Haven't yet found anyone willing to share a scan of the instructions, or even a part list... But that's no longer necessary because I obtained a full virtual model, divided in building steps and submodels and all... sweet! I know what I'll be doing this weekend... adding those 3rd and 4th PF L motors and 2x BuWizz! Seems like I already got all the parts in my inventory, perhaps only need to color-swap a few internal connectors. Had already acquired the red arched panels for LoxLego's Ferrari F12, the rest I can manage with "genuine" parts. It's such a beauty, even in virtual reality... bravo Bruno!!

Enjoy your rare Lime parts! Nitro Menace nicely complements the new Sian. It has 2 of these which go for $5 a piece on BrickLink: -
General Part Discussion
astyanax replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Also this part I have in both matte (older) and glossy (newer): ============================================================= (change of topic) Back in August it was revealed that the pin connector would come in Lime: Sure enough, it's been available on Bricks & Pieces for at least a month now (search for part 29219, not 62462). But it hasn't shown in any set inventory, until today: set 45814 is AFAIK the first to use it.- 5,509 replies

Technic Model Comparison
astyanax replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The first place I'd look for the weight is in the first few seconds of Sariel's video review... :) -
I sympathize with your sentiment, but I'm not sure this is a good idea (if possible at all). Although we could wish to have a thread to discuss only the model per se (its design and functionality), I think we have to accept that this model, its beauty, and the respect commanded by its designer, are all important catalysts for the "other" discussion, namely about the competition facing TLG and the community's stance on that. Perhaps we should pragmatically accept that in this case these 2 topics will remain mixed. (As always I'm respectful and open to counter-opinions!)

When I saw the curb painted Lime, I cringed and LOL'd at the same time. Didn't know that was even possible... But holy cow that's 8 buggy motors, right?! And they snap off even the new CV joints... yikes! Do you have a virtual model of your mod lying around? Not that I have 8 buggy motors, but the motorized doors is certainly something I'd love to see more of!

Please excuse me for being obtuse (yet well-intentioned!), but how are we off-topic? The original post made 2 points: A highly respected community member has created a beautiful model -- let's discuss its design and functionality. Said model has been licensed to CaDA for reasons -- let's discuss what the community thinks of this. If only point 1 had been made and discussed, I assume the thread would not have been flagged and moved out of the Technic subforum. But it has been moved due to point 2, which we have continued to discuss. So it seems to me we're very much on-topic. PS: As pointed out by @LvdH, point 1 is a bit tricky because the model is using 1 type of panel not available from TLG in the used color (red). Although if rumors of an upcoming Technic Ferrari model (42125) are to be believed, there is a good chance that they will be produced in red very soon.

+1 I also feel the community is changing. There are even more gray cases, like @T Lego's Lamborghini Centenario. We discussed the beautiful model, its design, its functionality here on EB. The model can be built from genuine Lego pieces. But guess what, it's also licensed to CaDA. Why would anyone feel "fooled"?

Theoretically yes, but you have to take into consideration the age of the Lego motors. They may actually break faster by now. Yes or just a normal battery box. Be sure to bring an extension cable, because the buggy motors don't come with integrated wire. -

That reaaally depends on how purist you are (and I won't judge!). You can get equivalent motors from you-know-where much cheaper. But for original Lego, 50€ is definitely below average bricklink price, assuming it's tested and working. -
Okay I've thrown together some building instructions for this new version provisionally called "Koncept Essence Quattro". Link to PDF is at the bottom of the topic post. I don't think I'll publish this version on Rebrickable... Since there's no "decent" place to put the 2 BuWizz without a more comprehensive redesign, it feels unfinished, but I don't want to spend more time on it...

I was about to take apart my Essence to recycle the parts... but then I had an idea: Would a simple square of 4 PF L motors allow for a 1:3 overdrive and some crazy drifting? The solution was surprisingly simple and robust: Thanks to the Essence's modular design, I could just pop out the buggy motors and insert this new motor block. The only problem is that this motor block is too bulky to accommodate any BuWizz in the same space, so I had to pile them both into the passenger seat... And yes, it drifts like crazy! The 2x BuWizz have no problem doing full-on acceleration in Ludicrous mode. No gears grinding. Just, WWWWWOOOOSH
