  1. Nice work! Thanks for posting the WIP. Love to see your progress.
  2. I am pretty sure that most (modern) parts are in LDD. Are you sure you are using the extended part set when creating a new model? What do you mean by control arms and hubs? Do you have pictures of these parts? Or you are building with very old parts. Guess you need to start Bricklinking
  3. No it doesn't. That's considered background or scenery
  4. You might already know this, but you can use Bricklink to buy separate parts. http://www.bricklink.com/ It's your best source for new parts....and your wife won't even notice
  5. I that case, the 8109 wasn't such a good example It's 1115 pieces, so you can only use half of them. http://www.brickset....ail/?Set=8109-1 Looking at this model with 1115 pieces I realize it's a pretty tough contest
  6. This wonderful book is avaiable, at least the eBook is available for download. I have browsed and it seems like a wonderful book for the novice to intermediate Mindstorms builder. http://nostarch.com/ev3lab
  7. Thanks Philo. Nice work! Great to have the comparison page updated with the new motors.
  8. Hi, welcome to EB! Nice concept for the suspension. If you could manage to make this with stronger parts, it could work very well for some models.
  9. Do you need further assistance? Let me know.
  10. Hehe hope you can live up to my, by now, huge expecations!! I will be there on Saturday. Sorry for this off topic intermezzo guys.
  11. I have been waiting for you to create a (new) transformer since I saw your Youtube proof of concept a few years ago. It's probably still in my Top-5 all time favorite Technic creations. So yeah....I will be visiting you at Legoworld!
  12. This is a nice idea! I was hoping for Mindstorms to blend more with PF, but there will probably be a very good reason TLG decided not to do this. (maybe pmichiel is right and the answer is really simple) A separate power supply, with a small controller, possibly one without a screen, with the option to connect a screen. This way it would all be way more modular. The controller should have built in BT and WiFi and should come with USB host and client port. Overall I am very happy with both products, but this would have been great!
  13. This is an outstanding supercar! Very well done...again
  14. Personally I think you are jumping to conclusions a bit here. In my opinion it would add something to Lego products....namely, blinking lights! Wouldn't this make a nice addition on some of the construction models? I have merged the topics, thanks.
  15. This truly is an amazing building. Sir, you have done a wonderful job!
  16. True! That's why I can't wait to see your entry
  17. Although I would really love to say yes, I need to say no. 3 transformer cars are 3 transformer cars, in the same way as 3 cars not being allowed. The point is to build 3 different models. So identical models no, but you could do 3 different models, which transform into robots, like a Car, a Plane and a Truck. Or you cold hold your thoughts and wait for a transformer contest, which I will surely try to organize in the near future
  18. Other members might have better suggestions, but since I haven't built a truck cab before, this is all I can suggest Maybe you could post some "failures", so we can give better advice.
  19. I have no experience with building truck cabs, but my strategy would be to download instructions for this model: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8109-1 Or this one: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8041-1 Or this one: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=42008-1 Looking at these three models, and building instructions, you should be able to replicate some parts of it.

  21. Sharp!! I think you don't need to worry about the part count too much. This seems like a perfect small-to-medium sized model to me Thanks for posting the WIP. Reminds me I need to create the official entry topic.
  22. By old topic you mean the General Discussion topic? This topic is meant to be revived, so no harm done.
  23. They are using the Hitechnic IRLink Sensor, this one: http://www.hitechnic.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=NIL1046 The blocks are at the bottom of the page. PF IRLink Block - Controls Power Functions motors with IR Control unit Train IRLink Block - Controls LEGO R/C trains RCX IRLink Block - Transmits commands to a Mindstorms RCX and receives RCX sensor readings There's a special block for trains.
