Really nice entry and spectacular photos. On the pre-mutated Hero, I like the mask choice (And gotta love the fish connected to it) and use of lime Rury and Krana as a pieces of armour, but somehow the proportions of the limbs are a bit off. A thicker armoring on the legs especially could look good. The harpoon work well here. But the fish is incredible. The brain slug is inclulded well in the build, I don't own any of those but it seems a tricky part to build with. Toxic Reapa''s head is another great piece use as the mouth and use of same parts than in the Hero really ices the cake.

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Pate-keetongu replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
When it comes to Azog's size, I don't think the difference between him and Uruk-Hai is that big; Saruman is 2 meters tall and Lurtz appears to be the same size. According to WETA's Creatures and Characters book Azog is 2.15 meters tall, which I believe doesn't require Woody legs. But it's still quite big difference from dwarves (and, of course, Bilbo), who are a bit too tall compared to basic minifigs in brick form.- 7,499 replies

I posted my entry, but I suppose the entry topic is not up yet? Also, as we should post a <800x600 entry pic to the entry topic, should it have both pre-mutation and mutanted alien?

Gambrodon lizards are herbivorous critter from their native planet Runksukka. They are also very popular pets in Makuhero City because of their cute appearance, playfulness of a puppy and curiosity of five-year-old. But when hideous brain slug attacks and attaches itself in the poor lizard's head, it launches a very fast and nasty evolution... And so, in blink of an eye, a cute pet lizard evolved into a terrible dinosaur. The brick-built brain slug attached into the beast's occiput. A brick-built one would have been quite hard to use nicely and I don't even have one. Back view. I was suprised how well those two-toe feet worked on HF joints. The tubing on the torso add both robot-ness and natural curves. The energy-bolt-throwing tail is directly connected to the Brain slug. It also added a nice color splash on the tail to balance the color scheme. Comments and critism appreacited. If the entry violates any contest rules, I wish the staff would notify that as fast as possible.

That's a cute little vessel, nice to see those Aquazone parts in use. I especially like the hood, it's very innovative.

Sounds promising! I don't have that much HF sets, and no brain slugs, but I still belive I could throw something together! Wait wait, should there be "alien" instead of "hero"? Just to make things more clear!

MOC Steampunk Qwena: The new outfit
Pate-keetongu replied to Pate-keetongu's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Thanks for comments, guys! Yes, I know what you mean. I'm not so happy with the overall shape of the knee either, but the issue with the metru feet design was worse with the old dress, which revealed more of the upper leg. As the metru foot is a rather big and odd-shaped (most Bionicle pieces are) piece, it made the inner side of the leg look bad. No it's fixed with a cost of the thigh's curve. But I might work on it later and try some other alternatives. Slizer foot could work. -
Some of you might remember the old version of this MOC. I wasn't completely satisfied with that, so I ordered Queen Anne's revenges's sails from Bricklink and built a new Steampun-style dress. I also rebuilt the neck area, which was quite terrible in the old version. There are some updates on the boots and hat too. More on my blog Cyclopic Bricks and Brickshelf gallery. Enjoy!

The next dwarf on my project, Dori, brother of Nori and Ori: This was actually quite a fast built. The color scheme isn't the easiest one, but I think it came up quite well. The head was especially enjoyable challenge to build with all that beard greeble. More backstory on Cyclopic Bricks and Flickr.

GroundWeb MK45-Toad is an excellent unit to increase firepower of mobile ground forces. Packed with heavy D4K-cannon and powered by seven AAA batteries, "The Bufo bufo" can crawl through the deadliest frontiers. This MOC I began with those binocular tracks a long time ago, and evolved into a small tank, and then met a mortar-helmet soldier and they lived happily ever after. Feedpack appreciated. Enjoy!

What kind of swords fit in "4620394" scabbard
Pate-keetongu replied to Alfadas's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I belive the new Highlander/LOTR greatsword fits, but I don't (unfortunately) have the scabbard piece so I can't really try. -
LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Pate-keetongu replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'm not so sure about this. Sure, it is only released on a licenced set so far, but it does not necessarily mean the mold itself is licensed; Dwalin's beard/hair design doesn't likely have any copyrights. Many hairpieces, for example Dastan's, Mutt's or Irina Spalko's hair, have been originally been only in licensed set, but have later circulated into LEGO's own themes. Of course pieces such Darth Vader's helmet that have their own copyrights can't be released on the unlicensed sets.- 7,499 replies

Thanks, everyone! I have some ideas for the big-boned one already' date=' but have to wait LUGBULK order to get olive green pieces and Bricklink some orange for the beard before I can build him. Did already, Balin is my favourite of these dwarves. You can see him here.

Next addition to my Hobbit Dwarves series, King Thorin: Thorin, heir of Durin and exile king of Kingdom under the Mountain. This dwarf was interesting build because the amount of detail on the costume. I'm particularly happy with the armor mail and bracers. I also built a bit less sharp version of Thorin's sword Orcrist. More on my blog Cyclopic Bricks, Flickr and Brickshelf. Thanks for watching!

Some of you might remember my models of Hobbit dwarver Balin, Dwalin and Oin I posted here some time ago. No I've made fourth one, vegetarian toymaker dwarf Bifur, who has an axe blade on his skull. It was quite and interesting build with two-colored beard and diagonal patterns on robe and beard. Longer story on Cyclopic bricks and Flickr photostream. Thanks for watching!

Thanks everyone! Glad you like these hairy little men. I added the third Dwarf on the first post, check him and tell what you think! Could some kind moderator or regulator or who ever has the proper EB-magic powers change the topic's name so it would consist all three? Thank you!

Thanks, everyone! I'd like to see that too, and I'm planning to buy Unexpected Gathering to get Balin and Dwalin. I don't usually buy big sets (79003 costs 100€ here) but Bag End is especially good one. But I have not seen in anywhere here; it's on the local catalog and said to be released on December 2012, but none of the local stores have them... Got to continue searching.

Thank you! You will see more. There's a hint about the next one on my blog, and I have ideas for more, but I needs some more bricks... Tan headlight bricks especially. EDIT: Except that it looks like I have at least 11 tan headlights. The unexpected party might get bigger.

Inspired by the first Hobbit movie I built these two dwarves, brothers Balin and Dwalin. Weta did such a great job with the dwarf designs, and it was interesting yet hard to build these. Dwalin also has a movable arms and couple of battle axes on his back. You can read more about these guys on Cyclopic Bricks. Feedback appreciated! EDIT: Their cousin Oin was late for the party! May I intoduce you to this brave northern dwarf with quite a bad hearing? More about techniques etc. at Cyclopic Bricks.

I'm planning to give Dwalin brown epauletteles to make him a bit taller. They will (Hopefully) remind from the fur cloth he has on his shoulders. I watched the movie two day ago and yes, it was awesome. Especially the troll scene and Riddles in the Dark.

That's wonderful review, I'm happy that Ori has a reddish brown hair.

It's not Balrog to my eye, looks more like an armored dragon from Fanatsy Era Troll Warship without head. I think that Balrog is on the shelf between wooden drawers, left from Buzz and Woody.
