@Maple Hey man! We may not like some of the things that Lego does and they may not make sense to us, but we have to deal with it. Prices are one of those things. I mean....running a company inside a building isn't free. @J4ck its not just inflation, but they've also gotta keep up that building that they work from. There are utilities they have to pay for the machines that make the bricks we use to build our Lego creations. How are they going to keep things up if they don't inflate? Something to think about.

@MAB So we shouldn't feel bad?

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
60255 to 60258 are my favorite sets. It's absolutely amazing how City is about to turn a line of work that most kids these days would consider boring (the automotive industry) into something fun and action packed. Yes, we had Speed Champions. But technically those are licensed as they are based off of real cars. I'm talking about generic automotive industry setslike the ones from 90s Town and the 2009 Garage subtheme. I take these sets as a compliment from Lego. Considering that I'm making a career switch in 2020 to a mechanic, I think my co-workers would agree. -
Tbh. I don't know what to think when it comes to TLG buying Bricklink. Whether its a good thing or a bad thing.

The two themes I hope make a return are this and pirates.

Has LEGO ever listened to AFOLs? If so, when?
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
But when it comes to City sets, should they really care about what we want? I mean....the sets aren't targeted towards us. For City, they only listen to the targeted audience and what they want to see. That's why I have said that while it was be nice to have another golden age of City.....its not happening. Children love to do the following three things catch crooks, put out fires, commit crimes and make discoveries. That's why every year, we see police, explorers and great vehicles. So that's City for the rest of our lives. Though 2020 seems to be going in a decent direction so far. So they know what we want, but for themes like City, it's not happening. We'd like to go back to the years of 2006 to 2009. But that was a different day and time. I believe that's what Lego is doing with the City theme - which has always been it's most popular theme since its birth in 2005. They're not ignoring us. They have to go with the times that we are living it -

@meliander @KimT @JanetVanD Your points are dually noted. Now I understand. -
I hope not. Given as though a lot of AFOLs I know in person use Bricklink. So you've actually met Kjeld. Then you I can trust. What are his plans if you don't mind me asking? I'd like to meet the guy someday. I wonder what he sees for the City theme in the long run. It'll probably be as it is now. ?

Wait a minute? Are we talking about sales or how big the AFOL crowd is in general? Because if we're talking about sales then I would be wrong in my 30 to 40% estimation. -
Don't remind me

No hate here. No attacks towards anyone here. Just enticing an epiphany. That's all!

They only do certain things because they sell dude. What do you think that is? If it were done to make the children happy, then that would be their first and only reason. I tell you what. The founding fathers wouldn't be too happy!
-
I used to work at a call center. Not as nice looking as this one. The one I worked for was too business looking.
-
That's my only upset about TLG. Instead of making things because they make children happy, they're in it for greed and money. For me personally, that turns me off. Something that's supposed to be fun is now boring.

Right -
@JanetVanD Everything that you're saying is basically what I've been trying to say. I mean..... people had to have known that it would happen someday. I don't even use Bricklink though so it doesn't affect me. I'm impressed by your intelligence. I'm giving you a follow.

So then if they did that, then AFOLs would definitely be in the 40 to 50% zone if Lego fans. -

So you think it shouldn't just be products that determine our value?
