  1. She's a pop star from Lego City Adventures.
  2. Its tea time!
  3. @HereWeGoAgain You're a city builder too, aye?
  4. Tbh though. Of all the police situations, why didn't something like this come to mind among the designers of City sets?
  5. Thank You! I appreciate that. Yeah I was trying to figure out the politically correct term for this type of build because I know I used a lot of bricks from the 2020 ice cream truck, but at the same time I was making it into a different build but it provides the same service (serving ice cream to people). Thanks for that. I've just changed the title of the thread to [AB], which of course stands for "Alternative Build".
  6. That's what I said about the first special police subtheme for City back in 2012. Now look at where we are. Point is, we may hope for certain things to be one year only for Lego, but they end up being the new normal for them due to their "success".
  7. I'm in agreement there. I'm actually looking more forward to the Divers subtheme. Airport subtheme for this year isn't bad though. Like I said earlier, I kinda like the colors. Though I agree with the thing on the pull stick helicopters, I do have to admit that we should avoid feeling disappointed. This is the new normal for small helicopters for City.
  8. The airport wave is not bad. Lots of coloring - that's for sure. But I think I'll pass. At least 60262 comes with Poppy Star from LCA.
  9. I agree 100%. The submarine and the big ship definitely have a place in my town. I'm very glad to see an old subtheme from my childhood revived. I usually disagree with these kinds of sets as I'm not too keen on action outside of the city being emphasized so much in a theme about action regarding to city life. But Divers (same with Space) is different. The bases are based in the city. So I have no squabbles about those. My hope is that the vessel only goes up to $99.99 USD. But if it goes up to $110.00 USD or something similar, I'll be alright. I'm also looking forward to the base set. What I'm waiting for is this year's town planning sets. Set no. 60259, 60269, 60271 and 60272 are still missing while 60273 and 60274 remain unnamed. My assumption is that this year's town wave will be spectacular or that we may see a surprise subtheme.
  10. Thanx! Who would've know that it would be THAT easy to build an ice cream parlor from the ice cream truck set, though I had to have some help from other pieces in my Lego collection.
  11. @Huaojozu @Lucarex Tbh, I'm not disappointed. It is Ocean Exploration so....I expected a subtheme about boats. Though we haven't even seen the base set yet. So I shant judge. That's just the vessel and the submarine. My hope is that that's not the final box art on the vessel. It most certainly wouldn't sell there.
  12. Inspired by the 2020 ice cream truck set and a MOC that I saw on Instagram came this build. It's actually a cross between a MOC and a MOD. It's a MOC because I created it on my own with inspiration. But it's a MOD because I got the bricks to make it from an actual Lego set. I haven't decided on whether it should be walk to or drive thru. Maybe you guys can help me decide. So without further a do, here is a picture of it. Apologies if the picture is a little blurry. Forgot to clean my camera lense before shooting the picture.
  13. @Greenstar Japan has them all over the place as well.
  14. Maybe something similar to the monorail at Disneyworld.
  15. I saw it! That's gonna be a pick up for me. Maybe it can could be a historical exhibit of something like that.
  16. I'll have you know that these are also some good sets to have in your city. You may have to make mods to 60257 and 60258 such as added roof, walls and windows. But they're simple and easy to do.
  17. I'd definately use that bottom set for some pieces there. Now I don't usually buy sets for parts (preferring to buy a set to build what's on the box), but the Heartlake City Resort is an exception.
  18. I don't think I can argue there. Personally, I wouldn't use those in my city at all. It would not only be kinda disrespectful to Fance and the USA to use those symbols for a fictional town, but if I were to put those in my town, I'd kinda be obligated to call my town New York City or Paris.
  19. Awesome You'll also need tow trucks too! Lightweight Flatbed Heavy Wrecker Lego has also done blue, green and yellow ones too! But the orange ones just stand out more to me.
  20. Now those are amazing. I love the style of the bus during its heydays and the bus that's abandoned. The bus itself sorta reminds me of a GMC Old Look. "Those were outta service loooong before you were born kiddo!", said my gramps when I was 6. Nice job on these. You get a perfect score from me. Personally, I think Lego should make a standalone bus as a Great Vehicle for City. Until then, MOC buses will be just fine. That green and gold one is my favorite of the lot.
  21. Overall 60255 to 60258 are my four favorite sets. Though I do have to admit that they should've made the red race car driver torso gender neutral instead of curvy for female exclusively. I would've also done a present day nod to the wrecker from set 5592 instead of using the VW van if they wanted to meet a certain piece count. But I still love the van. I actually use it as an undercover steak out vehicle in my town. Otherwise, this year's automotive subtheme is just right for gearheads like myself.
  22. Nice work! People often make a big deal out of so many vehicles. But the thing is...you can never have too many vehicles in a town. In real life, you see more vehicles than buildings. The Toys R Us truck was another good one too. Unfortunately that one was a Toys R Us exclusive so its impossible for me to find that one now. Unless I go online.
  23. That's a good one. This Lego truck is a good one to have to complement that one. I kinda regret not getting those when I had the chance. I almost always only turn to City for vehicles nowadays which City has a galore of. Two thumbs up for whoever came up with Great Vehicles. Wish I would've grabbed some of those Octan trucks when I had the chance.
