TSATS - Floating Crane
captainmib replied to captainmib's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks guys! -
So, here is my final entry for the contest! Functions: 4 propellers, 2 at the back, 2 at the bow, powered by a 6 cilinder engine. Hand-controlled rudder Crane in two sections - top section and A-frame - both seperate operated by cables and pulling device And a nice mistake while making the pictures... Who spots it? Frame in sections (not 100% module-build but it's getting close) Hope you like it! -------------------------------------------- I think this was a really nice contest. Well organised, prices and great entries! I think the amount of entries and the quality rocks the boat! Old topic

I don't have the panels at the moment, so i think i will leave it open. Thanks for the comments so far. I'm currently trying to fix all the functions, which is not easy. The wiring of this is giving me a headache -

Looking great! Nice entry. You have a picture of the inside/frame? -
So, here is my entry for the contest. Not entirely finished, but it's a good step ahead in the right direction. At first i wanted to build a submarine, but the lack of inspiration was hurting my build time. So, i decided to build a floating crane. I have seen a lot of them in the harbor of Rotterdam and thought it would be fun to make one of those. Still, i have some problems to find a solution for. Anyway, Pics!

Why should technic ships be realistic (without holes) while al technic vehicles have holes? I don't see any cars outside that have holes... I think it's truly possible to build nice ships out of lego. Just take a look at the contest right now. And if that doesnt convince you, take a look at the 8425-1 B-model: I surely hope Lego will produce a ship in the future. To widen it's model range, to be new and refreshing...

Panther

Wow! The first seconds of this video really impressed me. And the "F... Yeah" made me laugh What a great vehicle. The rollcage/outside looks very cool with the strange angles. Good job! -

Red wheels are looking awesome! Such a shame you really need to order something like this yourself, they don't come standard from lego. Otherwise, not every vehicle could use red rims, so only if you own a few sets this is possible Nice addittion to your model though keep up the sweet work -
I think the crawler colors make more sense in the video, but at first it seems more like a clown... The performance seems nice aswell. Good handling, steering and enough power. This set makes more sense by every bit of information we get. (although i dont know if i will buy it...) That helicopter, WOW!, that is looking awesome. I think they managed to implement the real features of helicopter steering as it looks to me... Can't wait to see more!
