What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
Mandalorianknight replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I recently bought a huge ebay lot that included, among other sets and figures: The 2011 jedi shuttle (no figures) I actually got this as a kid and lost it sometime in the last decade. A friend of mine wanted this, so I'm selling it off to him, but it was cool to have in-hand again The 2021 Slave One; It's too small for my tastes, but I didn't have any Slave Ones, so I'm keeping it. The boba's pretty cool, although I'm irrationally annoyed that the carbonite sticker doesn't match the razor crest ones at all. More of a gunmetal color than a DBG, and no red vitals thing. The gauntlet fighter (only the loyalist): This is pretty cool. I was always on the fence about buying this, so it's great I got it in the lot, because it's AWESOME! A great example of what you can do with all the different wedges. The loyalist is pretty cool too, some nice new colors and patterns to assimilate into my mandalorian clans. There were also 6 snowtroopers, which brings me to a total of 30 for my AT-AT. Almost there! -

Ah, man, you've leapfrogged me! ANH was next for me! All great set ideas, I particularly like the bespin junkyard. I don't think I've ever heard someone ask for it before, but it would totally work as one of those $30 location sets and now I totally want one. I've actually drafted a non-MBS Yavin temple (Image in spoiler): (also, for getting rid of a qoute, you can just click on it and press backspace/delete.) Anyway, my ANH wave: Microfighters: Sandcrawler ($9.99): Jawa Tantive IV ($9.99): Captain Antilles X-wing VS TIE advanced ($19.99): Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, R2-D2 head. Battle Packs: Rebel Fleet troopers ($14.99): 3x rebel fleet troopers and a rebel fleet captain, comes with a small build for the tantive doorway. Comes with Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Biggs Darklighter, rebel astromech, 2x TIE pilot, Darth Vader (red eye print and arm printing), 1x imperial gunner, and Grand Moff Tarkin. Qoutes: Death Star Conference Room ($49.99): Almost like an 18+ battle pack, in a way. Conference room with the round table and walls and everything. Qoute is "The power to destroy a planet is insignificant when compared to the power of the force" Comes with Vader, Tarkin, Tagge, Motti, Yularan, and one of the other imperial officers. A New Hope ($69.99): The hallway from A New Hope with Darth Vader, 2 stormtroopers, 2 rebel fleet troopers, R2-D2, and C-3PO. Qoute is "Did you hear that? They shut down the main reactor. Yeah this really sounds like BS (Bricks Seperated ). Brickcatch isn't a leak site, and they aren't a site where it would realistically make sense for them to be the first to know what the D2C is anyway. The fact that the info isn't even on there at all makes me pretty confident that it's fake. My studs are still on it being either a new death star or endor. Should I cancel my dagobah pre-order and get it on may the fourth? I want to get a promo, especially if there's multiple like has been rumored, but I'm worried it'll be out of stock. That's a pretty unique opinion, I'm interested, why don't you like them? The only thing I can think of is that they could be seen as taking spots from more traditional UCS sets. No hate, I just haven't heard this before. -

To be fair, we've been getting sets of the Burton and Nolan films, as well as the 1966 show. They at the very least know the source material, I think it's more an issue of them thinking that anything that's not a bat-vehicle won't sell to kids, when the harry potter sets show that they're confident that kids will buy buildings. Yeah, I do wish they re-released him. If all the sets are batman now it'd be nice if we got the bat-family past Barbaras and the occasional Damian. -

I like all those set ideas, the ones I qouted above are just the ones I really think we should have had remakes of by now. Ironically, I had a similar reaction to that wave, but what I immediately thought of was the batman sets. I own literally one batman set (the $40 tumber from The Dark Knight), but that wave for some reason made me think "wow, if the Batman sets looked like this, I would buy all of them". Like, two of those sets are, from the outside, somewhat realistic buildings. Batman comics have this great, sweeping gothic and romantic architecture, why can't we have those instead of more random bat-vehicles he's literally never used once in any media? What I wouldn't give for sets of some of the fantastical designs of The Long Halloween. Anyway, after getting so spectacularly off-topic, I figure after every trilogy (plus one for animation and one for live-action shows, maybe one for the games?), I'll do a CMF. I'll try to use this to do some figures that aren't necessarily easy to fit in sets, or would benefit from the hyper-detailing of CMFs. 1. Nute Gunrey: new hat mold. Comes with 1x1 cylinder with Sideous hologram printed on it. 2. Shmi Skywalker. Comes with a cup. Wasn't sure what else to give her. 3. Anakin Skywalker (jedi uniform from the end of TPM). Comes with lightsaber (I don't know if this is accurate, but the action figure had it, so there) 4. Captain Tarpals. Comes with Gungan shield and booma stick thing. 5. C-3PO (exposed wires and stuff). Comes with buildable pit droid. 6. Dooku (dual molded legs, thinner cape): comes with lightsaber 7. Clone trooper (arm printing, side leg printing): blaster rifle 8. Obi-wan kenobi (robe print, rain printing like the jurassic part qoutes set). Comes with lightsaber. 9. Wat Tambor. comes with 1x1 cylinder with death star plans print. 10. Zam Wessel. Comes with rifle and probe droid. 11. Padme (mustafar). comes with 1x1 round tile with the alliance starbrand. 12. sideous (cloth robe. One side of face is chancellor and other is deformed). Comes with lightning and two lightsabers. 13. Fallen Anakin (evil eye print, uses mullet piece for hair): lightsaber and cape. 14. tion midon: cane 15. commaner bly (arm printing, cloth kama and pauldron): blaster rifle, palpatine hologram piece. 16. chase figure: holo-sideous (to be physically possible, it uses transparent arms, head, hood, and legs, aqua torso, hips, and hands). Comes with a round base with printing to look like a holoprojector. -
Superb job! Unfortunately I definately lack the funds to test build it for you, but I'll try to help however I can.
-
Genius! Nuhrii's Kanohi Ruru is pretty much perfect for the job, not just in terms of shape, but even the dark red/silver color mash.

Wasn't red hood in that too? I don't think we've ever had another another one (I guess, not another jason todd red hood. Technically we had a "red hood" as joker's old suit) Edit: I then realized "Boy, I don't collect much DC, but I really like Red Hood. Maybe I'll buy his figure on BL". There are precisely two (2) people selling the Jason Todd Red hood in the US. One has 3 for a pretty reasonable price ($10.68), but surprise surprise, you have to physically go to the seller's house and purchase the entire store. The other one is $65. So I guess no red hood for me Also, I mentioned this in a different thread, but new harry potter wave really made me think about batman. These aren't the 18+ sets, these are just 8+ or 9+, and yet lego is making detailed buildings instead of harrycopters or voldermechs. And it's not like these are all the most stereotypically child-exciting buildings. I mean sure, the shrieking shack's a bit wacky, and the ministry set is dark green, a somewhat unusual building color, but 12 grimmuld place is just a house. Nothing wrong with that, but if they can do that for the harry potter, theme why can't we have it for the batman theme? Batman is known for the sweeping, gothic architecture of...gotham, but aside from the three arkhams, it's never been utilized. What I wouldn't give for a Wayne Manor out of the old Long Halloween comics, or any of that gothic architecture of gotham for a mob building or bank someone's breaking into. Or even some of the more chicago-style nolan trilogy buildings! I've said a few times that I don't collect much DC, even in this post, but if lego released some buildings like those for the batman theme, I'd buy them in a heartbeat. -

"too late to delay the set" Dude, they delayed eternals sets when the movie delayed, and AFAIK those had already had images leak, so clearly they were far enough along in production. They cancelled the osprey set when it had already reached stores. They 100% could delay a set if the delay was announced 201 days in advance. -

Thanks. So yeah, highly doubt we'll get the J-type barge, and by extension mustafar padme, at least not for a decade or so. We'd totally get an H-type first, and even that isn't the most well known ship, with the chrome likely giving lego some trouble. I'd assume around 25-30 figures given the increased price and that it might be a remake/update of the death star, which had 25 figures IIRC. Yeah, as far as I remember this is a solid timeline. @jdubbs also had some nice hints around that august timeframe about Ponda Baba and some other characters that would be included. -

Theed and Geonosis I agree, but Mustafar makes sense, considering she's not on screen for long in that outfit and all she does is get choked out by anakin. She'd really only make sense in a set based off her ship, and while I forget if it's the same one in episode 2 or not, if it's the same one as in episode 2 an episode 2 based one would be more likely, and if it's different it's more likely we'd get her episode 2 ship anyway. -

I hope so, but again, it's all Batman stuff that's selling. Now, of course that's because it's all they're releasing, but lego apparently came to the conclusion at some point that only the batman sets sell well. What I can't believe they haven't done is put superman, wonder woman, etc into the batman sets (not the "the batman" sets but the comic ones) as side characters. It's been 4 years since the last non-cmf superman. Superman, of all people! It's an expression. Left in the tank, like a gas tank, like "running on fumes". He's saying he's hoping there'll be another set this year. -

yeah, but chocolate frogs are an iconic item in the HP universe. There's no necessity for a lego marvel icons set to include food items, lol. Yeah, that was 9 years ago, and if you haven't noticed, we haven't had those figures since then. Lego's become a lot more "kid friendly" in that respect nowadays, they're not going to make another Oola. They might have made one around 2012, but like you said, she's obscure. I maintain that the only hope for an electra figure is if she's revived in a newly pg-13 daredevil, and even then it wouldn't be a gurantee. -
