I think a set of the 'Earth' doesn't really count as 'space', since space is the stuff that is not earth. Space is sets like the galaxy explorer, blacktron and the creator theme space sets, and many more, a lego representation of a common worldly object isn't a space set, as it is far removed from what space is. We all forget that there is already a creator space set available and a second one coming this march, that are both obviously examples of the space sets space fans refer to, so there will be two space sets available this year, these might be better examples.

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Stuartn replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
And similar to how General Rieekan and Airen Cracken were slotted into vehicle/area sets that they weren't really in in the movie, but were still relevant -
I saw them yesterday, but was on my phone with poor reception so I didn't comment, I went to give some praise today but now I can't see the pictures. But anyway they are fantastic mocs, I like the recolours of the official Lego stations, and the detail in your own MOCs was tremendous. I like the bracing in the roof of St Pieces. I know you said it was for practical reasons, but it looks really nice. I love the tiled surfaces on all the mocs.

Looks great, love all the exterior details and the arcade games are great representations of the real things. The custom stickers are great. You're allowed to include a link to the ideas page. Official EB guidelines stipulate you can have a single link to the page, just don't be to shouty (which your obviously not being).

I actually think that all of the themes have similar representations, castle has the blacksmith (which is a castle set, it has knights and is set in the medieval set), pirates has POBB and the creator pirate ship, space has 31107 (currently avaialble) and 31115 (in March), both of which are space and far removed from City or SW. Bionicle hasn't had anything recently but only four years ago had dozens of sets. I'm still angry about castle being added unfairly, but good luck to whichever fan base gets their choice made.

[M13 - Devaron - CS] Battle Among the Wreckage
Stuartn replied to MKJoshA's topic in Factions Archive
Great design for the windscreen of the command ship, the trees are extremely nicely done, as is the rest of the build. The edges of the track are very effective and I like the subtle dirt marks in the grass where the wing impacted. -
Incredible build. It still has the endor feel to it, with the small trees, yet you've captured an open landscape very well, the detail in teh rockwork and the pathways are very well executed.

No, it's still available, its been in some sets this year already, such as the Ninjago Boulder blaster. The other pieces you mentioned have become more ubiquitous because they are needed to hold the new flower stem part which has a bar rather than a hole for a stud. You're right that they are very fragile though, some of mine have broken too.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Stuartn replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
If you're just after the pieces, the yellow girder pieces are roughly a dollar each on bricklink (probably less in USD), and are relatively common, so that may be the easiest way there. If your after the subassembly as a whole, I'd wait a while and there is a good chance it will come up on Bricklink, or maybe ebay. Sets beings divided up after some time to be sold wouldn't be uncommon, though it could be used, but if you wait the prices may rise higher than the price of the entire set originally. -
Exactly, or say classic castle instead of castle. We would be destined to get classic castle if castle was to win probably anyway, and it would be fairer to space fans. Realistically I don't think classic space will be inhibited. If it were say, two space subthemes going up against castle it would be unfair, but I think now all space votes will stream into classic space anyway. But space was split up and it was marketed in the same way too, yet it is still classed as separate themes.

Lego spraying. Good idea or bad idea?
Stuartn replied to GalacticTremor's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You have to consider that if you ever want to remove the paint, you will probably remove the printing on the original piece, plus spraying will not achieve the brown and grey details. Are you trying to recreate a set or your own MOC, if it is the latter I'd recommend trying to recreate the structure on a regular baseplate -
I agree it did deserve to be added as you're right it was there mistake, but I think that the mistake should have been rectified earlier or accepted as unfortunate and unfair, but not changed. It is unfair now as castle, which could refer to any part of multiple themes, now goes up against classic space and pirates, both of which were split and will represent only subthemes (the former into classic space, blacktron, M-tron, spyrius, space police and many more, and the latter into pirates an imperials) when the vote commenced, yet still won. I am fine with castle winning though, I'd prefer over two of the four themes, but my vote for classic space is now in.

That's incredible, teh detail in teh cellar and the furniture especially is exquisite. I agree the use of the staircase pieces in the roof is genius. The overall level of detail throughout the model is what is so fabulous. The trees, and those grapevines, are incredible. The use of teh ice cream parts is really well conceived, and the windows in the roof are great. I disagree that the interior of the upper floor is cramped, you've captured a high level of detail and integrated everything very well, it looks great.

Looks fantastic, you've captured the angles and the engines really well. The display stand integrates nicely with teh model.

I wanted trains or town to win, so it seems a bit unfair castle has been added. I get castle had more votes and whatnot, but why can Lego change the rules they clearly advertised and include castle, yet not other themes that didn't make it to the top three? I would prefer castle over bionicle and pirates (though not classic space, though over any other space) but it doesn't seem right to change the way the poll works halfway through to benefit a particular theme that did not win, when 26 themes besides classic castle (about 20 outside of any castle theme to be fair) also did not make it.

Looks incredible, very detailed and extremely effective techniques, such as the upward tilted wings and the landing gear, especially on teh seaplane.

I would use 1x1 round bricks and 1x2 bricks, like this moc, built by a eurobricks member http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/tiammath/WIP/lddscreenshot15.png. Just make it a semicircle using 1x1 bricks at the ends instead of 1x2 bricks. You can use 2x2 bricks in some places to represent the parts of the wall that bulge out, like in teh picture you supplied. Its very sturdy so you don't need any internal bracing to keep the shape. A long brick across would hold it in place. The advantage of this system is that you can make it whatever width and it should keep its shape, furthermore, sourcing parts in the correct colours wouldn't be difficult as the parts this technique requires are available in almost any colour. In dark orange a 1x2 brick is about 7-8 Australian Cents and a 1x1 round brick about 5 Australian Cents.

Creator does have many very detailed models, I think the line of townhouses and street buildings, now numbering seven, is very successful and appeals on its own, as do many of the more detailed models, like the lighthouses, ubiquitous beach houses and animals, but I get your point though. Creator seems to exist to house all of the playsets, which would sell well but couldn't exist as their own theme, and hence don't introduce new moulds and rarely have new prints or recolours. Similarly there has always been something akin to Classic available. The issue is that trains and castle have always been broken into different themes, 9v, world city, city and many more, same goes for castle. Town can be justified because city has had a sixteen year run. But they could be included as the reasons for the removal of the theme is to update technologies or new design. But these themes have always been available consecutively, so the themes are obviously popular, which is your overall argument, so I have to agree with your point.

Excellent work, I haven't seen any of the mandalorian yet (I have to wait for it on DVD - I live in rural Australia and don't have enough internet for Disney plus) but those are fantastic and if they were real I would certainly buy them. That bantha is fantastic and far superior to the Lego version. The angles on the dropship are very well executed

I'd say that is spot on. Someone made the point that if what Lego does is a failure, then how come TLG is a multi-billion dollar successful business. Themes are more likely short lived because TLG know there is sufficient demand, but it probably won't last that long as consumers tire of the product, and they are better off removing that theme in place a of a new theme which will sell better, and so on. Ninjago was only meant to be a three year long theme, it was just so successful it stayed around. Friends is probably similar to town, in the same way city has replaced town, world city and other town themes. There is always a female-oriented theme, such as paradisia, then belville, friends was the latest incarnation of a constant theme.

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Stuartn replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You're correct, but its owned by Wesfarmer's, not Dayton's, so, like many Australian businesses, such as Woolworths, it shares the same name, but it started independently and has no affiliation or connection with the American equivalent. I hope the Target exclusive could be an Australian Target. It would be unlikely but I will still hold onto the slim hope. -

They are on a six year cycle, 2008, 2014, 2020 (or it could have been 2019) it should come out again in 2026 -
The issue with western is that however it is portrayed, native Americans or settlers separate, the historical events associated with these sets did happen, and there is no way to suggest that they didn't happen. Unlike fantasy castle which can be associated with stories or books or whatnot, same going for pirates, western wouldn't have any exposure without these interactions. They are the basis for most western movies and the previous western sets. Even if it is just settlers, depicting sheriffs and cowboys, it is associated with native Americans being pushed off there lands because that is what the settlers did, and that is why there were forts and whatnot.

Oh, and why not a ship that gets boarded by stormtroopers (hmm, where did that name come from?), then as depicted on the minifigure (who has a choking reverse face), some bad guy strangles someone else to death. And, ah, what is fallen order anyway, I just thought that example I gave was good so I just said it? And I wonder why the squadrons video game hasn't got the same attention battlefront did, since Disney seem to give it the same amount of attention as the latter. There isn't much new in squadrons ( I haven't ever played it, I'm just going off the databank, so correct me if I'm wrong), but there wasn't in battlefront either. Maybe its because battle packs (which the battlefront sets were) are now defunct? Is there any chance that there will be more 501st style battle packs. Maybe something to do with the 41st corps TLG have an obsession with, the 212th which seems to have supplanted the 501st in being asked for, or something from the OT?
