's LEGO tech). Charging time? 700mA seems rather too high? I'd much prefer if TLG just spend their resources on bringing the rechargable batterybox down in price ETA : Also, another bloody LBG piece to hide in my trains, arghhh
  14. Everything must be in system now. Hence the redesign of many old parts. I do understand the reason and it gives a lot of new possibilities to make snot actually work (new brackets, hinges and headlight bricks) so old stuf like those curved parts are phased out Evolution. Don't like it, buy your dinosaur at Bricklink
  15. It's not a burnt out motor. If it was burnt out, it would not move at all So the vital parts are okay Sounds like a bad electrical connection and/or a mechanical/friction problem. Check both commutators (that means taking the actual motor apart) and friction in the gears/axles. Also the electrical connection from the wheels to the actual motor This can be fixed
  16. I think these are the ones, allthough they're 4,5V. It is possible to get 3,6V replacement bulbs (allthough not from LEGO) : http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x456c01
  17. It's fairly easy to bypass the IR electronics and use the chassis as a pure batterybox. You'd need a soldering iron though But why would you? Just buy a standard white trainbase and a PF batterybox and you're in business
  18. The output from the chassis is controlled by the remote, it's NOT a pure 9V box! the Chassis is a batterybox AND a IR reciever built into ONE unit You need to use BOTH remotes to make that scheme work. Very convolutted, me thinks If you want to PF that train, buy a new white trainbase and put a PF battery box inside. Peice of cake I've got several trains with the old IR system and I quite like it. That system does NOT use the same freqs as the new PF IR so that means I got 3 + 2 x 4 channels to run at once (I got several multifunction PF IR cranes etc) ..
  19. Yes, chi = bugpowder dust = narcotic drug .. Kidfriendly show?
  20. Just watched the two first episodes .. Chi = Bugpowder dust Awfull cartoon, doesn't hold a candle to Ninjago (son agress, btw) Can't believe TLG blew that much money on development and promotion (I've heards 300mill USD) on this junk
  21. They do not share ; Colour (main, accent and/or trans) Theme (no bugs, nor any conflict in CS) Figs (each team has it's own colour, CS is random) Droids/robots (minifig bodies with new heads, CS is brickbuild) And none of the GS vehicles even look remotely like CS So, I'm not sure what you mean?
  22. PC police needs another hobby. Try LEGO
  23. TLG's politics on this issue is made of 100% suck. I doubt they have such high costs of doing business in AUS compared to US/EU. EU has a comparable population to US but we still pay a good deal more Why? Because TLG can, that's why But they should remember there was a time when the company was almost bust and time may indeed change again I live in DK. I got money. I can pay. I often visit Portugal. "They" (as in the average income person) don't have money. LEGO still costs the same as in DK. LEGO sale is poor I see copy brands all over, hardly any LEGO Good business strategy? If LEGO will not dropship, I can see a very good business for some passionate LEGO fan to do a US to AUS _private_ venture Just charge say 10-20% on top of S@H prices, add shipping to AUS and it would be possible to earn quite a bit just dropping by the post office now and then As long as your not a registered business I can't see why TLG should stop this And yes, the issue WILL come up again and again and again, simply because there is a lot of angry consumers. That is btw, how TLG make their money, from consumers you know Too many angry consumers and it could be 2004 for TLG again
