Now those are amazing. I love the style of the bus during its heydays and the bus that's abandoned. The bus itself sorta reminds me of a GMC Old Look. "Those were outta service loooong before you were born kiddo!", said my gramps when I was 6. Nice job on these. You get a perfect score from me. Personally, I think Lego should make a standalone bus as a Great Vehicle for City. Until then, MOC buses will be just fine. That green and gold one is my favorite of the lot.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Overall 60255 to 60258 are my four favorite sets. Though I do have to admit that they should've made the red race car driver torso gender neutral instead of curvy for female exclusively. I would've also done a present day nod to the wrecker from set 5592 instead of using the VW van if they wanted to meet a certain piece count. But I still love the van. I actually use it as an undercover steak out vehicle in my town. Otherwise, this year's automotive subtheme is just right for gearheads like myself. -
Nice work! People often make a big deal out of so many vehicles. But the thing is...you can never have too many vehicles in a town. In real life, you see more vehicles than buildings. The Toys R Us truck was another good one too. Unfortunately that one was a Toys R Us exclusive so its impossible for me to find that one now. Unless I go online.

That's a good one. This Lego truck is a good one to have to complement that one. I kinda regret not getting those when I had the chance. I almost always only turn to City for vehicles nowadays which City has a galore of. Two thumbs up for whoever came up with Great Vehicles. Wish I would've grabbed some of those Octan trucks when I had the chance.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

In think it is. -
In my opinion, City should focus on what it was made to do. According to Lego Shop, City was made to provide children with action that is based on life in the city. Not life outside the city. Even though it may not happen, if it were up to me, generic action outside of the city would have it's own theme. I'm sure they sell well enough to have their own theme now. It make a spin off theme for those called Lego Outdoors with something at the bottom of the box saying From the Deisgner of City on the bottom as a good selling tactic. Here's how it would go. City - Airport, Fire, Great Vehicles, Police, Town and Trains Outdoor - Arctic, Divers, Miners, Sheriffs (the police outside the city) and Space Heck! That system may do even better than it is now.

While rescue subthemes are what help City survive, we've already gotten our police subtheme for the year. But that officer might be sold with a Town set or something like that. -
@Klaus-Dieter I think a news subtheme is a wonderful idea. The question is....will the designer of City actually do it? Aside from classic police, fire, coast guard, airport and trains...City seems to be very hesitant to give subthemes centered around action within the city in favor of action outside of the city. Of course you have the town subtheme and some of the great vehicles... and even a lot of those have been based outside of the city recently. Personally, I'd prefer that action outside of the city be put into their own theme. Maybe a spin off theme of City called Outdoors? But let's not beat around the bush here. That's not happening. Outdoorsy action will remain part of City under such circumstances. But I'd love to see a subtheme centered around broadcasting. Maybe with Gabby DeCamera from LCA. City may actually surprise us. They did it with this years automotive subtheme.

I can't believe they're going to use these for an airport roof. @TeriXeriDo you have pictures? -
I have bricks from the 90s that are still in good condition.

Great Vehicle Ideas 2 Green Harvester - includes green harvester and scarecrow. Basically a separate re-release of the harvester from 60223. Introduces a new character named Farmer Wheaton Tares. Taxi - includes taxi van that's big enough to fit three people, taxi driver, civilian in wheelchair and businessman minifigure Lego Van - includes Lego delivery van, Lego worker and some Lego packages. Pickup Truck - includes a tan 6 stud wide pickup with a cowboy minifigure Burgular Van - includes black six stud wide van with Big Betty and Frankie Lupelli

Whoa! Now that's a boat!

You did an outstanding job. This is much better than the police stations that Lego gives us. I think I may have to follow suit in building my own buildings. The only thing I would add is a helicopter pad. Everything else is just right.
-
That's what it reminds me of too.

I've actually ordered the harvester from that set I have yet to receive it as it's coming from overseas. So far, that harvester is the best one made by Lego. -

@x57bob I know this is off topic, but I like your avatar. Farm was one of the most underrated subthemes by City. I made some set ideas for a possible Farm subtheme revival by making it more action packed. I see you're also a City fan so I'm following you. I follow all City fans. -

Would've been awesome if City Undercover became an actual TV series instead of City Adventures. Or if Chase McCain was the main character instead of Duke DeTain. -

That or a popcorn one. Coffee seems to be more popular though.
-
Lego should do a small lineup of food trucks for City. We've seen a pizza van, an ice cream truck and a burger truck. Though that last one wouldn't count as it's not a City set and it's on a different platform within the Lego universe. I'd still like to see a coffee van or maybe a burger truck that's owned by the same company as the burger bar.

You know what's amazing! Outdoors was in my mind too for those kinds of sets. Then City could stick to action within the city limits like catching a criminal, fighting a fire, saving a life or getting people from one place to another. But like you, I also squashed the idea as its mot likely to happen. -
That's a good one. Your money won't be wasted. I'm trying to sse if I could find one of those at a reasonable price.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Yeah! 2018 was when they stopped. Because in 2017, they were still using it. Only they were saying "HEY!!!! We need a build!". Still not as good as just the plain "HEY!!!!" though. Yeah! Let me be one of the first on here to say that I don't really care for the new format. The ones where the set is in the city were more entertaining. Especially from 2005 to 2016. I kinda wish they would've kept that format. I would agree. Tbh, I think the designers of City sets should focus more on action within the City. I did a talley chart and it shows that nowadays, most of the action is based outside of the city, even though it's called City. That's counting the police that are based outside of the City and some of the great vehicles, people packs and some one off sets such as the ski patrol set....and I wanted to say that so it wouldn't sound like I was being biased towards the explorers sets. The latter, I actually like. For me personally, I would give each first responder subtheme (police, fire and medical), a guaranteed three year rotation statu just like it was from 2005 to 2014. That would be more efficient and it would make double the doe that Lego makes off of their City sets now. Currently, medical workers get a 6 year rotation status and police comes out every year. Fire is the only first responders subtheme that gets 3 year right now. Not too fond of that system. But what can I do about it? I'm just a fan. Unless they read what they see on here and on social media. Personally, I would like to see certain City subthemes return such as Harbor, Farm, Construction, Garage and Cargo. Maybe even some lines of work tworihave never gotten their own subtheme like the postal service (even though City has made mail vehicles before), the transit system (even though City has made buses before) and maybe sanitation business (though we did get a pretty neat street sweeper this year). Do I see these selling pretty well? Well....considering that children love vehicles....yes! But do I think they will happen? Probably not. But I agree with you 100%. City is diverse, but the type of diversity is kinda getting boring. -
You never know! Duke might've been a pretender.
