Songwm Very impressive armies. This is what I planned on doing when I had my army put together. Have a nice, organized setting to intimidate the opposing armies. As impressive as they all are, I really like the orc army (since I have no orcs) and the Black Falcon army. I've always wanted a larger Falcon army, but that probably won't happen. I only have around 17 or so from the early castle sets. The fact that you have so many is impressive. The fact that you have so many for multiple factions is impressive-er

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
TheLegoDr replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
The figures look great! The more I see The Pearl the more I want it. I wasn't too interested early on, but now I really want it. Too many legos, not enough monies. -
What castle factions/subtheme do you want?
TheLegoDr replied to K-Nut's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I would agree on more civilians of course. I like the idea of more ship based ideas, but other than the small ships they did early in the Crusaders era I think they reserve most of the ships for pirates since obviously kingdoms never had a naval fleet... I love forestmen and wolfpack, but I wouldn't want them to rehash them. I like them must the way they are and would hate for them to be ruined by bringing them back. Others will disagree, but the same goes for pirates. They recreated the redcoats and some people love them, but I much prefer the older version. I guess it is just nostalgia talking. But I will also agree with a more barbaric theme. -
Have: Black Seas Barracuda (6285), Imperial Flagship (6271), Imperial Flagship (10210), Caribbean Clipper (6274), Renegade Runner (6268) Biggest want: Skull's Eye Schooner (6286) I am super excited to build the new Imperial Flagship this Christmas!

Quichybo Thank you for the response. It does look like it has some nice features. I only looked at the Ostrich set because it was on clearance and it had ostriches!. I didn't look at any of the other Prince of Persia sets. That'd explain why the torsos were unfamiliar to me. Now I am kind of regretting not buying some of those other sets on clearance since they are no longer available in my area. Oh well.

No one has posted on here for a while! I finally found some dwarves from the CMF series 5. I now have 5 of them to ally with the new dragon knights since they have dragon wings on their torso. And then 2 gladiators that will probably become part of a barbarian horde of some sort. I probably will use a different helmet though for that setting. I love their swords though.

I really like this group of people. Where are the torsos from? And dark blue-gray works really well for the arms I think.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
TheLegoDr replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It is good to finally see pictures. That is a lot of females, which is surprising but that is what the people want. I will agree that the Roman will be hard to find due to people hoarding him, which is great since I only want one anyway. I'm going to stick with minotaurs and highlanders personally. That is the beauty of the CMF, everyone wants something different. But the statue of liberty looks great. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion

That's how I found all of the figures I wanted, was just by feeling the helmet/headpiece. We went to a different Wal-mart last night and found two unopened boxes that my wife and I felt through. I found 2 gladiators and 5 dwarves! I was super pumped. Now I can wait until series 6 comes out for the figures I want. I will stand by the feel method though. That has been the easiest by far. -
Both look exquisite. I am still partial to the sand green, but sand blue is definitely growing on me. I want to get some sand blue bricks, but they aren't the cheapest at our disposal.

Very impressive train. I like the design and number of cars. The color usage is superb as well.
-
Very neat build. It looks like a real building. Good usage of brown pieces.
-
Really neat gold train. I haven't seen that many gold pieces before so that is impressive. I like how it is, but if you changed the engine to a different color scheme, but kept the passenger car the same I think it would look really realistic.

Not a bad idea. Instead of sitting in a cell somewhere, they can be put to work! On the other hand, I might want to choose being hanged instead of having my legs nibbled on. Good MOC!

Forget keeping up with the Joneses, keeping up with Madoka will make you even more broke! I feel like I should get a second job just looking at that army! Very impressive army size. I am currently at number 13 Lion knights haha. But, believe you me, they are a well-trained 13. And since I've missed castle for the last 16 years or so, I never got into the Vladek soldiers. Both armies are extremely impressive.

Does Kingdoms live up to Castle expectations?
TheLegoDr replied to K-Nut's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think your wife would get along extremely well with mine. I think she is a little sick/annoyed hearing about legos all the time. At least, I found this forum to help vent that information! -
The sheer size of everything is impressive. Then you add in the detailing of the walls, columns, and ceiling and it gets more impressive. I also was thinking of combining those different sand green heads to add some variety to the orc army.

Wow, I've never seen Lego commercials before! Thanks, I've been watching youtube for a while now because of it. I'm hooked!

I am amazed at how many of these have been made already! Keep up the suggestions since we might have a good chance of seeing them in the future! I'll try to come up with some soon too.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
TheLegoDr replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I finally found series 5 in my town in Nebraska, USA. It was at Wal-mart away from the other Legos so I almost missed them. I checked TRU and Shopko (first time ever being there) and they didn't carry either of them at the moment. We just randomly went to Wal-mart and they surprisingly had them. My wife and I used the feel method (forget about dots!) and found almost all of the ones I wanted. Still missing the Gladiator and the Dwarf which happens to be the one I want the most, of course. But the feel method worked 87% of the time, unfortunately one was mistaken as something else so I have two of the Royal Guards now. Oh well. And only one was mistaken on series 4 a few months ago, so I'd say the feel method is the way to go if you have the time to stand there. And they were $2.99 here, which is $0.50 cheaper than series 4 was at TRU a few months ago. So needless to say I was excited to see that decrease in price. -
I might have some faded pink Lion knight torsos in my unopened castle set. Otherwise I think I overlook most faults. I had the non-chrome gold bars from POTC and didn't notice until everyone was complaining about it..

I just recently purchased my first Vikings, so I know about costs. Plus, I'd rather build up a different army, but I did want to get a small Viking ensemble as another group to look at. And I will agree on how great it is having a supportive wife! She helped me sort out some of the CMFs last night to get the right ones.

Hoboman Nice find. I have been watching a lot of older factions on ebay, but have yet to bid on any of them. How many Falcons do you have?

Very memorable scene and the Lego rendition looks as close to it as Lego-ly possible! The teeth/mouth looks especially impressive keeping it all together like that.
