This made me chuckle after a bad day at work, thank you!

@Polarlicht Well if you know the past history of the "Held der Steine" it should be no suprise he is pointing out every flaw of a LEGO, while overlooking flaws of competitor brands. He has a massive grudge against TLG (and for good reason). But with competitor brands he is a lot more lenient. He is a entertainer, look for other sources if you want a comparison based on facts. CADA brick quality is good, but there is still some room for improvement. Have you tried messaging them about the damaged parts?

Very nice! I like the fire inside the chest of the balrog!

I am not really know much about this kind of equipment (more of a cars+tanks kinda guy) but I think this looks like a very well put-together MOC! Well done M8!

Cool Idea, and well executed. I like the black circular frame around it too.

Amazing tank! I like this one best of all your tanks I have seen so far. As someone who faced the issue of not having a proper sized drive sprocket (but at a much smaller scale) I really love the brickbuilt drive sprocket! Incredible. Wish that were possible at smaller scale Well done M8.

General Part Discussion

That moment when new bricks appear copied on Aliexpress before they are available on B&P Idk what TLG is playing at keeping new bricks back. The chinese will not wait, and s&h is faster too compared to B&P. How...- 5,506 replies

General Part Discussion
Gray Gear replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@keymaker I think we can summarize: the gears will make contact, they do not clear each other. But the teeth make so little contact that it is not a usable as a means of transmitting power.- 5,506 replies

Agreed. The 3L camshaft halfbeam is the closest thing TLG has ever made I think. But the overhang will cause problems too- 5,506 replies

A very interesting looking figure! Everything looks so well put together, the overall look flows really well! A incredible MOC and deserved frontpage!

I am not a big fan of the A80, especially the roofless version adding even more weight to an alredy heavy chassis. It is still a very cool car, but not one of my favorites. But I do think you recreated the real car very well. I like the mix of system and Technic, which is something I like to do myself. The car is instantly recognizable and all the important bodylines have been captured. Well done m8!

@T Lego I fully agree. Also I would love to have access to the real Car I am building to take pictures. I sometimes find areas which are hard or even impossible to find pictures of on the Internet. Also, making building instructions is not free only because the programms are free. Personally I spent a good chunk of money for a new PC to run those programms reliably and a 32Inch monitor so I can actually see what I am doing. That's money not every MOCer will be able to spend just to make instructions for others. What I would really love to have is one of these massive touch display monitors digital designers or artits use, but I can't afford them as they are cost like 5K. I bet TLG designers have a lot better hardware than the average MOCer.

I used a similar gear arrangement in my Nissan 180SX MOC. I used a 6.5L with stop to make sure the axle cant back out, that solved the problem for me. Flaws in MOCs can and should be openly adressed I think. But I do think different standards have to be used for MOCs and official Sets, because they are built with different standards to begin with. While I do try to make my MOCs as sturdy as possible, not all MOCers do the same. If stuff breakes easily that's normal if it was just intended as a display piece. And "new parts now and then" is quite the understatement. I wonder what kind of LEGO Supercar you would compare this MOC to. "built from standard parts"? All of the 1:8 Supercars introduced new and gamechanging bricks.

V twin vacuum engine
Gray Gear replied to Aerolight's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very nice! Seems to be running very smooth with little friction, the low idle speed is really impressive. -
Finished mine about 2am today. Its not pretty, but that's not the problem. The droid lacks the power to raise the rear leg under its own steam. The rear leg does get triggered fine, but once it touches the ground that's it. I tried to add more rubber bands, but it didn't help, Maybe my rubber bands are too weak. So much is supposed to be moved with the rubber bands on the rear leg, the usage of a powerful shock absorber would be much better imo. But as @astyanax already said it is not an easy swap. I built this to learn how this bot works, and i understand it now. But it is an unreliable mechanism, so I don't feel like modding the set would bear much better fruit
