  1. The purple looks like the old purple seen for example in late 90s TECHNIC sets. I'd love to see that color returning as I have never really liked the current dark purple. The jester looks quite medicore. Gotta see the accesories to decide wether buy one or not. EDIT: And hey, the pilot was awesome, one of TLG's best moustaches.
  2. Thanks for your kind words bros! They are sort of a heeled boots, yes, without separate heel part.
  3. Many of action figure forum users seem to complain about the new chima chest armor having only one connection point... I think one ball socket is fine enough, but piece never looked very manly! This MOC started as a ordinary (well, not really ordinary) steampunk adventure gal (see concept art made on train), but after giving her a beret everything started to look so artistic, so I made a painting, a stand and paiting accessories. Everyone likes that sort of stuff, right? The figure itself uses quite a many parts from CHI Laval. The chest piece is the key element here, but I think that the add-on armors work quite well on the knees, too. The hair is from Laval too - it's not supposed to be on fire, but I think the bright color works quite well with the white skin (never enough tan, sadly) and earthy steampunk tones. There's more stuff on my blog too, and some extra shots on Flickr and Brickshelf.
  4. Series 1: Crash Test Dummy (Everyone seems to hate him, but I like the oddness) Series 2: Explorer (simple fig, but with great head and Adventurers rock anyway) Series 3: Fisherman (He got the new beard, which had turned out quite common) Series 4: Viking (great parts pack, nice head and printed shield etc.) Series 5: Gladiator (wonderful helmet, nice accesories anyway and a printed arm) Series 6: Highlander (new sword, but not much special, never liked this series too much) Series 7: Bagpiper (this was hard! This series had lots of awesome figs (also Hippie and Viking Woman) But bagpiper was the highlight. Series 8: Diver (easily! One of the worst series, but this is one of the best figs ever) Series 9: Forestwoman (This series was simply the best, but forestwoman was the most interesting one, nice head print and shield, and a cool hairpiece) Series 10: Grandpa (Great "hair", brilliant head and very useful torso) Series 11: Bobby (Stache!) Extra: Movie: Abraham Lincoln.
  5. And minifigure series 11 was not released in Northern Europe and Benelux. I bought Laval Yesterday. A bit boring set, but some of the parts are great. Despite the chunkiness the chest armor is great, I'm working on a steampunk character using it. The printed parts and the new armor attachments are worth noting too. I just wish that the neon-orange shells would be dark red... But you can't get everything. I doubt I will buy any other sets of this line. One new constraction set in three years is quite fine.
  6. The wizard is blue. My career is ruined. The battle goddess and Dino tracker look awesome though.
  7. Neat build! Chocolate and fudge seems to be the most popular sorts according that seller's outfit.
  8. Series 8 diver had dark bley 1x1 plates on his legs to present sinkers, so it isn't impossible.
  9. Thanksagain. Mungus looks a lot better here than in the previous pics. Definitely cool looking character, but the MOCer inside me (who is around fifty times bigger than the set fan inside me) cried because the asymmetrical limbs ruins the parts selection - Except if I buy two of this guy. That might be wise, if I wasn't as stingy as I am. Gotta wish for clearance, though I have never seen the last wave of ultrabuilds in any sort of sale. The head is great, brown pieces are always welcome and the weapon is really brlliant, one of the best in the history of constraction. The torso is creative and surprisingly custom-oriented. Now if it only had ben10 feet in same color, two printed shells (excellent for another tribal Toas) and two brown shells. But no.
  10. ThanksagainVBBN. This guy has ton of cool parts but in terrible quantities. Two wonderful wing pieces and two dark tan shells is almost plausible, but only one awesome printed shell and half of the bones lacking armor of any sort? Add to that that I don't find lot of uses to the odd transparent parts (okay, they look cool, but they are quite extraordinary...) and Vultureman stays in the shop.
  11. Thanks for the review again! The link on the frontpage is broken though, leads to average TECHNIC forum MOC thread. Not very big fan of this guy, having only 1 new armor, no printed parts and lack of interesting recolors. The feet are ace though, new claw pieces look useful. Hopefully they turn out common and I can bricklink them and left the panther on a shelf.
  12. Great review, thanks VBBN. On MOCer's perspective this seems worse than Laval, as there are two new armors, glorious printed shells, axes and new chest plate on the both sets. However, Cragger's four dark green shells and golden basic chestplate can never match Laval's shield, dark red armor and new recolored feet. And that's sad because crocodiles are, for the name of Offler, definitely cooler than lions.
  13. Oh boy, this is wicked. Lovely build mate. The head rocks.
  14. Yeah, pretty much, with or course more details as usually in collectable minifigs (or today's minifigs anyway). Runes robes, new scroll or bottle or something like that. Light bley fisherman beard would probably be too much to ask, but we can always hope.
  15. Yeah, but red/dark red wizard hat has never been released on a set; there's a few test pieces around though, but they are getting rare and expensive.
  16. Please please please let the wizard to be red (or dark red). The red wizard hats are something like 20€ on Bricklink and I'd love the get few for Discworld wizards. I also hope that Piggy Guy's head/headgear could be used on a Porco Rosso minifig, but it might be to much to ask. Warrior goddess (valkyria?), creepy girl and hun sound interesting. I wish that rock star would have guitar/bass that is not Flying V.
  17. Hooray! Probably Benny gives me some inspiration to finish four-years-old Classic Space WIP on my shelf... Congrats to winners, this was a great contest!
  18. Here, from Pandora's seaside house review: I'm glad if the reign of this terrible beast is over.
  19. May I present you two mighty Toa warriors of North, Toa Korpraun of stone and Toa Muothka of earth: Toa Korpraun is protector of Matoran village Step of Tahtorak, which is the biggest village in the northern parts of the island of Bio-Klaani. Korpraun wears-multi-colored armor with flags representing a rising sun over the icy fells. He has numerous spears for different battle tactics. The outlook of this MOC was inspired by Sami culture. More on Flickr and Cyclopic Bricks. Toa Muothka is a bit more uncivil warrior. This bearded Toa is short and strong and has a pair of antlers on his mask. Muothka's people lives on the fells and gains living from reindeer herding. There is still Graalok-worshippers among them, members of a cult centered around mighty ash bears instead of Mata Nui. More on Flickr and Cyclopic Bricks. These MOCs are from the Klaanon project which is a massive multi-writer bionicle-ish novel. Hope you liked them!
  20. Impressive! The scenery is very realistic, and I'm especially glad to see MOC like that with purist LEGO weapons. I also like how every soldier has different face, there are many expressions that are just perfect.
  21. Oh, the new TECHNIC piece is glorious. Gotta get a handful. There seems to also be lot of cool stuff going on the figures, guess I have to bricklink some stuff after these are released. The new phoenix armor looks fantastic. It's also nice to see there are leg prints without toes or claws as they work well with regular minifigures too. I'd wish to see the torsos without the armors, though. Hopefully someone does reviews soon.
  22. What about Bricklink? There are several European sellers selling the previous wave. Most of them likely ship to US.
  23. Here's the newest dwarf on my series. Kili is one of the younger dwarves, brother of Fili and nephew of Thorin. He has only a stubble, which was quite hard to achieve with bricks. Young and handsome face is more challenging to build than caricature-esque heavy-bearded heads of some older dwarves of the gang. Kili has his dwarf sword (not very sharp here though) and a bow and quiver. The quiver's strap is done using TECHNIC chain links. Check Flickr and Cyclopic Bricks for more. You can see the rest of my dwarves here. Enjoy!
  24. I'm liking the profile here, especially on the first picture. Small upper legs with armored lower legs make interesting, dream-like figure. The mask (or helmet or face) works quite well too. I'd probably fill the gaps on the torso, though.
