  1. Love the use of the paper craft, really hope to pull that of someday too. Don't mind the Pinnochio hat personally.
  2. Seconded, a nifty build.
  3. It's a neat Battle Scene, I also appreciate the added backstory / lore given for the setting, good stuff.
  4. Hey TribunM, great storytelling and real shame about your parcel, I'm not a big fan of digital but I can see the vision, would love to see the real deal someday!!
  5. Thanks for sharing!
  6. I agree great building technique with great writing technique. Lovely combination.
  7. I don't normally think bigger is automatically better but from the moment @evancelt posted Castle Brickington I fell in love with the stronghold so that gets my primary vote. While there is a simplicity to the main walls texture it really complements the roof/parapet/side tower as well as the window and door detailing and landscape in a way where it all comes togheter very lovely. I do really like @Ayrlego for it's technical (technique?) impressive detailed work, it's a gorgeous build, I think every build I've seen from him in the past has alway been great, so that would get my secondary vote and/or honourable mention.
  8. Great job with the finalized build!
  9. The brickbuilt tent is very well executed and the addition of the old ruinous elements really compliment the build adding just that little bit extra.
  10. Hey BrickWolf, I would have loved to have had a slightly angled view of the build.
  11. I really like the bridge, but at the same time it looks very risky to cross haha.
  12. Thanks Nod, appreciate it.
  13. Thanks to be honest it's actually used in a birds nest in new Lego City sets! (I think that's also where the part was actually introduced in brown). Thanks Ross!
  14. The two men strolled through the labyrinthian streets and alleyways of Nevalle, Tiberio flanked by his Second, an elderly gentleman and true Mardierian by the name of Aldemir. Aldemir wore plain but solid lamellar armor and with a guige rested a kite shield on his back, proudly brandishing the Wyvern's Talon sigil and name sake, as well as a longsword. They approached an ornate cast iron gate, it was the entrance to the cities Vandymion stronghold, although their main estate was a ways outside of the city it was here one would come to do business and it was business that Tiberio hoped to do, despite his history. As the House Guard noticed Tiberio and his companion he scoffed; "well well if it isn't the deserter and one of his dogs"... it wasn't Tibero's pup the guard was referring to but before Tiberio or luckily Aldemir (Aldemir's hand already motioning towards his blade) had a chance to respond the gate creaked open as a woman in ornate crimson and decorated with gaudy jewelry came out. It was Bianca Vandymion, the youngest daughter of house Vandymion and the one who took Tiberio in all those years ago, Tiberio was sure of it. This might turn out alright after all. Her expression was soft and friendly, it was but a veneer behind which the true cold and calculating personality of a Vandymion hides. "My if it isn't Tibs, my attendant notified me when she saw you approaching. What in the fiery blazes are you doing back here!" Tiberio wasn't so sure of that himself, the truth was, he was desperate. With Wyvern's Talon reputation in the gutter and their coffers empty they needed good paying work and they needed it fast, even better if they could rebuild their reputation while getting paid. He put everything in on this one last bet, hoping that there was perhaps some other reason that girl took him out of the ditch that long time ago, Tiberio hoped that perhaps she had feelings for him, perhaps it was some other reason, but now he hoped he could still exploit that vulnerability that she once showed. He smiled sheepishly and got straight to the point, after all these years that was all he could think to do; "looking for work, heard there is a lot of trouble on the road these days, what with the deserters and veterans turned highwaymen and bandits" Bianca contemplated a moment before responding; "Yes, that's true, the scoundrels have been getting more and more brazen as of late, seems something is stirring. Heard Wyvern's Talon was no more though, heard they disbanded." "Not all of us." Tiberio quickly interjected, waiting for Bianca's reply. She did not wait long to respond; "You're really lucky father isn't here you know, if he wasn't back in the estate right now there would be mighty hell to pay, not sure he'll be all too pleased if he found out I hired you lot either." "Does that mean we got the job?" Tiberio smiled. Bianca smiled back, Tiberio thought this time it might even be genuine though he could not say for sure. She replied "Yeah well, we could really use some more armed escorts on these shipments that were ment to have left the city already two moons ago! Let's discuss the details inside, and then I'll have to deal with father later." "Excellent mydame, Aldemir tell the men to prepare for travel." To be continued. ___ My first vig for BOBS:TOO I hope it's up to standard, as well as the writing, as a non-native English speaker and somebody who hardly ever writes anything down, other then reports at work haha, I kinda always struggle with this stuff.
  15. Great stuff, enjoyed the read ... and the builds ... and the map. Am looking forward to seeing more of Lorenzo and the politics going on.
  16. Ah that's really slick, nice.
  17. Great Castle, the size of it just feels right for me (as if it's one of the Castles I've visited throughout my life) and I love the way you made use of those classic panel pieces (that I kind of want to get now haha)... I didn't really pay attention to it on Flickr but the landscaping is also really well done. Btw are those custom window panes or stickers or actually lego? I don't recognize them.
  18. I definitely tried to give them my own spin, but honestly I was lucky to pick up two Tournament Knights years ago and never really knew what to do with them since, so I got really excited when I saw your figbarf... I will say I'm not satisfied with how the gunners turned out, they are definitely subject to change when/if they turn up in future stories (I just don't have any other parts to change them now that would be faction appropriate. I have plenty of Red/Blue Castle fig parts but those pieces would be much more at home at Oléon and Corrington. That said here is my introduction let me know if I got anything wrong or if there is anything I have to change! Tiberio, and the Wyvern's Talon mercenary company An orphan to parents unknown, Tiberio spent his early childhood surviving under savage conditions in the Rats Nest, the local slums of merchant city Nevalle in the Namere province of Mardier. One day as Tiberio lay nearly starving by the side of the road a carriage stopped, it was the youngest daughter of the wealthy Vandymion merchant family, she pitied the malnourished child and told her attendant to bring the boy home for a meal. At first the Vandymion patriarch disapproved but then, wanting to indulge his beloved youngest daughter, decided to take the boy into his household as an indentured servant. Tiberio was a quick learner and was among many other things taught the basics of combat and strategem for which the boy had a knack, realizing his potential the patriarch decided Tiberio was to one day serve the Vandymion household's personal guard. Tiberio however had other plans, secretly leaving the household as the boy came of age to join the Wyvern's Talon a then famous Caroleon mercenary company, with big dreams of becoming a legendary hero in the Long War. While the boy quickly realized war wasn't all he had dreamt it to be, throughout the years he still worked his way up the ranks. His experience surviving in the slums and his lessons during his servitude to the Vandymion household paying of. Tiberio worked his way up to becoming number two in the company, until eventually taking over leadership when the company's previous captain fell in battle. Now that the Long War has ended and the coffers have been drying up, the once legendary Wyvern's Talon has become a shell of it's former self and Tiberio is contemplating returning back to Nevalle, back to the Vandymions he once turned his back to.
  19. Man can I just say I love the continues return of your character, it's been a long time but I immediately recognized it haha, the camel being 'derpy' is great too. Overall a beautiful detailed build and a strong start.
  20. Such a cool crane, is it your own design. overall just a really lovely diorama that turned out excellent.
  21. I love that green roof, you don't see that done often enough.
  22. Interesting, I just discovered a lot of my recent favorite figbarfs come from this new Tales of Old group. After reading up a bit on this I'm now very tempted to make my own Carolean Mercenary Company haha. This might just have to be a placeholder.
  23. I realised we don't have a Maid lego minifigure yet, really hoping to get one in CMF 25...
