  1. First of all thanks for the kind words! As for lego reintroducing the monorail that is higly unlikely as they a: have the rollercoaster track system to use for that purpouse and b: have no interest in monorail whatsoever it is a niche market for them even more than trains.
  2. i expected nothing less from the master of monorail! in all seriousness though awesome monorail that chain drive looks insane to come up with
  3. this is an insanely good moc and a really sweet backstory! awesome!
  4. here are the pictures! the servo is mounted facing down and is screwed into the drive facing crossaxle hole of the technic liftarm thin 1x3 and is facing with its output shaft down on its output shaft there is a 12 tooth bevel gear screwed in ontop of a servohorn with the horn part removed to act as a spacer. I followed the method on how to mod one of these servos but i have removed the controll board entirely and soldered two of the three wires of the servo cable directly to the motor so it is a super compact dc motor with gearbox. I made multiple variants front wheel drive like the powerfunctions one, rearwheel drive which is better Imho and mid mounted just like the original monorail system. without further ado here are the pics: rear wheel drive: front wheel drive: and finaly mid mounted: sorry that all of these are just screenshots but i really dont have a good location to take pictures. if you need the files they are here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ve1we7dixzi8jal/Monorail motor car mitte.io?dl=0https://www.dropbox.com/s/9k2eq126y3koiv2/Monorail motor car servoantrieb heckantrieb.io?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/9k2eq126y3koiv2/Monorail motor car servoantrieb heckantrieb.io?dl=0
  5. Guys i now have developed a motor solution tnat i can make even smaller i will post pictures of it tomorrow. it involves a modded cheap chinese tower pro sg90 servo but sadly isnt the king of speed. now the only thing limiting getting smaller are those dang batteries! ;-)
  6. really awesome train! looks very realistic!
  7. why not just load up studio and try to make the smallest loco possible with this motor you will be surprised how small you can go!
  8. i personaly think that the bottom left picture of the designs you built in real bricks looks best (the one with the slope pointing down). it in my opinion atleast looks closest to the real thing!
  9. i can only second this when the motor is going to release am am definitely going to buy one!
  10. great model! if you are planning on making a rolling version i would like to see it go through curves that has to look so strange.
  11. very nice train I especcially like the coaches. You could try studio for digital lego building since its very similar and has all the modern parts.
  12. you absolutley did i dont know of any bricks that capture this shape either maybe you could try something with stacking plates to create the shape?
  13. I have tried dae but it looses color so thats not an option but ldraw and then importing it into blender works but is a little buggy.
  14. I mean their apus still use the vega architecture which does have opencl btw Is there any way to render the models using an external programm to render them which supports opencl?
  15. Ok then sadly my only option is to use cpu rendering because i have a laptop with an amd ryzen 3700u apu and therefore cannot change to the green side :-(. Thanks for the help anyways!
  16. Hello Guys I need your help: Do you know of any way to render bricklink studio models using an amd gpu with opencl?
  17. I had already built a 6-wide version of this loco so i knew the proportions of it beforehand and then its just a lot of trial and error to get it to look good.
  18. Hey Guys! I have just built a very cute 4 wide BR E 69 The original: The model: Hope you guys like it!
  19. It was at this moment that i decided to screw pf and go with 9v but thats another story in itself and i never looked back. I dont really know why lego didnt invest a few cents more and designed a reverse polarity protection circuit. I really wish you guys luck with modifying the pf receivers! XG BC
  20. There is also a suspended monorail in Dresden which goes up a short incline. This system is also cable driven and if i am not mistaken the guy that developed that system was the same guy that developed the wuppertal suspended monorail. XG BC
  21. They (or atleast the version 1 powerfunctions receiver) dont have any reverse polarity protection on the two outer lines. I fount that out when i managed to fry 2 of these receivers i a row because i have accidently connected them backwards. The weird thing is that the receiver part of these still works but the motor controll chip is dead. XG BC
  22. Awesome! You decided to go with wide and stubby instead of thin and long like in my digital mockup. You truly are the master of lego monorail! XG BC
  23. Awsome moc! I wouldnt have noticed the painted Brick Seperators until you pointed them out.I just thought they where from some lego clone company. XG BC
  24. I am soooo going to buy 9v motors from fx tracks when they (hopefully) become available at the end of this year! Thanks for doing this for us FxBricks!!! XG BC
  25. This is what I and a lot of 9v builders waited for for years. Now the only thing we need would be 9v motors/pickups and we are golden! I am really intrested to find out what fx brings out in the futore for 9v. XG BC
