  1. There were only about two there, and the AAT was there as well. Two Tantive IVs were there too, but by the next day when I had a look they were both gone, as were all the 501st and AAT sets.
  2. Interestingly the 501st sets aren't even available online anymore over here in Australia (from major retailers other than Lego), I got a 501st set last month at a Target, but they've since disappeared, along with most other SW sets. Here no stores have any 2021 SW sets yet, besides the TIE fighter I saw at a local BigW, which was the only 2021 set of any theme that was there. Kmarts have tonnes of 2021 City sets, but no other themes. The City sets at Kmart were about 25% less than the Lego prices, so I am looking forward to seeing the prices of SW sets.
  3. Same here, I only have three road plate sets (60304), but I already have eighteen of those slopes just unused. My MOC train station uses the old version of the slopes, and I have no intention of changing because I like the texture variation (the rest of the roof uses tiles), so I don't know where I can employ those pieces.
  4. Good to see that TLG keenly discourage distracted driving! It makes me wonder what fire stunt bike will be. I am assuming there will be three pieces for the bike, four to five for the figure, maybe a ramp would have three to six pieces, doesn't seem like much. It could easily fetch $20 here from Lego Shop, and probably fifteen at other retailers if we're lucky. Hopefully there is a new bike mould or something to try and justify the price.
  5. If you decide to replicate 60050, the new 8x5x2/3 slopes that are used on the city road plates would be a more available alternative to the almost identical slopes used in its roof. It would just be completely tiled rather than studded.
  6. I agree, I'd prefer an overpriced set with road plates than an overpriced set without them. I wish there would be more sets with the road plates, even though I am a fan of the new plates, don't get rid of the old road plates only not to continue supplying the new alternative readily. 60307 and 60308 might have them, so I will reserve my judgement until then. I didn't think of that, at first I thought a stunt theme seemed quite niche to fill a whole theme, but as you have said there are other possibilities. The TV 6+ vehicles and infrastructure have appeared in three sets so far, so hopefully it will continue to appear in the same way other brand references have. I guess they will come with a ramp or something, maybe over flames in the fire stunt bike. The chicken stunt bike will probably be a man in a chicken suit on a motorbike. (Lego city just makes sense doesn't it?)
  7. I was going to say that that would seem odd though considering it would be running against the system scale AT AT, but since the current AT AT is ageing I suppose it would be logical it would be followed up by a UCS version, which would come out later in the year. It is probably the only vehicle that is iconic enough to justify the price tag and still be big enough to occupy it. Could it come perhaps with a small snow speeder or something affixed to it to bump up the piece count? I am still hanging onto the hope it might be a rebel starship of some sort, but that is unlikely.
  8. Thank you. I am currently building a small construction site moc, and I needed some detailed equipment mocs to add detail and interest. The trailer was perfect for that. Your two piece jackhammer moc is very nice as well, I like the use of the harpoon piece.
  9. Looks good, I like the ATM. The advantage of the 2011 one would be the better vehicles, such as the civilian money van. It would depend on the price too, especially if the used set is less than the 2017 one. The wildlife rescue sets sound quite good, Here in New South Wales we have an organisation called WIRES which is dedicated to wildlife rescue. I fear these sets might not be as realistic though. Considering we got an excellent Labrador mould this year, I hope these sets also come with some good (realistically sized) animal moulds (a kangaroo would be nice). Considering 60307 and 60308 aren't continuous with the other set numbers, hopefully this means that they are from a different theme, or more generic city sets with road plates.
  10. Incredible build, the technique used to join parallel tracks is genius. It is even more impressive considering it handles so well in actual terrain. Great video too. How fast can it go on a smooth surface?
  11. I agree that Endor is most likely, since the last MBS sets were from ESB and ANH. Although MBS sets go on a 2 year cycle, (2018, 2020..) normally, not many other UCS or system sets have the $350 price tag. The gunship could be larger than other UCS sets and occupy the larger price range, but there is still a chance we will get an MBS set this year.
  12. I completely agree with Bricklink, while some older sets might be more expensive, you would have access to better sets, even getting the sticker sheets (if you want them) and parts separately would be good value and if you can find a large store on Bricklink which has all the parts you need, it could be quite straightforward. The best bank was probably the 2011 set, 3661. It was a limited edition set itself, and now 10 years old, so it would be very expensive, but you could Bricklink the sticker sheet and get the parts separately. The parts were quite common so they shouldn't be too expensive or hard to find. Considering prices other retailers were asking, I couldn't believe my luck.
  13. Here is my final version. I have used 1x1 clips on jumper plates to attach the cover piece. Doing so meant I had to build the structure below it up on the other side, in order to incorporate an interior, so I added the extra light yellow stripe. Using clips also means there are space below the cover. I used a 1x2 tile attached to another jumper plate in the interior to close the middle gap, but there are still two gaps on either sides of the 1x1 clips. I will try to change them to yellow to better match your original design. In order to make the interior work because of the jumper plate arrangement, I had to change the design slightly. Your interior does look more realistic, neater and detailed, but as I will be using this with the lid closed it shouldn't matter too much. Once again, thank you for the design, it looks great.
  14. Thank you for the close up pictures. The main parts I an not sure I have in those colours are the drawbar piece, and the slope piece which the 1x1 cone attaches to. For those I am sure I can replace with a different colour drawbar, and use a cheese slope instead on a 1x2 tile instead. The only other part where I am not sure I will have the correct part is the yellow hinge tile which the cover piece connects to. I might have to just change that colour somehow or find a different part. I will be happy to upload a picture when complete.
  15. Looks amazing. I like balance between the classic space feel and modernised building techniques/incorporation of new parts. Although it is only a small part of the build, that little rover is excellent. Using the rollercoaster parts for the train works incredibly well, and that crane is especially well designed.
  16. They look great. It is amazing to see what can be done to improve existing sets. I really like that trailer, and I have most of the parts (that I can see for it). Do you mind I try replicating your design?
  17. Finally the 2021 sets have appeared in Australian stores other than LEGO. Some chains have increased prices, but Kmart has kept prices very nicely low, and has a lot of stock. These road plates were AU$22 (US$16.93) each, at regular price. I am glad that while expensive, Australian consumers aren't being ripped off compared to other countries, considering the added transport costs getting these products to Australia.
  18. I agree, the windscreen does look great, especially in that side view - the rest of the model is very good too, great detail on the wings. The interior of the cockpit is very nice as well.
  19. Generally most SW sets are four or five years apart, with the exception of the X-wing, which has had five since 2015 (technically only two were the same), with TIE Fighter sets also quite close (three since 2015 and a UCS version). If you don't count similar vehicles as the same (such as the Solo or ST millennium falcon) and discount UCS/MBS sets, I cannot think of many other sets that are that close together.
  20. Nostalgia does sell though, evidenced in the Pirates of Barracuda Bay set, which is marketed to over 16s. It is based off the original Black Seas Barracuda from 1989, so the same might work for a space set. Having re-read this sentence unlike the original, much more exploration based classic space I realise my own wording was a bit mistaken there- apologies! But in a way that is sort of my point. People don't have experiences of going to space, only what is seen in the media, TV, movies etc. The days of movies with aliens and UFOs invading Earth and fighting with humans has long passed, so space is related with exploration and research, not combat. I realise sci-fi space fictional, but for it to have a more relatable basis could engage a wider market. I am not against any sort of weaponization in space sets, as has been pointed out it has been done before, but I think some recent space themes, such as galaxy squad, and alien conquest, have such an overarching and stiff combat related storyline that creativity is hard to create. The Mars Mission sets were a good compromise. I don't mind, rather appreciate, aliens being included, but they are always portrayed as the theme's villains, which makes the theme quite rigid, to the younger market especially.
  21. I always think that finally, after several hundred sets, I will actually get a missing piece. I actually look forward to one day getting a missing piece, just so I have the psychological satisfaction of being able to say that I have found a set with a missing piece. I actually hope that with every set, a piece (one that I have dozens of in my collection though) is missing. More often than not I am reading the instructions wrong or it is still in the bag. I once actually got two sticker sheets in a box, in set 4208. I was very happy to be able to make two fire trucks (I had the parts in my collection) for the price of one! Does anyone ever actually get too many pieces? What I have had happen though is having the sticker sheet rammed in the corner of a box and all crinkled (TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet). Has anyone noticed that recently, in small sets, the instruction manuals are all creased in the box and practically unable to be straightened out, so you irritatingly have to hold it down with one hand, only leaving one hand to build?
  22. I agree. We have to remember also that the majority of buyers are kids, who might not have even been alive when the last version of a set came out. If we didn't have remakes, we probably would have run out sets a couple of years ago. Not all AFOLs have the chance to get sets at a certain point in time either, and normally remakes are strong improvements over the previous set. I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but I really dislike the exploration subthemes in City. Not so much dislike the theme, but dislike them being in the City theme. The sets are actually quite good, but please place them under their own theme so we have more actual town-related sets. Though they are actually a good source for parts and inspiration for now non-existent traditional themes, such as space, arctic and jungle adventure-related themes.
  23. Or this piece: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=35700#T=S&O={"iconly":0} It might not hold 1x2 envelope plates, but you could fit more in a 6 wide vehicle.
  24. Well, the last modular in a line at least - the next one cannot connect to it!
  25. Don't worry about it, you gave a warning and didn't try to trick anyone. I should have been more specific, if I remember correctly the royal guard helmet was thought to be confirmed from being in some video, but it turned out to be some other model.
