  1. Hmm...while that torso indeed looks quite appropriate, it seems like it's this one, which comes from City burglars.
  2. I doubt there is a consensus... I'm personnally a purist when it comes to my own collection. But there are plenty of awesome MOCs that feature third-party accessories, weapons and customized minifigs or prints (very few parts from rip-off brands though).
  3. @Niku I can't help with the new vs old comparison, but here is how the new torso looks with plain black pants :
  4. I had not checked IG for a while, but there are a few interesting leaks over there. There is a kriss-shaped dagger coming in the Disney Raya theme, and her hat/hair combo may be useful for fantasy MOC. I'm eager to see better photos of the sets! Not as nice as Monkie Kid's Flower Fruit Mountain, but they seem pretty enough. Minifigs from the Vidiyo theme have leaked too, I absolutely love the Genie! Both her lower body and torso parts would be nice for fantasy characters, and she comes with a printed tambourine! The ghost lady may be of interest for dark fantasy too.
  5. If only that was true IRL too! Hrm, well, sorry, back to topic. Could it be possible that animals are so expensive because their moulds are quite complex? After all, even the smaller moulds like the hermit crab are much more detailed than regular parts of the same size.
  6. Brick-built three-headed dog (with new head mould) and a new basilisk (most probably a new mould?) coming in the next Harry Potter wave. No other animal mentioned by Promobricks in the summer Harry Potter wave. I still hope this theme would bring us a new (long-haired) cat mould one day.
  7. Promobricks.de released a description of the summer Harry Potter wave, and once again we may get interesting stuff for medieval-fantasy settings (especially in the Hogsmeade and Hogwarts castle sets). Let's also hope we'll get minifig parts useable for medieval civilians - I have high expectations of the Madame Rosmerta minifig. And there will be a harp! Promobricks does not explicitely states it as a new mold though, but I don't think they would mention it if it was brick-built.
  8. @Aanchir Thank you very much for the link to the interview, it's really interesting! I'm thrilled by the little comment at the end hinting at more Castle sets. @Wolfpack Renegade Welcome here! Your village/castle project sounds really great, hope we'll see it progress! As far as I'm concerned, I'm halfway through the build. So many cool details! I especially enjoy that clever bellow, and the tree features very interesting building techniques. I find the candle holders on the first floor very elegant, too...
  9. It's there! First thought : what a beautiful box! Second thought : wait, why did they cropped the roof like that on the instruction booklet?? Third thought : where is that very Mitgardian-looking horsie?
  10. Photos of the next Monkie Kid sets have been released! New nice minifig parts again, including a new outfit for the Spider Queen and the fur collar part recolored in black. And wow, the (very fantasy) mountain set is absolutely marvellous...
  11. I agree with @zoth33, the demonic ladybird is great! That cute hermit crab is even cuter with that huge shell. The Centaur and Mermaid Showgirl both look gorgeous with those mods!
  12. What an impressive build! Packed with details and nice constructions building techniques. I appreciate the different textures on the walls, and the overall peaceful and studious ambience of the build. Wonderful work!
  13. Shipping and delivery seems to be quicker in Europe then, as mine is also going to be delivered today!
  14. @UrSuS Looks like City hero Harl Hubbs' head. If so, not BAM-exclusive and available on B&P (ID 6267083).
  15. Tan horse and black falcon torso unavailable here too! (wild guess : many of them will be available on BrickLink soon…). Silver praetorian shoulder pads and black falcon legs still available though. And the plate-with-three-leaves part (32607) is also now available in dark turquoise.
  16. Main topic edited again : added @kahir88's wombat!
  17. Oh my, they're all awesome! I'm not really into steampunk, but the time-traveler is absolutely gorgeous. The farmer girl's face is very sweet. Arachné is just...perfect, and I need an army of them. Also, I need that "ABC to World Domination" book. Such a great serie!
  18. I really enjoyed the story! It's interesting and well-written, and it's really nice to look at all the details that change in the build along with the story. (You may have put the wrong picture link for the third illustration though, as I see that your Flickr page features a photo with the marble wagon that is not on this topic.) The build itself is great too, as previous commenters said the use of the flippers for the roof is very clever! The interior looks nice, with enough space for all the loot. PS : Pick-A-Stone stonecutters...That's a great business name and an awesome nod!
  19. That's a great use of the minifig torso part. And the use of the hotdog bun as a sign seems simple - but so clever! I really enjoy the vines and the tiny vegetable patch on the side of the building. And also the guy giving breadcrumbs to the little bird...Such a nice detail!
  20. That's a great collaborative part of your story! That tunnel build is impressive, and the photos really look great. Thank you very much for sharing your very smart lighting system!
  21. Awesome building! The sand blue accent walls look gorgeous. I also really enjoy the overall shape of the building, with the curved courtyard, and all those details. It sure sounds like a great resort!
  22. @Ecclesiastes Thank you very much! I'm glad you appreciate the colors of the roof. I intented to add some olive green tiles too, until I found out that neither 1x1 nor 1x2 tiles exist in that color! @socalbricks Thank you so much! That wall design is not really convenient for hanging decor, but I liked the idea of using logs for such a building! @Kai NRG Thank you! I guess those firepits will be very useful during the harsh Mitgardian winters... @Louis of Nutwood Thank you very much! An efficient ventilation system will be required for the reading nook (which doubles as bookkeeping nook) to be really useable. Will be easier than requesting the people below to avoid roasting things in those firepits! @Grover Thank you! I intend to try a slightly raised design for the rug, using brackets. We'll see if it works! @jtooker Thank you! The renovations progress slowly, but steadily. Just like the LEGO building, actually! @adhdlama Thank you very much! I'm so glad you like the wood ornaments! During a trip to Norway a few years ago, I stood in awe of the beautiful, intricate wooden carvings on ancient wooden buildings. Not easy to replicate in LEGO, but that's the vibe I try to convey here...And I definitely love wood, for sure!
  23. I just ordered my Blacksmith too! Glad to see that the most interesting parts are listed on B&P (although not available yet). It also seems like the blacksmith's torso does not show yellow skin and will be useable for fleshies too!
  24. I'm quite late to the party, but it's possible to connect three flowers of the round-plate-with-5-petals kind (24866) on that part if you put them upside down. You would have to put the one on the shorter stem first, then the middle-sized one, then the taller one. That's what I did here (with the black stem version), to represent a mandrake on the GoH forum :
  25. Chapter 4. Construction delays Previous I've been living between two houses for quite a few months now. Most non-essential stuff is packed and patiently waiting for the moving day, including photography equipment and LEGO. Except from the ongoing build of the Horgaard Hall. I've already moved it, in a dedicated box, and it's currently feeling lonely in the closet of my future LEGO room. Progress had been made during the summer, with a draft of the interior and new colors for the roof. And now, it's also covered in dust - just like everything in the new house during the renovation... PS : yes, that's my sigfig, sporting a new dress, a new head new makeup and a new hairstyle, because the original minifig is packed...Vigi the dog, though, does not like being locked up in a box and escaped before I could pack him.
