ok this really looks like the e69 005 with the pantograph chopped off and this thing added to the roof instead! maybe i will participate aswell with an e69 005 but not based on the piko one but the real one instead pantograph and all. never thought this had a rubber band drive in it.

looking forward to seeing your design develop more and more! 7720 looks more like a mix between the 005 with its two front windows and the 004 with its sloped fronts in my opinion.

if i find the time ill have a go at it aswell but my build will be digital because i do not have a space to take good pictures as for what you are building looks like a small electric loco with 2 bogies and a centre cab to me but could also be some sort of small mallet style steam loco -
awesome thanks for the pictures! really nice model! looking forward to your next models

been reading this thread for a while now and i have to say thank you for making 9v stay alive! i really do hope you do make it as far as to produce motors as this would probably get new people interested in 9v! and commumunity is what this lego train era needs!

awesome model! looks just like the real thing! 3 or 4 years ago they replaced the sleepers and ballast on the railway near me i drove there to warch them do it and these wagons are the exact ones they used! looks amazing!
-
how did you design the passenger coaches boogies i am looking to build 4 axle wagons myself "silberlinge" to be exact and your 4 axle wagons look really really good!
-
really cute and nice locos and train! i especcially like the last render with the transformer looks like a model train starter pack! i cannot wait to see your next creations!
-
looks awesome! kinda reminds me of those lgb starter sets with a (i think) blue diesel loco and wagons just like these ones.
-
thanks for all the nice answers! I am happy you guys like my designs!

aaah ok now i understand i think i have seen this monorail before! for inspiriation you can take a look at our CRS thread to maybe do a motorized one if you are so inclined. as for your already build models my favourite as of now is the peu 2 as it looks like someone took a big russian broad gauge electric and washed it to warm so it shrunk but the other ones are awesome aswell ofcourse!

[WIP] Lego monorails. [Custom Rail Systems (CRS)]
XG BC replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Train Tech
for the curves i have tested them (atleast with my very light 4 wide train and they do hold up pretty well when you dont move them but i dont know how they would handle heavier and faster trains. to reinforce the straights/add pillars you can use a pair of 1x1 lamp bricks and a 1x2 brick ontop for the running surface and then add plates underneath the beam for added stability -
another one: this one is based on the vt 95 diesel railcar which was dubbed the "retter der nebenbahnen" or savior of the branch lines because it replaced old, expensive to maintain steam trains with something that was inexpensive and cheap to maintain thus saving many branch lines from beeing killed due to financial issues they where driven by a 130-150 hp diesel engine which was taken from a bus thus the name "schienenbus" was born (railbus in english) also it is kinda similar to a bus from its looks to its controls the construction of the model required making a completley snotted front to produce the caracteristic looks and is about 4.7-5 wide because of the way the wheels kinda sink into the body

i ve got another idea on how to make tracks for the monorail: straights are basically just 2x2 bricks stacked on top of each other and layed on its side like this: curves are made by sticking a 1x1 round or normal tile into a brick like this: and then while connecting another 2x2 on the bottom of the one you have just placed the tile into it prevents the studs from sinking in completely on one side thus making a curve -
wait are we talking about the same thing here like an actual monorail (like the one at disneyland) or is this like a nickname for a locomotive?

thanks for the compliment!

another one! this time on the cargo side of things: first color is from the model train comany trix and is called donau-kies although i do not know if there is a prototype in these colors second one is from the deutsche bahn in red this one exists in real life aswell. last one is again from trix and is called rhein-kies although again i dont know whether or not this color sceme exists in real life the loco is really that small compared to the hoppers as it is a köf 2: hope you like these!
