  1. I just can't see them putting more than 4-5 real figures in a $30 set, which tanks the value per figure quantity down by half. (I agree that battle droids could be thrown in and don't really count). The builds in the 501st sets were a bit better in that they, you know, existed in canon, but they were still super oversized just to make up the $30 price point, which again comes back to the problem of that price point. The new, cheaper sets for normal system sets are great, but if they decide to move up battle packs to $30, it's an odd choice from a financial perspective. Yeah I really don't understand this mentality. Why would someone care that people want to get sets when they release, much less be at all surprised by finding that on a LEGO forum?
  2. Creases or something, it was kind of a tongue-in-cheek comment about how the recent UCS sets have arm printing on everything whereas MBS and system sets rarely have arm printing (beskar mando is of course a shining exception). Remember that some leakers aren't confident on the $200 set existing, so it's possible that the may D2C is the gunship at $350.
  3. Ah, good to know. Not completely dead, but moving battle packs from $15 to $30 without increasing figure count makes me sad (Sure the 501st pack had battle droids, but not every set can be a clone battle pack). Because we want to get the product, and for most people sooner is better? Are you actually complaining that people enjoy getting legos? This is a lego forum, people here are going to be excited about legos.
  4. True, although those were during the legends days, and the E-wing is a more strenuous connection. My guess as to what the sets are for 2hy based on the leaked price points. 75310 ($20): Duel on Mandalore with Maul and Ahsoka. Build is the throne room with a shattering window feature. 75312 ($50): Trexler marauder with Interior cockpit and rear gunnery station with Cara Dune, Greef Karga, the Mythrol, and a scout trooper. 75316 ($60): Exogol throne room: Sith throne, Omnic harness, and sciency area with Palpatine (omnic harness), Palpatine (reborn), Rey, and Ben solo. 75314 ($100): The bad batch shuttle with Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, and Echo. 75315 ($160): A star destroyer of some kind. I'm going to cheat and put down three options I think it could be: Imperial star destroyer: ISD with interior meeting room, vader's meditation pod, bridge, and palpatine hologram area with Vader, Piett, an imperial officer, 2x imperial crew, 2x stormtrooper, and 2x imperial navy trooper. Final order star destroyer: Final order destroyer (like an ISD with a red stripe and superlaser where the main hanger is on the ISD) with interior palpatine hologram area, armory, miniscale hanger, and bridge. Comes with Pryde, 2x final order technicians, 2x final order crew, 2x sith troopers, and a sith jet trooper. Moff Gideon's Arquitens cruiser: Arquitens with interior hallway, dark trooper hanger(?), bridge, cargo room and prison cell. Comes with Mando (beskar, with spear and pistol), Bo-katan, Fennec Shand, Moff gideon, 2 stormtroopers, 2 dark troopers, and baby yoda. 75308 ($200): Personally I'm inclined to believe this doesn't exist. 75309 ($350): The UCS gunship with a p1 clone pilot (new helmet mold, arm printing), p1 clone trooper (arm printing), and jedi bob (fan-vote figure) 75313 ($800): UCS ds2 with the emperor, vader (arm printing) and luke (new hair mold), or a UCS AT-AT with Veers (arm printing) and an at-at pilot (arm printing, dual-molded legs).
  5. I still maintain the possibility that covid killed this year's packs, as the 2021 1hy at least was clearly impacted, being split into 2 mini-waves and missing a microfighter as well. Just because there aren't any this year doesn't mean they're dead. Not to get too far into wislisting, but that could fit the $160 price point nicely, though I don't think that the more spoilery figure would be included, as they're common enough in other sets and lego tends to wait more than 6 months before putting major spoilers in sets. This list sounds promising, although 3 d2cs is kinda rare. The $20 set is most likely a duel, then we have $50, $60, $100, and $160 sets, plus the (possible) $200 d2c and the more reliably leaked $350 and $800 d2cs. If I had to guess, the $200 one is fake, it seems unlikely we'd get three d2cs in one year and have them all after may. (I know it happened in 2019 but that was a boost set, I can't see them doing another boost set so quickly and I also can't see them doing 3 UCS/MBS sets in one year)
  6. The old republic was a game franchise, and lego does do sets for games. They've never done sets for books or comics, and there isn't any high republic merchandise at all to my knowledge. I'd say there's a 1% chance or lower of getting a set for this interconnected publishing story, though for the era itself we could maybe get a few sets for the acolyte in 2023, seeing as it's a show and supposed to be around the same time as the high republic.
  7. I'm confident it'll be the death star or the AT-AT because they're the two most iconic vehicles not yet made that would work at such a high price point. The AT-AT might have some problems, but I think it'd be possible to make such a model without major compromises to stability, though it might not be able to be fully articulated. Also, the size thing isn't completely accurate. The most recent falcon was 33 x 22 x 8 inches at $170, whereas the UCS was 17x12x5 for $800. Price wise it's similar to the most recent AT-AT and 2HY UCS, but it's less than twice the size. There's a few reasons I can't see them doing this. The first one is that, while somewhat well-known, the sail barge isn't all that iconic, certainly not iconic enough to be one of the three largest star wars sets of all time. The second is that such a set would be more likely to be MBS than UCS, which while there's nothing explicitly stopping this, would stop the pattern. The third is that there's some pseudo-controversy around jabba sets, and while I hope lego makes more jabba sets, an $800+ one seems unrealistic. Again, the second and third alone wouldn't rule it out, but the cost of the set makes me confident it won't be a sail barge.
  8. Most likely won't be MBS, with the 2hy pattern of large UCS sets alternating with $300-400 MBS sets it's most likely that it'll be a UCS set. I'm going to try to make a better tusken hut with the parts of the set, but if that doesn't work I'm stealing your stand design. I'm 99% confident it'll be either an AT-AT or an absolutely massive Death star 2.
  9. Eh, they don't look so good in the hanger bay, but I guess it's nothing compared to the nothing-survived-but-the-spear-and-the-ball-thingie. I still think the twilight is the closest to the RC, a ship that while not technically one of a kind is an actual model (Like the RC, which is just the name of the razor crest model of ship), that is a main ship for the main cast and destroyed on screen.
  10. Yeah, I can't find it anywhere either. Anakin's eta-2 and obi-wan's red eta-2 both crash in the hanger bay of an enemy ship, and black one explodes, though those are mass-produced fighters just with a different color scheme. The death star explodes, though I don't know if that's a "ship". The only RC sized ship with a lego set that's been destroyed is the Twilight, which is destroyed on mandalore, though to be fair the Razor Crest, Twilight, and Falcon are more or less the only major freighter ships with lego sets.
  11. Welcome to eurobricks, and this is a great first MOC! I can't wait to see what else you come up with. I do share the suggestion that the engines might need to be a bit shorter, but it looks good as it is.
  12. Good ideas for the summer wave. Mandalorian is actually kind of unique in that due to a complete lack of story tie-ins, everything we know about it is from the show itself, at least until that visual dictionary comes out. My own take on the summer wave, consisting of 6 sets plus the battle packs and duel, which I'll assume were delayed for the sake of this list. I try to include a balance between trilogies, plus a set or two for each of the 2021 shows. More mando sets are confirmed by reliable leakers, too) Battle packs: Imperial remnant pack ($14.99): 2x remnant troopers (stormtroopers with dirt stains), 1x death trooper, 1x incinerator trooper. Build is an e-web with some terrain/wreckage. Reasoning: It's a mando set (which we know is coming), and it's been a bit since the last imperial trooper battlepack. Rebel commandos battle pack ($14.99): 3x endor rebel commando (one looks like rex), 1x ewok scout. Build is a tree with a net trap and catapult. Reasoning: Most obvious options (clones, mandos, etc) have been done recently, it's been awhile since a rebel battlepack, and it fits with the imperial shuttle of 1hy. Duel: Duel on geonosis ($19.99): Geonosis hanger small build with a collapsing pillar and console with death star plans. Figures are Dooku and Yoda. Reasoning: last two years have had a duel, all OT duels have been done in some form in the last two years ($20 death star set with old ben is similar enough to what his duel would be, final duel, and bespin duel exclusive), and we haven't had a dooku since 2013. Other sets: Star Wars: Visions set ($29.99): 2 figures. Reasoning: We know visions is coming this year but know literally nothing else about it, so there's not much I can do for it. Given that it's an animated show, lego's most likely to make a single small set for it's initial season. Exogol ($49.99): Sith throne, omnic harness, and small tech stuff area with jar of snokes. Comes with Palpatine (omnic), palpatine (reborn), Rey Skywalker, and Ben solo. Trexler Marauder ($49.99): Trexler marauder film with a speeder bike side build. Comes with Beskar Mando, Mythrol, Cara, Greef, and a scout trooper. Imperial assault lander ($69.99): Assault lander from "the tragedy" with 2x stormtrooper, stormtrooper commander, mortar stormtrooper, fennec shand and Boba fett (reclaimed armor). Reasoning: mando set, loose tie in to BOBF (a slave one seems more likely for a 2022 release). Bad Batch shuttle ($89.99): Bad batch shuttle with Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, Tech, Echo, and a GNK droid. Reasoning: ties in to both clone wars season 7 and bad batch, is a new and interesting shuttle design, and it would have desirable figures. Resistance B-wing ($99.99): B-wing with stand and small rebel command center like the 2000 model. Comes with Aftab Ackbar, Snap Wexley, General Leia, Poe Dameron, resistance trooper, and a sith trooper.
  13. If I had to guess, either 1hy is the gunship (though I can't see it being only $200, so maybe it's either more expensive or for 1hy 2022), and 2hy is an AT-AT or death star. Given Azani's "unusually large" comments, it's got to be at least on par with the 2017 and 2019 sets. The only obvious options I can think of for a $700+ set that are iconic and not recently released are the AT-AT and a paneled death star. The AT-AT may have some stability or articulation problems but I'm confident lego could pull it off. I think the death star is the single most likely option for 2hy though, seeing as the 2016 one retired. I can't see the 2016 set that was already overpriced at $500 going for anything near the star destroyer and falcon's prices, but I could see it being that much if outer panels were added. Similarly, a remake of the 2005 death star 2 is possible, with either a minimal or nonexistent exterior. life sized UCS gonk droid confirmed! I'm glad that the "2hy is a larger wave than 1hy" thing is clarified, thank you and @Falconfan1414 for explaining.
  14. Yeah, I think the OP just meant that they'd have the "play it in the skywalker saga" patches on the boxes. The only way for a set to be based off the game itself would be if we finally got a rebel friend figure and a minikit. Yeah the speeder looks really good and is sized well. Are you counting the statue/helmets too? 1HY is usually january-june if I'm not mistaken, so assuming that the cutoff is june, using brickset as reference: 1hy: 2 microfighters+4 system sets+1 UCS/MBS/Etc+3 helmets+statue+juniors= 12 sets (technically the polybags would make it 14 but I doubt that those "count"). Adding the costs up it's 30 (micros)+200 (system)+(likely 200 given that's been the cost of the 1hy UCS for 5 of the last 6 years)+170(helmets)+60 (statue)+20(juniors)=$680, with some variance as the prices for the 1hy UCS and helmets aren't confirmed. given how expensive the 2hy UCS has been in the past, this might just mean that we're getting another big UCS set, which would fit the pattern of large 2hy UCS sets alternating with 2hy MBS sets
  15. And it's on backorder on lego.com too! Tip for getting new sets on release: if it's not store exclusive, go to a retail chain like target sometime in the late morning/early afternoon and you can catch the employees as they stock the shelves. The set's pretty good for value. Beskar mando and baby yoda alone make it worth it, everything else is basically extra. The speeder is well-made and actually not too oversized, and has a lot of good parts (including the hemisphere tile things in lbg and 1x1 brackets in dark orange) if you're looking to scrap it. The tusken is fine, the ballista is good, the campfire's fine, and the hut... I won't mince words, the hut is awful. It's gappy, polygonal, and looks nothing like the real thing. No one's buying the set for the hut, of course, and overall it's a great set.
  16. Thanks! I'll be getting the slave one as soon as it restocks online. Thanks! Good point about the new scaling down, I'll be sure to pick this one up as soon as it's available again.
  17. I went to my local lego store, arrived about 15 minutes early. There was a line of over 50 people (interesting side note: most were adults, it's always nice to see the Afol community out in force). They were only letting a few people in at a time so I went to a target to get trouble on tatooine. On the lego website, the only sets in stock are the millenium falcon micro, x-wing, tie, and some keychains as of 2pm central time. I assume this means they didn't add any stock today besides the new sets. I haven't built trouble on tatooine yet but I'm looking forward to doing that after writing this.
  18. Nice! The falcon and crest are both great sets, especially if you're just getting back into star wars. Alongside about 1200 parts for some mocs I'm working on, I got the duel on mustafar for christmas, and honestly it looks much better in person, the lava isn't as cartoonish as it seems online. Still not enough to save it from the parts heap, though, as it's very much more of a play set than something that'd look good on display. The figure updates are nice, though, so i'd recommend it if you want a new obi-wan and anakin.
  19. I mean, the ballista are pretty integral to one of the scenes and are featured somewhat prominently, the hut isn't shown much but it's a common tusken thing. As people have said in the other thread when this set first came out, lego most likely either didn't know of vanth or didn't want to risk a leak spoiling his involvement. Or worse, Completely agree, with one nitpick: The OT star destroyer isn't very common, we've had 2 system scale sets of it since the start of the theme, the last one six years ago. On a somewhat related note: I'm going to buy a set for myself this january along with the mando set, but I'm stuck between the slave one and AT-AT. Here are the pros/cons I've come up with: AT-AT: Pros: well-made model with great detailing and interior space. Cons: more expensive. Slave One: Pros: cheaper, and I can sell the figures (besides zuckuss, I don't have him yet) to get even more of the cost back. Cons: interior isn't great, likely to be remade soon with the book of boba fett. Right now I'm leaning towards slave one given that if I sell the figures (sans zuckuss) I basically get it for $80 and it's retiring soon, but I wanted to know what you guys think, as I'm still on the fence somewhat.
  20. If you want the speeder too, it'll most likely be cheaper to buy the set itself. Though I'm not sure where "out of the blue" comes from, they're both in the show in that episode.
  21. Amazing! One thing I love about this community is that even obscure ships like the Ninka get great MOCs, and this one is absolutely massive!
  22. The quality of the face print is great, usually flesh printing fails but I guess since it's on a lighter color it came out pretty well. It's in the tantaun vs at-at microfighter, which has been leaked and revealed by the instructions of some of the other sets of the wave.
  23. *The return of the king* I didn't get it last time around, won't make that mistake again.
  24. Great review, once again balancing comedy with information. I'll just say two things: The tie fighter's wings are for atmospheric combat and serve as solar panels, hence why they look like solar panels. I'd be open to a blue bomber or interceptor as long as it's sand blue and not the bright blue of the 2005 set.
  25. Alright, this time I've got some questions myself. -Any suggestions for a purist Fennec Shand (helmet or hair)? -Is the official ROTJ boba fett the closest you can get to boba fett (painted armor) or are there any changes you'd make?
