Out of curiosity, I just checked the Playmobil website : there are at least 6 themes that qualify as medieval-fantasy. Two with knights, one with a more viking flair, and three girly ones with princesses and fairies. No idea if those sets sell well, but their mere existence would tend to indicate that the kids of today can be interested by such settings.

Impressive gate, the texture created by all those gold lacquered plates looks absolutely gorgeous! Very nice use of the unicorn horse battle helmet too.

How regal! I really love all those extravagant golden details.

Quite impressive, for a first MOC. I agree with the previous commenters - great work! The house itself looks very nice, I like how many lively details it includes (the pig pen, the woodworking area, the well…). Also, there are some huge mushrooms in this forest! The design of the door frame looks quite classy - this farmer sure dwells on a productive land. Nice choice of minifig expressions too!

The green candle has become unavailable in France just when I placed my previous order...I had one in my basket, but could not order more. Now it's unavailable. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Yay for the Blackmith sign! The following new parts are also newly available in France : - printed watermelon head piece (6338758) - light bley ornamental lattice fence (6328334) - cash register with credit card terminal slope (6329696) -
Yes I did! It's neither female, nor medieval, but it's nice. I doodled a forest elf - no clue if I'm going to use that guy in a build one day, but whatever! Btw, I'd love a full Castle theme with some elves like the ones we got in CMF...It would probably be considered too close to the minidolls Elves theme to be actually released though.

We're not saying there are no options, just that they're scarce! Let me illustrate with an example : mine. Two years ago, when I decided to join the Guilds of Historica, I had just emerged out of my dark ages and had not a single minifig part in my house. I wanted my GoH sigfig to be a female herbalist or alchemist - just a commoner, neither a princess nor a warrior. So what is it like to try to create such a sigfig? First point : like @Alexandrina said, there is a choice to be made between fleshies and yellowies as most medieval-looking female torsos show skin... And from the moment such a choice is made, half of the existing medieval-appropriate torsos become irrelevant unless one is ready to mix fleshies and yellowies. I deliberately chose fleshies on the assumption that licensed themes were more likely to include new useable parts for future Historican village dwellers that in-house themes. I hope a new Castle theme will prove me wrong! Second point : those medieval-looking female minifig parts can be really expensive! The Helga Hufflepuff minifig is gorgeous, and her outfit would be perfect for my sigfig. Also, her average price on BL is around 15€. The Kingdoms peasant maiden, the one with the nice blue dress, costs around 20€. It seems like a medieval LEGO world is a place where commoner outfits cost more than fancy dresses. Third point : we need more skirts. There are quite a few printed slopes that work as medieval skirts, but then your lady will tower over everyone else as if she were wearing high heels. Plain skirt parts look...plain and blocky. Printed skirt parts are as scarce and, again, may be quite expensive. And even when you've gathered all the medieval-appropriate torsos and all the medieval-appropriate skirts, smooth, consistent combos are not easy to find. Example : at first, I wanted my sigfig to use the dark tan torso from the Leia on Endor minifig or the one from the Padme minifig. To years later, I still have not found the perfect skirt part to match them. Conclusion : yes, my sigfig reasonably looks like a medieval herbalist, but I'm still not satisfied with her outfit as it looks weird without the cape. Yes, I've also done a full CMF serie of Historican ladies, but most of them are much more fantasy than medieval. Building female medieval minifigs is really a creative effort!

The shark looks like the one from this polybag, but modified : The crab comes from an Atlantis set : The machete appeared in recent City Jungle sets : https://brickset.com/parts/6177418/sword-no-12

How amazing! I had never seen that picture, this would have been such a wonderful set! That's an impressive variety of civilian minifigs and original molds (those paned sleeves!).
-
I completely agree with that! There are very few parts useful for female commoners, mainly from Fantasy Era, Kingdoms and CMF. The majority date back from a time when torsos had no back printing and skirts were just slope bricks : in terms of details, they're not living up to the standards of recent medieval minifigs such as the CMF Viking or new Black Falcons!

Well, am I the only one here who enjoy the ginger mohawk cat? I'm quite fond of it actually, so wacky and random. But the blue one from Monkie Kid is too wacky, even for me...

Thank you so much for the info!

I definitely agree with that. I'm only interested in the genie and ghost girl, and if there is no way to be sure I can get them (and only them) in store, then I'll wait for them to be available on Bricklink. Curious to see whether the Vidiyo parts will be considered as licensed on B&P, or if they will be available there!

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Aurore replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
The flat silver "Praetorian" armor from the Blacksmith set (6327807) is back in stock on B&P! (at least here in France) No tan horse or black falcon parts though. -
Lego Stop Motion Opera - The Little Mermaid (Rusalka)
Aurore replied to Celloguy's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is really marvellous! Great work with finding all the appropriate expressions for the Rusalka, and the decor and camera movement are briliant. Professional work, indeed! I hope we'll see more operas of this kind (and, oh, well, real operas and concerts too, hopefully soon...). -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

I also already received B&P orders packed in boxes, usually when it contained larger pieces. Trans-clear parts showed up either in their individual plastic bag (e.g. 66606), or not (e.g. 18990). -
@mifkar33 A few more : The white brick with three stars (4 sets) The grey container door (5 sets and an extra brick pack, all from the M-Tron theme) The blue slope with classic space logo (only 1 set and an extra brick pack, unsurprisingly from the Classic Space theme) The grey plate, modified, cross with dome (hard to tell from the photo if it's light gray (4 sets) or light bluish grey (more recent, 15 sets)) The large grey wedge, triple curve (much more recent than the other parts, 15 sets)

Well...sorry if I'm slightly slipping out of topic, but colors in the Middle Ages is a subject matter that I find quite exciting. Obtaining such a light purple fabric is possible with dye plants and techniques that were known in the Middle Ages - more precisely, dye plants and techniques that were historically confirmed in France from the 12th century onward. However, at the time the social perception of color w/r to wealth and power was about saturation rather than hue (modern words that would have meant nothing in the Middle Ages) : the wealthy and powerful wore more vibrant, saturated colors which required a better dye quality. Lower-classes would wear more faded colors. Hues had a symbolic value though, which could be positive or negative depending on the context (ex. black could be the color of humility and temperance, or the color of darkness and hell). Thus, our lady of the Black Falcon / Lion Knights castle would have probably worn royal blue / vibrant red. However, since I don't expect LEGO minifig parts to be historically accurate, I would be thrilled to have a lady in lavender!

@Alexandrina & @Grover Indeed, that's the one! BAM has been a nice source of medieval-fantasy parts (and animals) lately.
-
Based on the assumption that this set would be comparable to the Pirate Ship in size and number of minifigs, and after having checked the kind of figs that were included in older castles, my guess would be : - A Black Falcon knight - One or two soldier(s) featuring a different armor (can we hope a new print? I'm not familiar enough with Creator 3-in-1 sets to appreciate whether new minifig prints are usual in such sets) - A lady (hoping a new print again, but maybe with a reuse the red female torso from the Barracuda Bay set? I can't think of another recent, non-licensed female torso that could fit in there) - A skeleton And a brickbuilt cart and horses! EDIT : I just recalled that a new, very medieval female torso has been available in BAM recently. Perfect for the lady of the castle! (with a recolor of the Fairy Tale Princess' hat and hair?)

Indeed, that's the one I was talking about : it's listed as a pony on BL and brickset, but it definitely has the morphology of a foal rather than a pony. Even after a little research, I have not found a more recent juvenile animal in a minifig theme. Baby elephant and small feline will be more than welcome!

@Itaria No Shintaku Thank you so much for the info! I believe it's the first time since the 1996 Paradisa foal that we'll got a juvenile animal out of the non-minifig themes (i.e. not Friends/Belville/Scala), am I right?

@leafan I think the white balance of the photo is not neutral : the minifig's head and hand are a bit greenish compared to actual LEGO yellow, and the weapon he is holding appears almost dark blue. IMO it's plausible that the torso on the photo is dark bley.
