  1. Okay, those sets listed (in that amount) will probaly net you 900USd on BL, but only if you list them seperatly with instructions/stickers. And again, you have to spend a lot of time selling/posting individual sets. Quite time consuming .. You say got got plenty more old stuff? I'd say 1000USD for the lot on ebay/EB/BS isn't unreasonable All that, imho that is Good luck!
  2. True that My son have zero interest in Playmobil, Skylanders and whatever crap is offered in major chains (ToysRus etc) as it's "not LEGO" (<-- his words). Unfortunaly, he knows all about Bricklink/Ebay too so he knows we can get any set/brick anytime ... ("But dad if you don't have any money just go to the bank, the got plenty!") I can blame only myself Major bonus is that it's (it as collecting/building/playing) a HUGE father/son bonding thing that we both enjoy heavily To be on topic, I have (in the way way back past) spend more on drugs than on LEGO. And I got 300k bricks/500 sets
  3. 8wide trucks? In four years we'll have 12wide trucks and microscale buildings as a sideshow
  4. List the sets you've bought within the last couple of years and I'll give you a ballpark
  5. Totally OT; but how does these monstertrucks without steerable backwheels actaully maneuvre on common roads? Wonderfull MOC btw .. I'm tempted (allthough I've never seen anything like that in the EU. I work close to a major truck repair center and the bigass rigs that haul in trucks look a lot more like the new green one from TLG .. but these US monsters just look so much more business)
  6. BL is a bad idea for this. You'll have to sell little lots and spend a lot on postage + lotta time. Make a detailed list of what you got and post it here, on BS and put the lot on ebay with a decent reserve price You got a good lot, it should not be hard to sell if the price is right. And that is about half of retail. Sorry if you've fallen on hard times
  7. I won't, he's a pro Good luck and do be carefull
  8. There are causal readers of this forum that might go; Whoha, I just need some bigass LIPOs and my car will lightning fast! .. and then, why is my wires melting, why is that motor smelling burnt, whoha flames, mom house is on fire! Toys are for stimulating yes, but there's a limit. You do not put a V8 big block in a VW beetle without changing the drivetrain, chassis and body to make it work. Can't do that with LEGO, sorry I'm not telling YOU, I'm telling the rest
  9. What a daft business plan Now, they got mostly new sets where parts can easily be obtained fron S@H, but what if a 'kid' just happens to 'loose' important parts from a 6211? What will the bill say then?
  10. If TLG does do a post office again I'm sure it'll feature an exploding door, a robber and a police car Yeah, proper post offices are a way of the dodo. I live in the second largest danish city and we got two left ..
  11. You can use high power LIPOs and you may get it to run, but LEGO is not made for this. You can certainly not run 26A through standard LEGO wires. Also, the drivetrain will suffer badly. Look at real RC vehicles, they're not made of feeble ABS joints. They're made of metal and composite parts. For a good reason Yeah, you can get your one minute youtube fame with a LEGO vehicle going 30km/h but it'll be toast after that Go buy some real RC cars instead LEGO is great for making intricate constructions, not for making badass high performance wannabe RC cars There is not. The new V2 receiver features the DRV8833 H-bridge driver with a working voltage of 2,7-10,8V (absolute max is 11,8V!) There may be a diode in series giving a 0,3-0,7V drop (low if it is a schottky), but anything above 11V is really pushing it The old V1 has even lower voltage limit and also much lower current output philohome.com has all the info/datasheets
  12. No, the first AFOL was Ole, born 1891. Gary may be older than ABS, but he is not that old
  13. At Bricklink You can sell custom MOCs there, it's been a feature for quite a while : http://www.bricklink.com/browseCustom.asp
  14. I'm looking forward to the MOC section. BL is not only a venue for selling, it is also a large LEGO loving and MOC'ing community. Many of the BL members uses EB, Flickr, MOCpages, Brickshelf etc - now they can keep it all at BL. Seems quite natural to. As natural as EB and BS having a sales forum
  15. I agree on your speculation. However, the 10020 Santa FE Super Chief was also a limited edition (10.000 sets again) and later (re)issued without a numbered tile. I do not know how much uproar this caused in the community though (this was my dark ages), but it does show that TLG have done this before I do not think TLG should make any more 41999s However it was real nice of TLG to do this and I'm sure they can recoup the loss (allthough the net income of this callout to the fan community is probably greater than the actual loss, in sales of other Technic sets, most notably the original crawler) but they should really just move on to the next Technic competition, imho that is
  16. Me too! This is exactly what BL needs .. an AFOL (fan for 40 years and avid BL user) with 1.6B$ in the bank (<-- so his financial outcome of BL will be peanuts compared to his wealth) .. and I'm sure his kids are happy as well Looks like his team means serious business
  17. Well, it's stil the good old V1.0 Edit : Works now!
  18. Still lacks the coherence of Town. Also Modulars look odd compared to City offerings (or is it the other way round?) Anyway, it's been like that for a decade, I don't expect it to change anytime soon. That's why I put a lot of money into BL instead of TLG's current sets
  19. https://www.bricklink.com/news/20130813/BL_news_page.html Exciting times!
  20. Not more complex (allthough I think the airplanes are, compared those huge Duplo things we get now), but Town was much more diverse and fun It was actually possible to assemble a whole city. What a crazy idea! Now it's all police and robbers. City have gone the down the drain. Maybe TLG got a Detroit license for cheap? Edit : 1989 was a bad pick, hardly any buildings that year. Anything from the early 80's to the late 90's fitted right well together
  21. Yeah, didn't we also say crap to the police/fire/nothing else/where's my goddamn 80's sets? last year and the year before that and the year before that too? Turned we we're ... err right Mr. Elijah Timms, please hold your hand out as I'm about to drop a large hammer on it. Don't be afraid, it might feel like a kiss from a goddess .. keep an open mind City is not dead, it's flourishing with crooks, police, fire in vacant buildings, gigantic 4WDs/SUVs and loads of trucksdrivers who got nowhere to live Now Town, that really is dead as a consistent yellow LEGO brick
  22. Yeah, but they're only resident buildings. I really miss the diversity from the 80's. You may be onto something Steinkopf, but I think it only applies to online sale. When you go to just about any LEGO selling shop in Denmark, Creator seems to jumbled together with City. I guess Creator houses are more appealing to women 'cause they're typical familyhomes. Just like the ones TLG did in the 80's
  23. Yes, it's the latest pirate fort 6242 Edit : Computer not included
  24. 'Transformers' also carry an IP license, which currently belong to some knock off company. I'm not sure just how a generic robot/vehicle (no pun intended!) will stand up in court .. don't think TLG will touch this with a ten foot pole, imho that is
