  1. You could tell me Lego is releasing a single poly bag for DC and I wouldn’t believe you. This theme is practically dead lol
  2. Adam Warlocks face print looks pretty good. Love the hair choice. His torso and legs are really detailed so it makes the lack of arm printing really noticeable. For some reason I always find it jarring when torso’s and sometimes legs have so much detail and the arms have none it can look a bit funny like they’re wearing long sleaves with heavy armor or something lol. In his case I could see him just having his arms exposed? Like he has no sleeves? Because his arms seem to match his skin tone to my eyes, but maybe there’s a slight color difference there. And I know I’m late to the party but this X-Mansion rumor is annoying because I so wish it was true. I would otherwise think an X-Mansion would be popular enough to sell, especially given Lego’s willingness to make huge expensive Hulkbusters and character busts. This feels like a safer choice. While I have no doubt this rumor is fake, I could see us eventually getting a set or two for the X-Men animated reboot coming out this year. But I wouldn’t expect that till next year earliest. Isn’t there a Deadpool 3 coming up as well? I heard rumors that may be in theMCU. while its R rating would likely not allow for a set to be released for it, I’d love for another Deadpool variant in a tie in comic set to be released in the same year.
  3. I think the Bugle is a good starting off point for a scale reference but if we ever got a Stark Tower I’d love for it to have a landing pad wide enough and sturdy enough to hold a single quinjet, so hopefully it’s slightly bigger than the DB to accommodate that function. A huge feature in the MCU has been the Quinjet landing on the Tower. If we were to get a D2C set for Stark Tower I would just really hope it has that play feature. And this should go without saying but it should be to scale to at least 1 existing MCU quinjet set, I really don’t need them adding a quinjet in the set to “demonstrate” that feature as it would either increase cost or lower the piece count for the Tower. Personally don’t mind the mechs as we barely get any comic based content in the past 2 years and if we got no mechs this wave then the Morbius set would be our only comic set of the wave and possibly the year depending how things play out. I know we have some mystery sets but if I am correct all the upcoming rumored sets are MCU. Not that I mind but if we got rid of the mechs I think Lego would neglect comic based designs even more. I see them as affordable ways to get interesting figures. I really like the Wolverine and Black Panther I got in 2022, and they were exclusive designs! I would love to see the mechs continue to see who else gets made. Ghost Rider and Rocket Raccoon were interesting pics, and in comic accurate designs as well. The character selections have been top tier so hopefully it continues and they throw some obscure choices at us eventually. (Squirrel girl mech please).
  4. I would at least hope the figures are in some sort of bagging besides the outer box. If I remember correctly vidiyo had the figs in plastic bags inside of the outer boxes. While this would be a huge contradiction seeing as the entire point of switching to boxes is to be environmentally friendly so keeping plastic bags inside would defeat the purpose because at that point just sell them in bags to begin with. But anyways while it would make this entire situation feel ridiculous it would be nice for them to have bags inside lol so when people buy them to sell on BrickLink we can essentially still have a sealed figure. You were able to still get a sealed vidiyo fig on the aftermarket if you disregard the larger outer box being opened. Either way I guess I’m going to start getting figs from BrickLink. I already did but seems that will now be the primary method. Maybe if sales tank they revert back to bags hopefully. I agree. I would still love to see the MCU get love and receive sets and such. I would just like to see more of the comic side as well. MCU fans can keep getting what they get, but something more than just a few $15 mechs and 1 morbius set a year would be nice. There is a lot of ground to cover for Lego comic based Marvel sets. But I personally want a classic comic Scarlet Witch, Silver Surfer, and Squirrel Girl the most at the moment. And then there’s variants! Classic , contemporary and legacy variants of so many characters! Throw us a bone is all I ask Lego
  5. I wish I could be excited for a Marvel cmf series but first of all boxes? I know this rumor has been circulating for some time now about cmf series at large but after seeing series 24 release in bags I had hope they scrapped the boxes idea. I hate the idea of boxed figures as there is essentially no way to determine who you’re getting unless they include codes on the boxes. I have used the touch and fee method for years and have not gotten an incorrect figure in god knows how long. I have consistently gotten the figures I presumed I was feeling and no longer having that ability to get the ones I want really steers me off from wanting to pursue cmf figures moving forward. And secondly this is rumored to be another MCU based series. I’m not going to act dumb, I’m aware the MCU has so many projects going on right now that won’t be fully covered by just the sets released annually so a CMF series is a perfect way to fill some gaps. That said my bias remains towards comic designs and all things considered that has felt a tad neglected in recent years. I was fine with the first series being MCU based because the figures were great and I was hoping to save money at that time anyways but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping to get a comic inspired cmf wave. For what its worth i guess they could always produce more comic sets, but from recent years it seems the MCU is the focus of all things lego marvel. I hope we get a comic version of classic Avengers sometime in the near future. And with the new X Men cartoon coming out this year, hopefully some 90’s costumes make their way into lego sets in the coming years.
  6. I recently finished building the Water Dragon from the sea bound wave and this has to be one of the best Ninjago sets of all time. And this theme has some incredible sets. The build of the dragon is immaculate and the head sculpt is leagues above a brick built head. I love the fabric for the wings and my only complaint is the claws on the feet tend to come off easily. Every figure in that set is incredible but the seabound Nya water ninja figure has tk be the best ninja figure the company has ever produced. Looking at her in person she reminded me of a Naruto character. Instantly recognizable as a water Ninja and one of the best figures I currently own. I was so flipping excited to have built this set and never got around to talking about it but if there’s only one set to get from sea bound it would be that one. Now I have to build the keepers village and maybe post my thoughts on that but it feels quite late to do that lol.
  7. Thank you for this reference! I do appreciate the set a lot more now than I did when I thought it was Lego coming up with their own design. That said, the bulk of Rockets orange costume appearances has been post 2014, at least to my perspective. It would have been nice to get a design that didn’t mirror his MCU orange suit too close. I personally wanted to see his early 2000’s blue and red suit, or his classic green suit. But I am happy there was an actual comics reference. I’d like to see more comic based Guardians content in general. It’d be nice to get a green Drax in a mech set. on a similar note, I recently bought the Black Panther mech and gotta say, this really does feel like an MCU design. The suit has the same white lines on the hips seen in the MCU suit, and the stylized head feels very much like the line work we saw on the mask used in the MCU. I get that people see this as a comic based set as they (mechs) have been for the most part. But it does look like it could pass in an MCU layout. Still love the set and figure but unsure if the suit has a comic reference either. I gotta say while I like this wave, I’d like to see more comic content moving forward. I guess the mechs keep that alive but an actual set or two would be nice to see beyond just the winter wave. I hope they make sets based off the X-Men animated reboot coming next year.
  8. I don’t know if anyone should have replaced her, but it’d have been nice to see War Machine or Cap added to the set along with her. All I want is M’Baku’s hair piece to be available on PAB one day lol, but I agree it’d be cool to get him in more sets. We only get one wave of mechs each year correct? Just the winter wave?
  9. So many hair pieces available for purchase on PAB. You know which piece I wish they would add? M’Baku’s. I need his hair for my Lego Blade figure as I feel its the best choice but I don’t want to have to buy an $80 set for it and even if I did I would probably not want M’Baku walking around bald without it. So I hope eventually his hair piece becomes available for purchase because I’m sure many others would also be excited to get to buy it.
  10. Finally set images! Late to the party but I wanted to comment my thoughts on this wave. 76245 - at least for me, the appeal of a mech is that is a cheap and affordable way for kids to get their favorite characters. Or, in better words, for me as a consumer, my appeal for the mechs is that they are cheap ways to get cool mini figures. So this is more of just my perspective, not saying this objectively but a $35 mech kind of loses the initial appeal the mechs had for me. At that price point I would expect or prefer they produce a set with 3 or even 4 mini figures. It’s a bit disappointing to pay $35 for one fig. That said, I’m happy kids have some opportunity to buy Ghost Rider, as its been a while since the 2016 set discontinued. I thought Ghost Rider had a great design when I was a kid so I don’t doubt many will be excited to get to add him to the collection. The bike is well done but I do wish they added a few other figs to the set. 76241 - chest hair was an interesting artistic choice to go for Hulk. I gotta say I do not like the way the hands are done. The studs on top of the fingers and under the fingers feel unnecessary and are kind of ugly in my opinion. The toes are funny but I don’t think I like the arms either. 76243 - sigh. I used to see the mechs as a fun way to get comics figs specifically. Up until this point I think the mechs have been loosely inspired by the mech strike comics (based off the head of the Thor mech and arms on the Black Panther mech, and character choice for the first few waves) and the Wolverine mech for example was clearly comic based, at least the fig was. So when i heard we were getting a Rocket Raccoon mini fig I was excited because, I thought Lego would use this as an opportunity to give us a comic design. Considering we just got an MCU variant in the Advent Calendar, and the Benatar, and there’s an upcoming Vol.3 wave, I thought this fig could be a great and rare opportunity to get a comic variant of Rocket Raccoon. It’s disappointing I can’t find a single comic reference that matches this brown coat with blue undershirt. I don’t necessarily think its 1:1 with any MCU suit either. Possibly concept art from Vol.3 secretly? Either way this feels like a missed opportunity given all his MCU appearances. I would have loved to see his green or blue and red suits. 76242 - so excited for this one. I was actually going to buy the Thor’s Hammer just for the complete Infinity Gauntlet. So to be able to get that for $15 is really exciting to me. The mech itself is also very well done! The legs ankles and feet are very nice, bulky and streamlined. Again my only complaint is this fig is clearly MCU based given the baldness and that suit is pretty close but not exact I’ll admit to his Infinity War design. Whatever I’m so excited for that Gauntlet! 76247 - sigh again. Tired of Hulkbusters but I guess they must sell well. The price is nice. That said, I am not sure I agree with the proportions. Bruce Banner is kind of a boring fig, Outriders are nice to army build. Okoye is the real standout here imo. She’s really fun to get. I do think one additional figure would have been nice to see here. 4 is not a number I’m fond of. I would have liked to see Vision or Falcon included as well. 76244 - its Morbin time. This is the best set of the wave and yes my comic bias is showing. Love the way they printed his nose, the hair choice was quite smart as well. I love the fact we’re getting Morbius. For $25!! Not much to say about the vehicke. I’m not mad at Lego making up a car for Miles Morales, toy company’s that produce Spider vehicles tend to get creative with what they produce and I’ve seen Spidey helicopters when I was a kid. So idc if it’s accurate to anything or not, it looks so good. This car is so sleek but also kind of sturdy at the same time. Love this design for the milesmobile, really great set. 76248 - this set made me quite nostalgic actually. I have the 2012 Quinjet and getting it for Christmas was huge for me as a kid. To see it rereleased is quite exciting. First I’ll say the build seems to be quite accurate to the MCU, and I cannot overstate how awesome it is we got a full interior. There’s so much sitting room for you to add other Avengers and thats really cool for me and I’m sure kids will have a lot of fun choosing the roster of figs they send on missions. Its really nice to see the amount of space they included. The ability to swap the Avengers and Shiel logos are really cool additions to the set you can get 2 and display them differently should you choose to. And finally the figure choice is so cute to me. Choosing to redo the 2012 figures feels nice to see. Black Widows arm printing is refreshing to see and the hair choice was spot on. I still feel the CMF S9 Hollywood Starlets hair in orange would work great as well, I have no complaints. Lokis smirk is miles above the Bruce Wayne head and the print is pretty good. I guess my only complaint is Thor’s face is too derpy for me me, and Loki could have used arm printing. Besides that this Quinjet is a very solid release. overall a very solid wave, but given only one set (the Morbius set) was comic based, it’s a shame Lego didn’t take the opportunity to focus on comic designs for the mechs. I guess the Ghost Rider fig was comic accurate. Anyways besides the disappointing Rocket Raccoon figure I think this wave has a lot going for it.
  11. This series is amazing! The shade of purple seems to be brighter than I expected! So they still have darker purple tones to revisit for future series, I love that. Overall an incredible bunch I didn’t enjoy series 23 much (only 3/12 which is a bad ratio) so I’m very excited about this next bunch. referee - I’ll admit she’s my least favorite of the one’s I intend to buy, but she’s hard to resist during World Cup season lol space (?) shooter - don’t crucify me I’m not sure how they’ll going to officially refer to him. Obsessed. His color scheme is so refreshing and I love the unique use of skate pieces to build a gun, very excited to get him. Space figures are some of my favorite to collect and he doesn’t disappoint. Great helmet mould unlike anything the company has done before imo brown spacesuit guy - makes me want to track down and collect all the space suits to ever be produced. The baby space man in blue is adorable I didn’t know I needed that Carrot suit - I am tired of the costumed figs but its well done and the mould looks incredible black knight falconry - I think this torso should be available on pick a brick if it isn’t already. I say that because I am pretty share this torso might be. It dwindles the significance of the fig and I’d much rather army build through pick a brick if it does end up being available there (her torso that is) dinosaur suit guy - I don’t care how tired I am of suited figures, he is amazing and I need him orc - one of the best I am so excited to army build him. The new jaw piece and the accessories are just so satisfying all combined Steve Irwen - we got a Lego Steve Irwen figure! At least that is how I see him. Amazing gift to humanity that man was. The kola is cute and I love the cargo shorts. Are those cargo shorts? I don’t know but I’m definitely getting this guy Potter - color me shocked, when I read the leaked list I thought this fig was gonna be a bore. The head wrap is so unique and her color scheme is so flattering I am very excited to add her to my collection. Marie Antoinette - I agree the dog choice is weird but her hair piece is so intricate and unique, her entire get up is so exciting she’s my personal fav of the series, and I think it’s a strong series. girl in rocking chair - I hope the rocking chair becomes available at either pick a brick or BAM. This figure is otherwise pointless given the high quality of figures in city sets, it’s hard to set her apart, you know what I mean? Newspaper boy - perfection. The goofy expression, mid sized legs and slingshot, close second fav to a really fun series overall a very strong come back for a pretty bad series 23. From my point of view at least.
  12. Thanks for correcting me. I thought those were 2022 sets for some reason. My internal clock misled me. I’m still frustrated I likely won’t be able to pick them up directly from Lego, I may find luck at a Barnes and Noble in December. Still, it’d have been nice to have VIP points for the sets, and I’ve been catching up on retired sets from my dark ages plus retiring soon sets I still would have liked to see them at least enter December with some decent availability.
  13. So there’s a few animated movies coming out for DC next year . Very excited to see them all ignored and hear what the superheroes designers say next time.
  14. I am quite frustrated that the Fire and Water dragon are already sold out in the USA. I can’t afford to get them until December, and I don’t know if they’ll restock on lego.com . Didn’t those come out this summer with the Hydro Bounty wave? It feels like they were just released. There’s also a few Friendd sets I thought were incredible that just got released also set to retire. I’m not sure if things are underperforming and we just can’t tell? If they’re selling well I’m shocked to see so many good sets go so soon.
  15. So I initially thought the X-Men 97 reboot would be a live action project in 2023 due to my misunderstanding of it’s announcement. Now that I have been clarified that the project is actually an animated reboot of the original series, I am nothing short of ecstatic to see that new show. I absolutely love the X Men, and finding out their classic 90’s costumes will be revisited in animation is actually better to me than finding out it would be a live action project. This is because the outfits are more likely to lean towards that classic feel in an animated format. It remains to be seen whether or not Lego will release content for it in 2023, but the fact that animated X Men content is set to release before they make their MCU debut gives us the possibility of receiving X Men sets earlier than anticipated! And with their classic costumes at that! We finally have the possibility of receiving Jean Grey, Beast, Rogue, and Professor X figure in their classic costumes! I really hope we see something for the X Men in 2023, but wouldn’t be mad at the prospect of having to wait till 2024 if it means getting some well developed sets. I say this all because, there is a good chance Marvel may not depict the X Men in complete comic accuracy in live action as some tweaks are usually made when adapting this content. This animated series provides the best opportunity to get classic designs we’re all familiar with. I’m really excited to see if we get anything next year.
  16. Love the Pixel fig she is the standout of the wave for me. Brief thoughts on some of the sets. 71782 - not the biggest fan of the lighting its hard to see the outline of the dragon with such dark imagery. I do like the head but Zayns Rhino dungeon is probably going to remain the assigned build for Cole in my collection for the time being. I need an image with better lighting to determine if I’ll pick this up. Bone spider looks flimsy 71786 - Unlike Zayns Rhino I actually think this dragon fits Zayn perfectly. That said the set feels a bit too large for me. Taking Lloyds Green dragon from TLNM, Nya and Kai’s water and fire dragons respectively from this past wave, and the dungeon Rhino I gave to Cole (even though its canonically Zayne’s) into account, this dragon feels quite huge and out of scale. All the other ninja have reasonably scaled animals to command but this ice dragon is a behemoth. And not in the good way, I feel it makes it look awkward when lined up with the other animals the ninja own. I do love the 6 legs and the build is nice but feel like it could have been scaled down a bit. All in all not my favorite wave but winter waves tend to not be as strong as summer waves in my opinion so we’ll see what else this theme has in store for the year.
  17. Hopefully this is not how it turns out but I fear you may be correct. First the Hulkbuster now this, it seems Lego is gearing towards producing mech scaled sets and I don’t like it. Ideally this will not be the case. I know I’m a year late but looking at the Daily Bugle, what is this Doctor Octopus based off of? I couldn’t find any Google images of Doc Oc that matched this costume. Any ideas what source Lego pulled inspiration from for this dark green figure? Also when will we get a classic comic Electro/Lizard? Its been a long time coming. Hopefully the new Rocket Mech is comic based. Excited to see both that and the Hulk mech.
  18. Optically it looks like DC as a brand is being disregarded by every company it crosses paths with. I agree with your overall sentiment that this answer felt a bit dismissive. See, I don’t even believe them that the adult centric content is why the brand gets mo sets. Didn’t we only get one unofficial tie in for Beware the Batman? Just the 2014 Batmobile. We got no sets for Justice League Action, and TTG has been on air for how long? And yet the only Titans related content we receive are the Teen Titans sprinkled in Batman sets or CMF series. We’ve had plenty of cartoons and animated movies aimed at kids release since the start of the theme and none of those have gotten sets. To say the adult centric focus is why we get little content feels off. Maybe he was trying to say that the overall popularity of the characters is not strong enough to sustain a wave? But then with that logic you’d just have to sprinkle in heroes in Batman/Superman focused sets like they used to do. Then I have my other perspective, which is that, if prior DC waves sold poorly, the figure quality may have something to do with it. If you are concerned that non-Batman related heroes won’t sell, why release said characters with such terrible quality? Firestorm had no leg printing, Flash took forever to finally get his boots, Batgirl has yet to have a solid figure released, etc. if these characters are not popular enough to sustain a wave, do you think releasing them with minimal attention to detail and repetitive part usage will entice fans to make a purchase? Idk, if Cheetah is seen as an obscure villain kids may not be familiar with, releasing her with the most overused hair piece and no arm or even tail printing is not the way to get kids interested in her IMO. In conclusion, the response holds no weight because they’ve had plenty of kid aimed content they chose not to produce sets for, and the low quality for the figures they have produced only feeds into a kids potential desire to skip this content. But I guess there was a slimmer of hope with their closing statements. As long as they have the license, the potential to turn this around remains. Hopefully a new cartoon will drop in the future that the Lego group won’t conveniently ignore.
  19. Yes the length is what brings it closer, but again her braids don’t really match an existing piece. Good point about Shuri, I know she had that bun for Infinity War, but I remembered her having a long braid coming down from said bun, but I guess you’re right that it does match how she looked. I take that comment back. I hear you, the throne itself is still a decent representation of the throne in the movie so at least that set has that going for it.
  20. I think the closest would be the braided hair used for Fennec Shand, but even then its not quite as accurate as it could be. I feel they should have created a new mould but perhaps there was budgeting restraints. As for what I think it was based off of, I suspect Lego was given inaccurate source material. The strikes of purple does give credence to your theory, and perhaps the purple tracksuit was initially intended to be a black bodysuit. its also possible Lego was given inaccurate source material for the hair. But thats being quite generous, as I mentioned in my previous comment, Shuri had long hair in Endgame but was given a short hair piece, so its always possible Lego cheaped out. And finally, I have to respectfully disagree with @Mandalorianknight, I think the sub in the movie had way too many transparent edges and for stability purposes Lego needed to build the sub using black sturdy pieces, I feel they did as best a job capturing the essence of that sub without making it too fragile made completely of window like pieces. I implore you to consider how week of a build that would have been for young kids playing with said set.
  21. So I just saw Black Panther Wakanda Forever and I wanted to give some non spoiler commentary on the 3 sets that accompanied this movie. 1. 76211 - Shuri’s sunbird was a great choice for a set but I felt the wings were inaccurate and should have protruded farther up from the back than they did. The wings on the rear of the build we got felt too compact. Additionally, Riri has long hair for the whole movie (braids) and I do not feel this hair piece is representative of how she appeared at all. Would have been nice to get a new braid piece for her. This is in the same vain as Shuri having short hair for the Infinity Saga wave despite having long hair in her Inifinity War appearance and they didn’t even print her long braid. 2. 76213 - this outift never made it into the movie (Shuri) and I won’t spoil what she does wear (even though it has no impact on the movie at large). Just going to speculate this was based on source material and maybe this was a fit Shuri was meant to wear, but regardless the fig we got here does not appear in any scene. Great recreation of Namor’s throne, tho. 3. 76214 - I wish we got more Atlanteans in this set. For $80 its a shame we got as few figures as we did. My sentiment for the wave at large is that we needed more Atlanteans. This set provided the perfect opportunity and 5 figures just feels cheap. Additionally, Shuri needed leg and possibly arm (but definitely leg) printing and the mostly black figure feels cheap in hindsight. All in all the builds for this movie were incredibly relevant to the plot and movie at large. My only complaints are that we needed more Atlanteans (and the largest set needed more figures in general, and provided the best opportunity for more Atlantean figures). And yes I know they were not called Atlantis in the movie. Finally, both Nakia and Riri had long hair in the movie, with Nakia sporting locks and Riri sporting braids. If we couldn’t get a new mould for each, it would have been nice to get a new mould for the locks and have them share it. But neither character sported short hair and paired with the largest set only having 5 figures, and the main protagonist not having leg printing, the only real complaint for the sets comes down to the figs. More blue skinned baddies were needed and the hair choices were inaccurate. Besides that a very solid wave for an incredible movie. Tis all.
  22. Scratch that, I found the witch hat! Beautiful, the post indicates that this was meant to be used for Vidiyo, I really hope they either make it available at BAM stations, or choose to reuse the mould for a cmf figure moving forward. The blue hair has an iridescence to it, and the combo has such a unique look to it all I’d love to own this someday.
  23. So not 2022 related but I recently got the Zayne’s Mino Creature set and I can’t help but think that everything about the set from the Earthy aesthetic to the Dungeon background lend this Rhino to being Cole’s more than Zane’s? I don’t keep up too much with the lore and I guess I don’t keep up with the show either, but does anyone else feel like, at least on a surface level, Cole’s element of Earth makes the Dungeon Rhino make more sense as his build as opposed to Zane? Isn’t Zane the Ice Ninja? And Cole the Earth Ninja? It just feels like the wrong character was assigned this animal. Lol
  24. Great read and good job on all these references. The comic art looks great to me and I wish they’d bring this theme back. So many opportunities to explore different cultures and regions, plus the ability to get creative with futuristic settings would give this theme a flexible set of sources material that only an Adventurers reboot could rival. I think a new generation of kids would really appreciate the concepts this theme could bring about. Thanks for sharing.
  25. Lord why is the new Grocery Store already retiring? I feel struggling to catch up with all the retiring sets this year and feel its a bit ridiculous that one is already on its way out. Feels like we just got it. Not to mention the new grocery cart, prosthetic leg, and corn mould all included. Do we reckon its poor sales or is it normal for some sets to last less than a year? I feel like I remember it being a summer release so if I’m correct thats just 6 months on the market. What with all the unique moulds and the great concept I’m honestly shocked its set to retire so soon.
