You did wonderful. I love how you made the escalators. Those wires can be pesky at times. I think I have gotten an idea on how to use the ones in my brick box now. I also love how you did the Bookcase Billy section. Same with the bedding area.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
In my opinion, the late 2000s (2007 to 2009) was the best age for City sets. -

I would love that. I'd also like to see the Cargo company return. I hope they also take their talent for making buses and put it to good use next year. Great Vehicles is a good place for those. I also proposed on the Ideas for New City Sets page, an 8x8 heavy wrecker similar to the one from 2009 that would give a nod to the Octan tow truck from the Gas N Wash Express set. -

Would it be too much to ask for City to do another Octan gas tanker next year? -
This was actually influenced by the 60150 Pizza Van. I just took liberty to make in Lego digital designer. So without further to do, here is a picture of it. This is the front of the walk to pizzeria where people can walk up and get their orders taken. Look at the sides and uptop of the ordering window and image the pizza stickers here being used. That's basically how the final build (the build that I actually make in real life) is supposed to look. I also made an attempt to make the ordering window itself, a sliding window similar to the burger bar and ice cream truck. But to no avail. So I'll just have to leave it like that. Here is the side and interior view of the walk to joint. There is a side door where the chef can walk in - common sense usage there. I thought I'd use one of the classic Creator doors for the entrance to add some pizzazz to it. Of course, the oven is back there too complete with the temperature gauges and everything. The final build will also include a cash register. I plan to actually order the bricks to build this someday soon. Meanwhile, check it out and let me know what you think as I work on a pastry window next.

COVID-19 and will it impact Lego's profits?
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to AMD's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As sad as it seems, I think the latter is more likely than the former as it seems like the economy has slowed down dramatically since this pandemic happened. So I'm assuming that they limiting production as of now. That could explain why we haven't seen the airport on the coming soon list on Lego Shop yet. -
You've done a bang up job on this one! I'm loving the detail.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
@Salix There were also re releases for the 2014 trains. In 2011, they also added a red cargo train to the 2010 trains. There were a lot of inconsistencies with trains. -
Great Job!

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Lego still has unsold police sets from last year and one from 2017 that is still in stock. We've also just recieved the classic police wave this year. So my hope is that there WON'T be a police wave for 2021. But I already know that hope is down the drain. I hope the updated Duke DeTain is part of a town mega set like the Doughnut Shop Opening. Overall, I'm setting low standards for the 2021 City wave. Other than the guaranteed police, explorers and gear vehicles waves (which are synonymous with City nowadays), I'm not really expecting anything else. Though I do hear that Coast Guard is supposed to come back. Same with a new trains wave. Once Mountain Police came out in 2018, I began to catch on to City's criminal plot (pun intended). I've noticed that usually following the Classic Police year, they follow up with a subtheme centered around the Sheriffs (forest, swamp and mountain) and before they do the classic police year, its usually an emphasis to one side of the police force (elite, prison island and sky). So with that being said, I'm looking at a police wave centered far outside the city limits most likely based in a nature area. The artic police or desert police hasn't been done yet. Personally, if they absolutely HAD to do some police sets next year, I'd recommend making more sets for the classic police wave. Perhaps producing a grocery store heist set or a police bus - which we didn't get this year. I'm also rooting for a police boat. I'm also placing bets on an industrial related subtheme like Miners or Demolition. I hope they bring Harbor back next year. Otherwise, we have our great vehicles, summer town sets and summer explorers sets. The two former being among the only things keeping me glued to City nowadays. This is coming from someone who has a table town. -

Oh how I wish you were on here more often. You bring up such excellent points. I think a standalone grocery store is even better. Lego actually did well with the Kwik E Mart years ago for The Simpsons. Perhaps Lego should take influence from that for the City Food Market. Assuming that police man in the newest promo is an upgraded version of Duke Detain, I wonder if that gives us a hint into what next year's police wave is going to be centered around. Looks like it has something to do with special forces. -

Sadly, those days are gone. Though I wish they would come back, I could understand as it would be a bit expensive. I do have to admit that sometimes brick tax is INSANE. In my opinion, some Lego sets aren't even worth buying at the full retail price. That's why I solve the problem by trying to find deals on eBay. Or if you live in the US, you of course know what Wal-Mart is. Sometimes I even buy parts of whole sets from places like eBay or Bricklink as I just need those particular parts. Otherwise, I'm hesitant to buy certain sets. I'm a table town maker so I'm an exacting person.

Lego themes that we would like to happen
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Railway Heroes - a spin off of Speed Champions. This would showcase real trains like Speed Champions does real cars. Now Lego has done real trains in the past. This would be a chance to bring those back or even bring new ones like an Amtrak or something like that. These would be geared towards older audiences though. Like 12+.- 451 replies

New Jang City Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Town
Thought I'd change this to NEW JANG CITY discussion. -
Now that's a MOC. You did a great job. This sorta reminds me of one of the signalboxes for the railways in Britain. Like the one that Donald backs into in the T&F Season 2 episode, Break Van.

MOCs, MODs and ABs are all good. My MOCs are usually a combination of all three. I did something like that with the ice cream truck by turning it into an ice cream stand. I showed it on here. I plan to show my modifications to the Police Station and Tuning Workshop once I get the parts I ordered from Bricklink.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Likely another store and restaurant building with some type of bus. I think I might be only looking forward to the Great Vehicles and Town set as far as next year is concerned. Other than that, I'm setting low standards as next year's wave would probably be similar to the 2012, 2015 and 2018 waves. That is to say, oversaturation of action outside the city - despite this theme being about city life. -

That's probably my only disappointment about this year's airport wave. I was kinda hoping for a VIP service and a freight plane like they did in 2016.
