  1. M-TRON 2! I was told it would never happen because kids would eat the magnets. But I guess Lego has found a fix for that. So of course they now have no choice but to bring back old Space themes!
  2. Yes! Agree! 100%! Worst Theme: Star Wars. The same tired designs over and over again. The good movies are 40 years old and the new movies are terrible. Let's move on, people!
  3. The existence of Benny's Spaceship and Benny's Space Squad with all new "old" helmets has convinced me that Lego doesn't totally hate us AFOLs. If we just got some Classic Space and Castle themed Creator Expert sets, I'd be convinced they actually kinda like us.
  4. See, I have no problem with opinions like these. You guys and I might disagree, but at least it's an opinion based disagreement on preference from a fan point of view. There are certainly printed pieces that exist where I wish they didn't have the print. And there are surely sets covered in stickers where if only prints were an option they would be more sparsely decorated. I guess my preference is for only prints, even if that means less decorated sets. If that's not your preference, you might be okay with stickers. Would you guys hate it if a set had maybe one or two prints along with optional stickers?
  5. The thing you have to remember about Eurobricks is it's a community for AFOLs who want to talk about AFOL stuff. But honestly the only difference between what I liked as a kid and what I like now is I have more money now...For instance, I hated stickers in Lego sets as a kid. I only had a few though; most Lego pieces were printed back then. I think I had one Tyco set with stickers and I hated it and thought it was cheap. I also had a few old minifigs from some of the first Space and Castle sets and they had stickers ON THE MINIFIGS. I thought wow, I'm sure glad they don't do that anymore! To people who say that stickers aren't bad, what would you do if they replaced all minifig prints with stickers?
  6. So in other words you are here to represent Lego the company? I want to talk to Lego fans about fan stuff. Not to hear why we can't have nice things from a Lego social media opinion manager.
  7. So what if the pieces are old and had to be re-introduced? Reintroduce the printed tiles, or make new printed tiles. So what if the old pieces are different sizes? Use 3 2x2's instead of 2 3x2's. It ends up the same way. If that would make a weak connection because one tile would only be connected by two studs, redo the design so that doesn't happen. So what if they had prints and stickers in the same set? It's happened before and will happen again. At least if they printed the most important designs, people like me could ignore the sticker sheet as optional but still have cool printed pieces. So what if any suggestion I made would cost a fraction of a penny more per set? More people will buy the sets if they have printed pieces in them. Also, what's with you only ever posting logistic-based arguments in responses to fans wanting something more to their liking? I don't like stickers. I want cool prints. Logistic-based arguments aren't really relevant. You can't "counter" my wanting cool prints with facts about Lego factory protocols. You could respond with how you love stickers or something, but I'm not sure you've ever posted an opinion about anything here ever. I mean...do you even like Legos?
  8. Pretty clear from that pic that the stripes are stickers. But they're on tile pieces, which makes the stickers even more inexcusable. Those could have easily been the existing zebra-striped printed tile pieces.
  9. I can agree with that. I guess sometimes I think the line between useless and next to useless is pretty fine. The big airplane nose is about as close as it gets. Another category of parts I'd argue is close to useless for re-use is specialized licensed minifig heads/headgear. Like, am I ever going to use a Yoda head as a head for some other minifig like a green imp or a fantasy goblin? Nope. It's Yoda. It can't be unseen. You know who agrees with me? Lego. They didn't use the Yoda head for LOTR goblins or Dobby from Harry Potter. It's too specialized for that; it's unmistakably Yoda. That doesn't mean I'm against licensed minifig parts. It just means they aren't as reusable as generic parts with archetypal designs. You might be able to use a Yoda head as a texture piece on some large green MOC as long as you hide the face. But people only ever do that for NPU kudos, not because there wasn't a better alternative.
  10. I don't like big specialized pieces like airplane noses with windscreens. That's too close to not being Lego at all. If I want something to be all one piece I wouldn't be buying Lego. Also there aren't many other uses for it. Other than maybe a giant robot foot. Just splitting the nose from the windscreen would do a lot to fix the problem though. Then both pieces would be reusable. Counter argument: A Lego piece should be effortlessly reusable in any number of creations. It shouldn't be a burden that you shoehorn in somehow.
  11. Hmm maybe they should bring back Town.
  12. I totally agree with this. Those color designations are just the musings of a particular set designer, not official. If you look at the official set images, the first few years do tend to have the reds piloting the larger space craft. But even then you still have reds doing ground stuff too. Also there are many counterexamples where white guys fly spaceships and red guys do ground stuff. Then when the yellow guys came around, any color designation went out the window. The yellow guys were piloting the flagship in '84.
  13. Are you telling me I'm wrong? Because that's the best possible answer I could have hoped for. However comparing pics, the 60267 side stripes have a different pattern than the existing tiles. Plus the 60267 side stripes appear to be 2x3 stud patterns. So I'm not hopeful.
  14. Wow. That set would be an instant must-buy if the side stripes were printed. Instead it's just going to be a mess of stickers.
  15. I haven't bought a ton of Ninjago sets, even though I love Lego and love ninjas. But this 2020 wave looks unbelievably amazing. Maybe I'm biased because I also like cyberpunk, 80's sci-fi, and arcade games. But I'm super pumped for these.
  16. Forgot to reply but yes. Arcade cabinets! Plus that flying car with the BttF Delorean-style wheels and the Countach-esque front end and windscreen. Are any of the new transparent "wing" elements trans yellow? I'm guessing they're all trans neon.
  17. I was looking at those! I love trans purple, but the shape is a bit curvy. I wonder how weird it would look as a windscreen.
  18. It's the "New Old" helmet; it's new with a thick chin strap but doesn't have the "lip" on the chin strap like the mid-80's one. It's shown on the right below. The mid-80s thick chinstrap is on the left. Here's the oldest Space helmet with the thin chin strap:
  19. I really want to make fun of those SW designs. "Ooh the Tie fighter wings are now TRIANGLES! SO NEW AND DIFFERENT!" The same old thing with minor tweaks and color changes. And yet...I kinda like and want these sets. Especially that X-Wing. Those colors are super 70's in a good way.
  20. Now we just an unbesmirched blue Space torso!
  21. Hot damn. This is amazing. I need all of those. Objectively Ninjago is probably one of the best themes of all time. But 2020 looks particularly great. And very 80's retro-futuristic.
  22. Really? How do you mean?
  23. I'm out of the loop. What does this mean? We still don't know what Leaf and Zebra are? And they aren't scheduled for the first part of 2020? Or am I totally off?
