Has LEGO ever listened to AFOLs? If so, when?
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Of course they listen to adults. Otherwise, I wouldn't have seen some City sets that I've been screaming for. Though City isn't really targeted toward us. Matter of fact, they've just started recently doing it more often as its grown to 40%. 2016 marked a huge milestone. I never thought I'd see Simpsons come into the Lego universe. Though if we look at the Cafe Corner from 2007 and Building Bonzana from 2005, I guess they started a little bit back when the AFOL was at 5%. Now we have a set from Friends, modulars are more relevant now than ever and I think we have or are going to see a Big Bang Theory. Technic and Star Wars also have a large adult and teen fanbase. I call the latter side TFOLs (Teen Fans Of Lego). -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Those are good ideas too! But usually, Lego does at least 2 to 3 subthemes during the summer including an explorers theme and the Town subtheme. So In/Out sounds like a mystery subtheme. Btw, I meant to say City Bus Duo. Not City Bus Duel. -

How about some of all? Let's call it the Transport subtheme! 60260 City Bus Duo 60261 Limousine and Private Jet 60262 Garage 60263 Cargo Terminal 60264 Petrol Truck 60265 Ferry Dock 60266 Harbor Ok ok! I know three of those based off of the 2013 Cargo wave! But C'MON, that was the best cargo wave ever. Especially that helicopter plane set. Overall, if the wave was like that, that would be the perfect wave there. Here's my hope for the unknown town sets: 60268 Construction Site 60271 City Center The perfect summer wave there! But I think we'd better wait until its time for the sets to be revealed. -

Steel Mill experts? Hmmmm! Why do I think its likely? Then again, I think anything is possible as long as its a popular job amongst kids. -
MOC City Pizza Restaurant
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Town
@fordtruckin Why thank you! I really appreciate that. I actually based the colors and all off of the 60150 Pizza Van set. When all said and done, you really are a good bloke dude. You do care a lot about the theme like I do and make a lot of your views according to the reality of the way Lego does their City sets. I personally don't think we'll ever see another pizzeria in City (I think 60150 is as far as we'll get) unless we see one in this year's (2020) town plan set. -

On that, we can agree. Though to be realistic, if we were to get a subtheme based around the transit system, it would likely just consist of a city bus with a decent sized shelter, some type of commuter train similar to a European high speed train and something that reminds you of one of those classic cable cars you'd see in San Francisco.....and I say that from just knowing Lego. But changing the topic, considering that we've got that new magnet piece....What do you guys think of the chance that Harbor, Cargo or Construction would make a comeback in summer 2020? I mean that magnet piece (even though Lego probably doesn't realize it), has opened up a lot of playable opportunities. -

Oh another note. I'm definately wagering on some type of subtheme that can utilize the new magnet piece. -

@fordtruckin Hey! You try building a functional building among all the stresses of having your guard let down over the fact that there will never be another golden age for City like it was from 2006 to 2009. Go easy on me ok. I get stressed out. Maybe I feel the same way as @Lyichir in feeling upset that my views are seen as malicious. Have a damn heart will ya! -
Pardon? If you ever come to the DC area and travel on the WMATA system, that's basically how most of the stops look like. The only addition is the information cubicle where the manager stands - which is based off of the small cubicles seen at the subway stations. There is really nothing fancy about the bus terminals on my system. Not even the one at Union Station, if you can believe it. Matter of fact, we don't have a Port Authority. If you were to build a bus terminal based off of the ones you see in D.C., it would be as dull as the tower from police set. 60210. So you couldn't tell that that was a seating area? You couldn't tell that the black piece hanging from the roof was a bus stop? I....think that has a lot to do with trademarking. That's their trademark look! That's why we all can tell what it is. I have a pizzeria too btw. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/174599-moc-city-pizza-restaurant/

@fordtruckin Ohohoho! I love me a challenge! Peep this my friend. I think I prefer simplicity. With that being said, City has given us plenty of amazing buildings. Care for me to go down the list? Past Basically every building from 2006 to 2009 2010 Fire Station 2011 Police Station 2011 Marina 2011 Harbor 2011 Train Station 2012 Hospital 2012 Garage 2013 Museum 2013 Fire Station 2013 Pizzeria f 2013 Skate Shop 2014 Police Station 2014 Arctic Command Center 2014 Train Station 2015 Space Center 2015 Car Dealership 2015 Lego Store 2016 Prison 2016 Fire Station 2016 Airport 2017 Coast Guard Headquarters 2018 Museum 2018 Hotel 2018 Hotdog Stand Present 2019 Doughnut Shop 2019 Toy Store 2019 Fire Station 2019 Launch Control Center Future 2020 Tuning Shop 2020 Police Station I'll admit that the service station isn't detailed enough. But I don't mind. That's a job for me to do! -

For what it's worth, I was as nice as possible. But think about it for a second and this doesn't warrant a response. I want you to consider what you just said. Perhaps, now you know how it feels to have your views attacked. You, your sister and various other users make me feel that way a lot and I don't even complain about sets, I'm just blunt. Just thought I'd make my ending statement there. I'm done now! Consider the new magnet piece we've just received, I'm wagering on a Harbor or Cargo subtheme to complement that over the summer. The magnet piece would be good for cranes that need to lift cargo. I'm screaming for those two to return. Those were awesome during that time. I had an idea for a Forest Exploration subtheme. Maybe that's where they can find the dinosaur bones and even some ancient medieval ruins. -

Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
@fordtruckin If you were a real Lego fan, "Its not likely" wouldn't even come out of your mouth! All things are possible with Lego. On top of that, how do you know its not likely? They've done it before. Those would be sincerely boring to children of this generation. But if given a chance, a transit subtheme could be fun. Take the various types of racing you see on YouTube. Look up bus racing and rodeos. Look at buses being chased by cops. I think working for the transit industry is more exciting than you think. Lego stretches the truth all the time with their City theme. Just like they do with all those dumb police themes. Lego is just good at that. And forgive me, but you find it difficult to believe because you aren't one. If you know how much we put our lives on the line to serve our community, you would have a different perception. -

@TeriXeri Yeah! I noticed that. I see it also acts as a mobile unit looking at the cell area of the truck. Also I wonder if the guy in the brown is any kin to The Brickster. -

Though that one should have three year status too (in my opinion), Coast Guard comes every 4 years and like you said....the last CG wave was in 2017. So it won't be returning until 2021. The airport theme should be coming back by then too. So with that being said, I think summer 2021 will be a good wave too. -

@Lyichir We don't want to hear your empathy if it means you have to disappoint us and crush our wishes for City in the process by telling us that our ideas for sets and certain designs won't happen. We're making wishes. Not complaining. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
@jonwil Yup! I'm also a bus driver for the Washington DC transit (known as WMATA) and I've been to several elementary schools across the area for both career day and safety events. Children look up to us as everyday heroes just as they do with cops, firefighters, medics, construction workers, etc. People act like we do this line of work just to make extra money or as a sick joke. No! We do it because it's our passion. No excuses Lego. You need to put a modular bus terminal and a public transit subtheme for City in your plans. @koalayummies So in future, try to know the people who both work for or rely on the system before making your own narrow minded assumptions about the transit industry. -

I don't hate you. Otherwise, I wouldn't have given you a follow. I think that system would actually work. Maybe on vehicles, they can do printed pieces and on buildings, they can use stickers.
