42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator

There could be clutch gears all around, that would be safe enough Also, big brother could grind little sister's dollhouse into dust with - or without - manually operated LAs -

Oh, Gawd, not more powerfull motors please! The XL can rip enough ;) Yes, more gearing is fun, but the limits of what LEGO Technic is capable of have been reached (see 42009). I really think powering a complicated set (BWE/42009) is not doable with Technic parts and only one motor as we can see. Gearboxes are fun, and complicated, but does not work for those two sets I'd prefer a motor for the bucket, the conveyoer belts and the moving of the rig (<-- which would need a gear box) And maybe a(nother) gearbox that would lifte the arms with wires instead of manually(!!!) activated LAs That would also make the whole set pretty complicated allthough more expensive, I know Yes, that would might mean less gearing/gearboxes, but you know, the set might actually work ;) Keep the intricate gearing systems to sets where they actually works In real life these machines have tons of motors and very little gearing I like the idea of this set, but for that price (which is VERY good) I could buy parts and MOC something much more suitable to my taste (note, I did not say "better") Still way cool that TLG made this (And it's going to do very well for us that have a BL shop, hehe) -
There was X-mas train last year Unless it runs on regular tracks and is 6w/can be PF'ed I see no point in this rumour

Yup, they might do a "Pirate III"

It's jerky because TLG do not understand that they need to put more motors in the thing and have higher rotation speed in all axles and gear down where the action is happening. I think that was established when Archimedes was around It's continuing the happy tradition of the 42009 with a week motor and 127 gears. End result is not pretty and in some cases hardly work More motors, less gearboxi'ng TLG I see it clearly, look at the bottom liftarms and the frames. Even the tracks seem to point inwards at the top. No wonder as the superstructure must weigh quite a bit -

I'm that other poster. i think for THIS license the fee is substantial, just look at other non-car "Porsche" items. For Mercedes/Volvo it's just a bonus really and the license may just be terms, not financial But we'll never know .. -

Way too old, I'm 41 and I never play with LEGO (See, honey it's true - it's on the internet!) I don't have 500k bricks that I play with several hours each day and I also do not have a BL shop that makes money to buy more bricks from .. eh BL :) -

Really? Have you contacted TLG? A completely new set with allready yellowed parts? (Something TLG have said will not happen with their 'new way of producing parts') -

Sure you will, as they cost a fortune on BL right now due to that particular set. When _this_ set will be parted out, the dish will drop from 20EUR to fifty cents Still a few days to make a boatload of money -

That's 180£ down the drain, mate My 7 year old kid emptied his savings so we can buy that thing. NO, interest in Nexo, Ninjago etc All the B models so far suck, imho -

That would be rather pointless in an RC controlled vehicle -

TLG does not solve problems with motors (hence the piss poor perfomance of 42009 and the same problems with the new BWE), they prefer to sell gears instead -

Thank you Henkl, I obviously don't know what I'mn talking about then, sorry Could you point me to some examples of what type of suspension these tractors have? Thanx in advance -

So you, with you're minimal knowledge of all things Technic, how do you think it's done? Cheers, Ole -

I'm not a tractor expert but I do not think that 'most tractors' have it. The Class vehicles are certainly not the tractors you see everyday, they're like the Porsche of the tractor world Normal tractors, Ford, John Deere etc have NO suspension (but maybe a perpendicular trailing arm at the front) .. at least the ones I've been in -

That crap didn't exist when I was a child! Axles were black, anything Technic was grey (the PROPER grey) and beams only came in a few colours that matched system parts perfectly And this is how I roll today -

Yes, that is a big selling point for Claas (according to that 65 page pdf). No sore bum in this tractor! -

But you need to attach the panels to something -
I have 15 Tamiya cars and you actually have to BUILD them to make them run. You can change many parts, very much like LEGO. And TLG will never make an RC car that could outrun even my lowly Grasshopper RC LEGO is pathetic when TLG tries to compete with the RC world (that crawler, sigh) but rocks when it's unusual construction vehicles etc
