  1. I always loved seeing those diaramas. It made me like the sets that much more. But It would be really difficult to remake them just for the price of the figures alone!
  2. This might need to go to the buy/sell/trade forum. But it sounds like a good idea. Some people want to build up other aspects of their army and have excesses elsewhere.
  3. I always considered Crusaders, Falcons, Black Knights, and Forestmen to be in the same time period, with the wolfpack being an intermediary between this generation and the next (involving Royal Knights and Dragon Masters). I thought I had more Dragon Master sets, but it turns out I only had Mephisto's Magic Workshop. And I didn't get any Royal Knights sets since that was the beginning of my dark age. That is also probably why I consider the original sets to be all linked since I quit Lego after that time period. Interesting concept with the Dungeon Masters splitting from the Black Monarch.
  4. I like the roof/chimney area the most. But overall it looks like a good build with a nice little backstory. Keep up the brilliant work.
  5. For the piece count, it isn't too badly priced. But of course, if everything was cheaper, life would be great. And I do agree 100% about it coming with a shield. For some reason, I have about 7 extra Dragon shields for my army, but I'm lacking almost 10 Lion shields. Not good. I saw this in the Target Christmas aisle and my wife immediately grabbed 3 as stocking stuffers without my asking. I wouldn't mind picking up some more since I don't have much in the way of Lion archers. I do think it is a neat little set. You get some weapons, some tree parts, and a soldier. And we all need more flame pieces naturally...
  6. Sorry for bumping, but I hadn't noticed this topic until now. The 2010 Harry Potter line, especially The Burrow. I was super pumped to get those. I was dabbling in LDD that previous summer, but those were the first Lego I had purchased since 1996 probably. Since then I don't even want to add up how much I've spent on the hobby. The entire Harry Potter line, the Kingdoms line, the POTC line, some PoP, some other discontinued sets from Pirates and Castle, plus countless Bricklink orders...all in less than a year . Yikes!
  7. I enjoy reading about the past factions. It always makes me feel nostalgic, which is why these factions are very much alive in my house. I recently rebuilt 6086 Black Knight's Castle and am still in awe. I love the design and color scheme. I always wanted the Black Monarch Castle, but the Black Knight castle is still the most superior castle to date, even with the raised baseplate. I have never had a problem with the baseplate on any of the sets (King's Mountain Fortress or any of the Imperial pirate sets). It is true that the Knights never had their own identity, but I like the chain mail look. I would prefer if they were more uniform in that regard, which is why I changed the blue armed chain mail into Crusaders and the blue torso chain mail into Falcons and left the red or black armed chain mail for the Knights. By doing that, I still have 20 Black Knights, so I think it works out okay. The oval shield was/is very welcome, as is the barding. I have 3 of those original bardings and am quite fond of them. As much as I like the new Lion kingdom and Dragons, I will always prefer the Crusaders, Falcons, Knights, and Forestmen/Wolfpack over anything TLG will release. But I welcome the new pieces/colors/designs with open arms. Looking at your post, what is that last set? They had different barding for the Crusaders????? That would have been amazing! I saw an early version of some castle set where they had the oval shield for the Crusaders also... hmm Great post. Sorry for the wordy response. Keep up the good work.
  8. I rarely look at the Star Wars forum, but this thing is crazy awesome. Instantly recognizable. The sheer size + detail is legen-wait for it - dary.
  9. I am a fan of this creation. I really like the pearl gold fish as detailing on the back. But overall, it looks great!
  10. That is interesting, I hadn't thought of that. Unless they state that they are two completely unrelated figures, I would think the red coast must be British. That debate might be settled.
  11. I really like the arch detailing on the building on the far right. Looks magnificent! Great layout.
  12. There is nothing wrong with feeling packets. The blind packaging is a great marketing ploy because people will buy multiples of figures either thinking they have the one they want or just random purchasing. You at least have the opportunity to "feel" the package to an extent to know what that particular figure is. Lego is still selling multiple figures by people feeling or not feeling, so it should not matter to them any. If they didn't want people to feel, they wouldn't be in a pliable poly bag and instead would be in mini-boxes. Oh boy, did I just give them an idea? In this world, you either buy randomly, feel the package and get what you want, or you buy on bricklink/ebay for the figure you want from someone else that marked up the price. It seems like a no-brainer to me. Feeling is not a problem, it is the people that are cutting open the bags and leaving the figures they don't want loose in the store for someone to steal or just simply damaging a product in the store. For the people saying it isn't fair to little kids, I can understand that viewpoint since it is a "child's" toy, but like Barbie, Lego expects adult fans to remain fans of the toy for the future either for themselves or their children. So an adult buying multiple figures for their collection vs a child only wanting a certain figure isn't much different than children that want to army build vs adults who only want one certain figure. It's a product that consumers want and will purchase no matter the age. So I say feel away. And be nice about it, help others if they need it.
  13. I always loved the Forestmen theme. I had a good chunk of the sets, but never quite all of them. I do adore seeing my old friends lined up in a row on my shelf. Great read. The history is always interesting coming from you. Keep up the good work.
  14. Very beautiful renditions. I favor option A, but I like all of them. I really like the King the most. Great work!
  15. I agree completely.
  16. Very impressive bear and cave! I wouldn't want to meet that thing in a dark alley..or. a. dark. cave... moving on.
  17. What I posted was an awesomely detailed MOC. I never intended for people to think it was a real set being produced. That thing would cost more originally than what the Cafe Corner is going for after-market.
  18. Very clever build. I would imagine a minotaur to be larger like that. Brick-built sometimes doesn't work with regular figures, but I think it works nicely here.
  19. How do I get myself one of these for a Halloween costume? haha
  20. I did the survey, but I don't know what they do with the results. But I was glad seeing some of the sites I look at on there. At least they are getting known for being a source of lego information.
  21. I don't know if this was posted before, but I was just browsing the web and came across it. What do you think guys, first wave material?
  22. Amazing. Just this side of ridiculous. Those ships are crazy. Good find.
  23. The sticker looks great. I hadn't thought of that, but since one will be making their own sails anyway, might as well make a decal to go with it. Nicely done.
  24. I was about to say how jealous I was seeing all those bluecoats. But then I realized your title says it all haha. Brilliantly done!
  25. I used to love Ice Planet back in the day. They were some of my favorite sets due to the trans orange pieces. Nice build. I love the block of ice. And I remember that picture well. All those older early 90s catalog pictures were great. I don't see anything like them anymore.
