  1. Hi Nikki, Welcome to EB! When asking a question, you should try to be as clear as possible. Instead of saying you saw A video, you might want to include a link to (or embed) THE video. Do you have a link?
  2. That's what I meant....sort of.
  3. By flaws you mean things you would do differently? I think most of us are pretty satisfied with this voting setup. It avoids people joining, creating some useless posts and then never coming back again after the contest. Most important thing is that new members are eligible to take part in this contest and win great prizes! And new members can vote in next contest, just like you! Although you may be absolutely right, we have had quite some discussion about the current part limit rule and it seems that we have reached an understanding and everybody is happy with it. So we will keep the current limit for this contest. Sure, no problem! That's part of the setting. Could turn out great! No thanks. We would like to see more and better entries, so a little more time might do the trick. Good luck with the contest. Looking forward to your entry!
  4. I guess Model Team and Creator are pretty much the same when it comes to most of the vehicles.
  5. This is by no means a full explanation, but Model Team is somewhere in the middle of Technic and Creator. It's based on Technic, but finished with studded parts, to give it a more "finished" look. The Power Puller is Technic. It has nothing to do with the figure being included or not. Check out the Model Team models and pay attention to the studded parts, which give it a different (more realistic/finished) look than pure Technic. Feel free to correct or elaborate on this description. Check these models on Brickset: http://www.brickset.com/browse/themes/?theme=Model%20Team
  6. It's new to me! Tan to indicate a new length? Nice part BTW! And nice find.
  7. It's allowed, but keep in mind it's a Technic contest.
  8. Or just keep 'em small to medium sized
  9. That's exactly what's appreciated! Check out the plane with 499 parts http://www.brickset....ail/?Set=9394-1 Weight = 0.99Kg
  10. As long as there are 3 models, it's okay
  11. Yes, it's ready. From the manual: Connections and Placement Connect GlideWheel-AS connector to Sensor Port of your NXT.
  12. The contest description is: Create three small-to-medium sized models which relate to or interact with each other. Blakbird's answer was spot on!
  13. Totally forgot about the Mindsensors rotation sensor. Nice suggestion!
  14. I am afraid I haven't got permission to distribute the programs, so I can't share them yet. Thanks for the compliment. I am by no means an expert, but I like to help my fellow Mindstorms and Technic enthusiasts
  15. HiTechnic sensors are great! They work properly and they match the Lego form factor. However, they are rather pricey. I have used the caster ball from the EV3 educational set as a weight to "preload" the gears. However, this will only work if you can use gravity as a force vector.
  16. As far as I'm concerned; when someone posts a WIP, their idea can be copied/stolen/borrowed. Posting a WIP is at your own risk. So don't worry about it too much. Sure, no problem.
  17. Regarding the video....go nuts! Do a full-feature movie with real voice acting (Do include some static pictures please) No painting. Chrome is an exception. You could order the part, or make sure we don't notice There's no owner of an idea. If you think your idea can be stolen, don't create a WIP topic. Easy as that. And if I could compete, I would avoid the car and trailer concept
  18. You can use max 500 PF motors per model Just kidding. Read the rules and the rest of this topic and it will all be clear! I'm expecting a lot from you Game on!
  19. Your two cents are exactly what the initial part count limit was all about! So let's stick to this. Max 500 per model, but chain links and tracks don't count. As for the trailer....you can use less parts. The 500 is a max limit, no need to use them all. I will create the entry topic in a bit. No digital entries. I will create a new topic, where every contestant will make a post with their entry. If you want to show your work in progress you can start a new topic, starting with [TRIPLE]. But don't forget to post your entry in the Entry topic! Indeed! I would like to say that you are allowed to build them separately, but the contest is all about the three models working or acting together, so I'm afraid I need to say no. Sorry mate. If you think out of the box, you might need very few parts for a great set! It will be an open competition. You are all voting, so I'm counting on objective votes We might do an anonymous contest in the future to see which setup is better. But part of the fun is the open spirit (imho).
  20. My brain is crushing on the part limit rule Sounds like a fun entry!
  21. Indeed. But shouldn't the MotorOverload method do this for you?
  22. I was thinking about the trailer and I was hoping you wouldn't ask Where does this end? You need to limit the pulling vehicle to around 500 (maybe 600), so it will be 600-500-300. But let me think about this and come back to you guys with some clear answers tomorrow. Presentation in actual environment is not mandatory, but it's appreciated. You don't need to travel to Alaska if you're making a snow groomer
