  1. I like this idea, maybe you can give it another try? Try to put in some functions and stuff, i think this looks like a good base for another go
  2. Good review~! Thanks for sharing. To me, it seems this little set has more and better construction pieces than the 9391, which has a lot of beams, but almost no options of connecting and making nice functions... I like the steering as well, very clever! (is this the smalles possible??????)
  3. This sounds great and i already like to participate! I agree with the mentioned things: a limited partcount enhances creativity, and also the number of participants. A MOC with 10.000 parts and limitless posibilities is most likely to win. There's no fun in that for people that dont have those options... Good luck!
  4. And a third model joins the show... A tracked dump-truck I finally managed to find a good use for that odd-shaped black piece, see below The back has some nice lights Hope you like it!
  5. At the last day of 2011 i received 9391 in the mail... So, after building the A and B models, i gave a go at producing something else. The set has some nice parts, but having limited options is a nice challenge. So, let's have some creativity flowing in 2012! The first, a woodlogger (correct name?) Functions: Steering, Crane and grabbing a log When you're done, fold the crane, and of you go! The second model, an airplane - the F-wing! (which stands, ofcourse, for Folding) Functions: Looking awesome! (see above), folding wings, and a stand See brickshelf for more picks! Happy building!
  6. I got a question for Paul (or anybody available to answer): The partslist, will that remain secret? Will it be indexed in rebrickable? I like to know if i can build it with the parts i have currently have. (i assume having 8070 will help a lot, maybe you can clear it out a bit) Last but not least, Lego should hire you to build a new supercar-set for them...
  7. I usally post in the technic forum, but man, this is looking so great! My dad is a train enthousiast, i think he will be amazed if i showed him this... I have seen quite some scenery but had to look twice to see this was build out of lego Great work
  8. And i don't understand why they take it so serious here... It's obvious that TLG can keep things silent. Somehow, every year it seems there are "confidential" pictures leaked online. Every year around the same time, and TLG never complains? Yeah, those pic's really are confidential
  9. In all the amazing MOC's around here i haven't gave this one much attention. But, those nice renders really make it look AWESOME! Can't wait for instructions or parts-list. Crowkillers/Paul, keep up the good work~!
  10. Yay! Nice story. You will get the hand in building with studless lego. I found that a good practice is taking a small set and try to make something nice out of it. Having limited parts and an idea to achieve is really challinging... Good luck!
  11. So, 345 views and only 5 replies... Kinda makes me think two things: 1) You guys are to lazy to respond 2) You are all writing an epic post and need time to think it out. In that case, you are all AWESOME! Come on fellas, there are a lot of great builders in this forum section. You all have an opinion. It's that time of year - looking back, making lists, listen to the top2000 - so, post your thoughts!
  12. This might be a bit off-topic, but Technicmad, i hope you keep up the good work on your site. I don't think legos own site is as great as yours. Yours is simple, plain and has nice features. So, this is my way to encourage you: keep up the good work!
  13. Nice idea. I watch justin.tv all the time for starcraft 2 matches Did it work out as intended?
  14. 2011 is almost over, so i thought it would be a nice idea to look back and share your thoughts! The intention of this topic: 1) share your MOC's (in 1 picture) or praise other MOC-ers 2) share your thoughts about the 2011 sets 3) tell us what went awesome, what went wrong or your flaws while building and creating 4) give us a good/funny/awesome (lego)story (example: you come back from your dark-ages in technic-lego) 5) a sneak preview for 2012? Please post and take your time to write something... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will kick-of myself! 1) I made 4 MOC's this year, two of my own design, one from Grohl (his harrier, which is by the way AWESOME) and added stuff to the 8258 B-model. I'm really amazed by a lot of the MOC's that passed by this year. Supercars, construction equipment. Guys, i'm really amazed! I can't wait to see what the MOC-ing in 2012 will bring... Pic's: My ferrari sharknose - unfinished, not satisfied with... My wheeled excavator. Again, unfinished, but a good attempt. (picture to big, see link My link) 2) The 2011 sets. Well, can't tell you much about it, since i only bought the 8070 supercar. I like this car very much, never had a nice sweet vehicle. The 8110 unimog is amazing, but i have my doubts on buying it. Maybe when it's cheaper... Overal, the sets are good looking, and well designed. 3 + 4) Well, this year, in june i came out of my dark-ages of technic lego. Since i had little expierence on MOC-ing and stuff.. Well, see the results above. 2 unfinished MOC's. I really like getting back in this hobby and i think my moc-skills are getting better and better. Right now, i'm building something big, but i will not reveal it yet. It takes a lot of time to build, since i want to do it good. 5) For 2012, i like what i've seen so far. 9394 is on its way to my house. On a sidenote, i like the rescue helicopter as well, so i can't wait to see more from it... Have a nice 2012!
  15. People, shall we merge the 1h and 2h 2012 topics into one sticky topic called '2012 technic models'? This is getting a bit confusing. Also, one nice Topic Start with pictures, links and stuff like that will be highly appreciated! Please let me know
  16. pictures at legopictureHQ: Thoughts at technicbricks: technicbricks blog Helicopter looks great (but very red and yellow), but i need me some high quality pictures Off-roader looks nice aswell Edit: See 1h 2012 topic Copy People, shall we merge the 1h and 2h 2012 topics into one sticky topic called '2012 technic models'? This is getting a bit confusing. Also, one nice Topic Start with pictures, links and stuff like that will be highly appreciated! Please let me know
  17. Money, lazyness, maybe the same reason there aren't two in 8258 (though i dont know that reason... )
  18. I ordered 9394 jet plane yesterday. hope it will arrive soon. (cost me €30, which is good price i think) I like the looks of 9397 log-truck. What will the price be? in the range of 8070? (Paul, i think you're right, but i fear that sets may become "a lot of pins with some useful parts...", or am i wrong here...) Edit: I asked to pin this topic. Second, favor for the topicstarter: Can you update the startpost with pictures and set information? Many thanks...
  19. Mention the country please. Toys R Us in the netherlands only has like 12 technic sets and no sale... Would it be worth to buy it in the USA and let it ship to the Netherlands? Anyone has experience with that??
  20. - Where/how did you get the set? - Price? - You have other sets from 2012? - Is it worth getting? - I saw the motor fitting in a picture, is it really attached on the rear? I'm not "nieuwsgierig" or anything Edit: can you do a review of the whole set? in it's own topic? You can answer my questions in that. This topic isnt clean anymore...)
  21. I like the looks of the plane (yes, except the front), but the price has to be good for me to buy it. Like the functionality though. That pick-up truck... i dunno. That motor placement reminds me of old technic sets, where it is more like an extra. But i like to point out that it is nice that not every single set comes with a battery box and a m-motor, raising its price.
