  1. Interesting... But the point at which the 20/12 gearing up takes place does not currently fit in the model. The 20-tooth gear would conflict with the 5x7 frame surrounding the suspension attachment point. Was that 5x7 frame originally not there?
  2. Yeah my proposal was purely fantastical, based on what fitted in the virtual model. I have only just started my assembly, and indeed I'm building with 4 PF L motors from the get-go. I just finished up to the quoted rendering -- so far so good. Great ideas! I'm still not there yet though...
  3. Here you can see which parts I removed and added so far, with respect to the pimped Sian: https://rebrickable.com/sets/compare/slow/?1-set=MOC-46782&1-inv=68462&1-user_list=&2-set=&2-user_list=47533 I'll post the actual mods once I've verified them physically (I'm waiting for a few parts to build the exhausts). That's entirely personal I guess. I'm not bothered at all by some studs -- in fact, it gives me a nice bit of nostalgia. Anyhow, the Sian is on a shelf next to my 26-years-old 8880 Supercar which has studs all over, so no-one is gonna notice any on my Sian!
  4. Don't be so harsh. Maybe the orange car was the guy's first MOC... [jk]
  5. @XenoRad Nice, good to see you closed the hood properly! But perhaps you should check the #13/#14 panels on the rear "wing" -- I think they're supposed to sit lower, flush with the rest.
  6. @mellos Welcome to Eurobricks! I was still tinkering with it, as I had some new ideas... I'll see if I can wrap it up over the weekend and post my edited virtual model.
  7. Has anyone ever had/seen a good use for part 48724 in a Technic build?
  8. Admiring it again... it's giving me a steampunk feel
  9. So after adapting the exhaust, it was exactly that spot that stood out as weirdly shaped, emphasizing it even more. I searched through my inventory for lime-colored wedges, which yielded only 1 of each of these guys: After some tinkering, I've come to believe that they're actually perfect for attaining the right shape! Compare with the real Sian photos which I posted above: From this angle especially, we can see that weirdly rectangular corner on the right, versus the smooth lines on the left: But does it fit? Why yes! Angled at 22.5 degrees, there is just enough space, as this bottom view proves:
  10. I guess it's supposed to be usable as panel extender, like a 1L slice of EDIT: ah this was already said on new page which I didn't see
  11. What's that holding the yellow bar in place, at the top of the windshield? A red 15100?
  12. I think I'm seeing this currently veeery expensive part:
  13. Anyone else unhappy with the way TLG rendered the exhausts? Been tinkering a bit, and I think I found something more accurately hexagonal: This alternative extends out exactly as far as TLG's original. Compare with source material: Sorry, no real photo of my alternative, as I don't have the required System parts in my inventory -- yet.
  14. But that's precisely how many came with set 42056... I guess you need to own the Porsche and be willing to take it apart to build this model...
  15. Tread with care though... No guarantees on quality, nor on absence of poisonous substances. Never let your kids play with anything from Chinese webshops.
  16. True, you'd have to move the DBG connector 1 module down, which is easy but costs yet another few extra pieces. When I find the time, I'll make some instructions for my mod of the headlights as well as the taillights.
  17. You could've asked... Anyway, it costs 8 of which you may not have lying around...
  18. Thanks for checking it! Later I realized a better way to move back the front beam would be to keep the double but replace the #1 connector underneath by . That would also allow fine-tuning the exact placement of the front beam so as to close the gap but without stress. Anyway, all of this is hypothesis -- I'll experiment myself later.
  19. You mean as brake caliper holder? Or that this part would be redundant? Sure, there are plenty clip-based parts, but barely any in lime. Maybe this part could look better in lime builds -- then again, maybe it'll look too much like a severed arm. I just thought I'd bring its existence to your attention. (the part is new for 2020) I for one am tired of seeing clips pushed into half-pins. Or worse, clips holding clips. Aaaaargh! When building my Chiron, I quickly replaced this abomination by the good old
  20. Would part 66788 be useful for Technic builds? For example to hold one end of a flex axle...
  21. 20 by my count. (we were talking about #21/22 panels right?)
