  1. I have to agree on that one how is a long wagon/loco supposed to go around an r40 curve? if lego doesnt release wider radius curves there is no point for them going 8 wide either because inorder to go 8 wide you have to make everything longer and that wont look good in a curve
  2. dont the different shades of blue make it even more realistic in a way? i am shure the prototype didnt have a 100% uniform color as there where shurely things repaired/patched on it. so in a way that makes it more realistic.
  3. i think these where modded anyways from tractor to tractor so beeing 100% accurate is impossible anyways but you really captured the look of it quite well!
  4. yea that would be an option i will ask them on flickr though to make shure i aint breaking any rules
  5. yea will post the dark red one you guys convinced me!
  6. and that kids is why you always turn off autocorrect. jokes aside though if i wouldnt turn off autocorrect i probably wouldnt be able to type in english at all because english really is a second language to me. autocorrect is even more fun in german with our long words that are combined from different words. dont ask me how often autocorrect has messed up my german words. it is horrible!
  7. captured this really odd looking loco pretty well! i first saw it in a book some years ago and thought it looked weird. i think i know where the book is! will post a picture of the page with it here when i find it!
  8. no kids dont like trains (atleast thats what lego seems to think based on their releases!)
  9. ss soon as this thing is available at jb spielwaren i am going to be like shut up and take my money! will be intrigued by the dcc options aswell for finer controll and additional features.
  10. if the motor is just a regular brushed dc motor which i think it is yes ofcourse it will be backwards compatible. if it is dcc then not but michael has said that he wants to release non dcc variants first so yes it will be backwards compatible
  11. this might be an option but i am not shure how the rules are interpreted. i will post a render with all three here if it doesnt take too long with cpu rendering on my laptop ryzen 7 because for whatever reason opencl isnt supported and i cant use my igpu for it.
  12. I have build mini versions of your mini monorail using my 4 wide system: this is the first one and this is the second one cabs where a bit difficult to make but snot saved the day as usual
  13. thanks for all the compliments. now the only thing left to do is to publish the loco in the flickr discussion. i wish you and everyone else participating good luck in the competition
  14. ahh ok i wasnt shure i thought i had seen this one but as i said it is nicely done with the ribs of the wagon and all
  15. i think i already saw this in octraintober but looks cool anyways!
  16. i now shared the studio files for the model as i am done with it. Enjoy them and have fun building it!
  17. here are the files for my "spielzeug"! https://www.dropbox.com/s/kjoj3o1ud4kv12a/e69 spielzeug.io?dl=0
  18. rendered it in dark red for you: dark red doesnt look bad aswell i am kinda torn between the two right now
  19. nice job on simplifying such a complex moc. yours looks awesome too
  20. the small caboose looks pretty good. it is alwass amazing to see how you manage to incorporate such detail into such a small model. the tractor also looks nice with all the little details to it
  21. how much will the new motor approximately cost compared to the og 9v motor?
  22. dont be too kind. they may take this as a sign of weakness and rebell against you 😉. jokes aside your models never cease to amaze me! they are always very cute and polished.
  23. thank you the 7720 is loosely based on the e69. for the color you are right i was kinda torn between dark red and red but dark red looked to dark especially when compared to pictures of the loco in service: i can make a dark red render and see how that looks though thx for the kind words! thx!
  24. do we though? to quote iron man/tony stark sometimes you gotta run before you can walk! no just kidding i think starting with dc control is the better move here considering that you have yet to bring the motor to the market. I would only bring the dcc controller if you release a motor to pair it with everything else just doesnt make sense from a business perspective.
  25. true the price is a little on the expensive side but from what i have seen it isnt bad havent tried one myself yet though because i am a 9v guy after burning out 2 v1 receivers (and kina hating lego batteries and their building constraints anyways) and thus dont need such things. if you are familiar with electronics and dont mind whipping out the soldering iron/programming a little bit you could also do a custom solution with an arduino , an h-bridge motor driver and a bluetooth module to make something that can handle the current for cheaper
