LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've got no idea, but honestly that seems like a waste of a mold spot that could be better spend on any of the other characters (besides crosshair, who could use the ARC one). This makes me think cassian won't have a u-wing this season, i'm really getting the vibe that he's on solo missions this season. I'm guessing if we get a "hero ship" set, it'll be his A-wing. I got the entire wave (though it took me about a year), but I ended up selling the striker and shuttle (I really regret selling the shuttle). Honestly I think it's the greatest wave of all time for lego. -
The Captain America/Private Bastaren head works pretty well for a late TCW anakin, the scar isn't there though.

Unless they've gotten rid of the molds, I'm betting it'll be ezra's cadet helmet. I believe he's got an a-wing in the concept art, although I'm sure he'll fly a variety of ships in the show. @Sneakguest if you really want to get rid of the figure, I'd be happy to have another! -
Welcome to eurobricks, @LadyTano. That sounds like a pretty impressive collection you're amassing. Regarding the C-3PO, if you're afraid it'll break or the chrome will rub off, don't try to take the legs off. The figure is currently selling for about $1000 in the US, you do not want to risk damaging it and having to get a replacement!

Yes, just because of how stupid a move by lego/lucasfilm that would be, to wipe a character from merch because they don't like the actress. I'll just say this quickly because I don't want to keep straying off topic, but you should probably re-read her tweets as she makes it clear that's not the case, she's actually talked with Pedro about those tweets, and he tweeted some general support of her after it happened back in 2020... Anyway, back on topic. Yeah, another case of the promo photos making it look worse than it does in reality. I agree that it's main problem is not living up to tydrium, but like you said it can't be helped, especially when it's $30 cheaper. I'm happy that I managed to get tyderium on sale sometime in 2016-2017, but if I hadn't, I'd definitely pick this set up. -
The saber tank was "legends" most likely because of the figure count, as I don't think p2 clone gunners are in canon, and neither the gunners or secura are in battlefront 2017.

I'm sure she'll still be in the light cruiser, if they remove her I honestly will not buy it because of how stupid that would be. That's what I'm hoping for. Pascal and Weathers have come to her aid in the past, so maybe they'll do what the guardians cast did back when they fired Gunn and get her back. -

Yeah, people were/are expecting it to have, like, 7 clone commanders and a full legion of clone wars troops. The thing about the "no one's going to pay $350 for cody" reminds me of the amount of comments saying they'd vote for the gunship but not buy it, "just to see more prequel UCS", which aggravates me the most as it's antithetical to their stated goal. it makes it appear that there's more demand then there is, so then it'll underperform in sales and lego would be less likely to make more prequel UCS. I thought he made sense in the grevious fighter. It's a utapau ROTS set, so his inclusion wouldn't be out of place, and since that set is super overpriced compared to the rest of the wave, most of us assumed that there'd be an exclusive fig to entice more buyers. -

Good point. Her eyes are just pupil. Wait...mon mothma is being controlled by the mind stone! Patton Oswalt was right, the MCU is in star wars! Ah, guess I was wrong then. I had the same reasoning for voting for the nebuleon, I'd rather get a system gunship. -

If that rumor is true (which I still seriously doubt), the reason it would be mace instead of shaak is because one showed up in episode two, which we've known since the vote began the gunship would be based on, and the other didn't. I'm kind of hijacking this just to vent at all the "where's p2 (clone), where's (jedi that wasn't in episode 2)", etc that happened when the figures were "leaked" and people were upset it didn't have p2 cody and multiple p2 212th. She doesn't even have pupils! -

They're exclusive in that only one retailer has them, but the official lego stores carry them as well. I don't believe any system sets have ever been sold at a retailer but not on lego's official website. -
Hello there! Back in october 2020, I started work on a mandalorian wave of sets for the first season, later adding or changing sets to include things from the second season. Due to a variety of reasons I didn't have too much time to work on these, and have just finished the wave now. I originally wanted to make an arquitens cruiser, too, but seeing as we're getting an official one soon I decided to scrap it. The wave consists of four microfighters, two battle packs, a duel, and four other sets, all built to look as if lego made a mandalorian wave. RAZOR CREST MICROFIGHTER ($9.99, 105 pcs): The razor crest seems like an obvious microfighter candidate, I'm surprised we didn't see it in the official january 2021 wave. The included figure would be mando from the pilot episode. TIE OUTLANDER MICROFIGHTER ($9.99, 99 pcs): The outlander is similar to official TIE microfighters, but I added hinged wings so it could accurately "land". The included figure is a TIE pilot. BLURRG VS ITT MICROFIGHTER ($19.99, 202 pcs): Microfighter two-packs seem to usually have one vehicle and one creature, so I made an ITT and a Blurrg. The included figures would be Kuill (who ideally would have a new mold) and a death trooper. IMPERIAL REMNANT BATTLE PACK ($14.99, 115 pcs): The build here are a new design for the E-web blaster, as well as an update to the 2020 speeder bike design to appear more accurate to the show. The included figures would be two stormtroopers, a scout trooper, and an incinerator stormtrooper. MANDALORIANS VS QUARREN BATTLE PACK ($14.99, 135 pcs): This battle pack's build is part of the Quarren ship that the mandalorians rescue Din from. Action features include an opening grate and explode feature for the barrels. The figures are Koska Reeves, Axe Woves, and two quarren (ideally, the quarren would have new head molds). DUEL ON CORVUS ($19.99, 224 pcs): Based off the fight in the fifth episode, this set illustrates the duel between Ahsoka Tano and Morgan Elsbeth. This one was the final set I made, though one of the most simple. The tree was a nice puzzle to figure out, and other than that, it's a fairly straightforward build with some small play features in the form of launching platforms built into the bridge. The figures would be Ahsoka with her white sabers, and Morgan Elsbeth with her beskar spear. MANDALORIAN FORGE ($24.99, 282 pcs): This set is based off the forge in the mandalorian covert under navarro, where the armorer forges beskar armor. The build includes a representation of the mythosaur skull, as well as the opening tool cabinets, table with camtono, control panel with armor hologram, and of course the forge itself, with a function to lower the "hammer" of the forge or lock it in place. Included are the armorer, and two stormtroopers, as well as multiple beskar ingots and a variety of tools. TRUCE ON TATOOINE ($29.99, 297 pcs): This set, the first one I made for season two, was made just before Trouble on Tatooine was revealed. My build of the speeder bike isn't as detailed, but it is a more accurate size at least. Besides mando's bike, a full-size bantha and Cobb's speeder are included, as well as two tuskens, Mando, Cobb, and a massif (which would ideally be a new mold). TREXLER MARAUDER ($49.99, 524 pcs): The Trexler Marauder is another vehicle that will have an official set this summer, so it'll be interesting to see how close I got to the actual set. The Marauder has two stud shooters, an opening cockpit, gunnery seat, and storage area, as well as a rotating turret on top. Figures would include the Mythrol, Cara Dune, Greef Karga, and a scout trooper. IMPERIAL ASSAULT LANDER ($69.99, 621 pcs): The imperial dropship in the sixth episode was instantly one of my favorite new ships of the show, and it was a real challenge to get the roof angles right. I'm quite happy with the final result, it fits around 6-8 troopers inside and should be structurally integral enough for a child to play with. There are spring shooters, a detachable roof with interior transport space and cockpit, and rotating cannons. The figures would be boba fett (episode 6), Fennec Shand, 2 stormtroopers, a mortar stormtrooper, and a stormtrooper commander.

Good catch, looks like it! Ah. America and australia then, and a different retailer in europe/asia/africa. Right now the thing that most intrigues me is the meditation chamber, since the 18+ set was supposedly over a hundred dollars. -
Sort of, I think. Battlefront's sets were battle packs because the main new characters were troopers that fought on the front lines, so it made sense to have them as battle packs. With squadrons, you'd have to make new color variations of the -wings or package different figures with the tie fighters, since all the main characters are pilots and techs.

Target exclusive, I believe. The mandalorian fighter is exclusive to walmart. (both in america, obviously, I imagine the retailers will be different for europe as I don't think target and walmart exist outside north america.) That's much better. Makes up for the cockpit looking weird IMO. -
"only if we can do a retail set aged 6-12 for the scene where someone chops another man's legs off and leaves him to die in lava." But not fallen order sets, you can swing your lightsaber at troopers and leave glowing orange stripes along their armor! Too violent!

There isn't any evidence whatsoever, I agree. I think I've tracked the two main sources of the speculation, though: There were RUMORS that disney and hasbro re-negotiated their contract to allow other companies to make action figures, which would mean that lego would have the ability to package minifigures by themselves. So the rumors were that lego would be legally able to make a CMF, nothing even close to them doing it. Apparently marvel is getting a CMF, and this leads to people thinking star wars will get one, somehow? Neither of these really indicate anything more than that it MIGHT be legally possible for a star wars cmf to happen, but there are absolutely no rumors that lego is actually making one. That's a huge improvement, I wonder why they went with ball joints. Are those easy to break off? They did put him in that speeder a few years back, that was $30 (but overpriced). Even if they didn't do grievous, I think they'd do a magnaguard or b1 or someone on the CIS side to go against kenobi. -
Oops, good catch. Lego'd never do a $70 microfighter mantis....Greez would require a new mold and of course they'd have to up the price to $80! That's a good theory, and lego does have tons of cancelled sets (AT-UT, pentaki monsters, non-canon clone walker, yavin temple, constraction b2 and at-rt, etc). The gun turret set also does stick out like a sore thumb, since in the past, every september/october wave for the december film was entirely of sets for the new content, this was the first time a set based on existing content was included (unless you count solo, but that wave was april, and everything about that film's marketing and merch was rushed). You raise another good point that they couldn't do what they did with the mando set and make it a recognizable OT vehicle just with different packaging/figures/color scheme. Quick update on my mando wave: I just need to finish a microfighter and duel set and I'll be done. I've decided not to make the arquitens since it's a bit out of my skill level, and by the time I completed it we'd have leaked images of the official set anyway. After that, I'm going to move on to something I'll actually submit to ideas (so not star wars), then maybe come back and MOC my fallen order wave by march-april.

Fallen order isn't any more graphic than the films (I mean, unlike the films, you can't dismember humanoids), but like you said, even if you go through specifically video games, they've made tons of sets for T-rated games. I agree that we won't see one until 2022 if at all. I still don't understand why lego didn't do a $20 cal v trilla duel set in 2019 for triple force friday, they're the only major merch group that didn't do all three of the properties (we got hasbro figures and other merch for TROS, mando, and FO) Now I have to do a Fallen Order wave, of course. Obviously not something they'd do, more of a fun concept. Microfighters: The mantis ($9.99): Greez Dituris. Tie interceptor ($9.99): Second Sister Shyyyo Bird vs TIE reaper ($19.99): Cal Kestis and a TIE pilot Battle packs: Zeffo Imperials ($14.99): 2x scout trooper (melee weapon), 2x purge trooper. Build is an e-web and a bit of terrain. Kashyyyk Rebels ($14.99): 2x human partisan, 2x wookie soldier. Build is some kashyyyk flora with a tree. Duel: Duel on Dathomir ($19.99): Dathomir duel area with Cal Kestis (outlaw jumpsuit, Homestead poncho) and Taron Malicos. Other sets: Zeffo attack ($29.99): Small cave area with meditation area and brick-built Jotaz, Cal Kestis (bracca scrapper poncho), BD-1, and a scout trooper. Tomb of Miktrull ($49.99): Brick-built tomb with a rock-wall, zeffo orb, and some of the tomb. Comes with 2x tomb guardian, cal kestis (fjord poncho), and a purge commander. TIE reaper ($79.99): TIE reaper with bombing function, opening ramp, and cockpit. Comes with Ninth Sister (Big figure), a TIE pilot, buildable Whyyyschokk, a heavy trooper, scout commander, and Cal Kestis (bracca scrapper poncho). The mantis ($89.99): Buildable mantis with interior cockpit, mission table, and kitchen/dining room area. Comes with Cal Kestis (bracca scrapper poncho), BD-1, Greez Dituris, Cere Junda, Nightsister Merrin, purge trooper, and Second Sister. AT-AT ($169.99): AT-AT (larger model based on the rebels/FO design, not the OT design) with vine details. Comes with 2x at-at pilot, 2x scout trooper, 1x purge trooper, Cal Kestis (commando outfit, free kashyyyk poncho), BD-1, and Saw Gerrera. UCS: UCS BD-1 ($199.99): Life-sized BD-1, fully articulated, with bd-1 figure and Cal kestis (guardian outfit, sumi poncho)

Sorry, I forgot to specify that it'd be a microfighter. It's a major scene that hasn't been made since 2005, and they've got a pattern of machine v creature microfighter options. (Dewback v escape pod, bantha v skyhopper, tauntaun v at-at). And I'd say that the 2020-2021 have shown that lego is doing the things the fans want (more prequel sets, more mando sets, less expensive x-wing and tie, etc) Yeah, that's what I meant, I should have specified. It follows the pattern, though I guess they couldn't throw in cody. -

I still maintain that a wheel bike v brick built boga with a p2 cody is super likely for 2022, it just seems like such an obvious choice. I still can't see this being true, the clone pilot, even if they didn't make it a new mold, just seems like the most obvious choice for a gunship. Until someone like falconfan or jdubbs confirms it, I'm going to remain skeptical. -

Ok, but you can see how that's not much compared to it's appearance in episode two, right? What's more, they clearly showed in the vote articles that it'd be based off attack of the clones, the film that the ship is most well-known for appearing in. During the fan vote you could write in a figure and they would take that into consideration for the figures in the set, so it's speculation that p2 cody may have one (bob was another likely candidate). So there's literally no evidence the set would ever be based off rots. I'm assuming that MandR's video was just him putting them in the thumbnail for clickbait.
