  1. Yeah, I didn't want to seem plagiarizing of your figures and realized without Malak and Bastila (my bastila was different but also objectively worse, your Thena torso is GENIUS), it'd be kind of a weird figure collection.
  2. Hello! Here's my entry to the Purist Minifigures contest for May 4, 2022: Left-Right: Haxion Brood bounty hunter, Trilla Sundari/Second Sister, Cal Kestis (with BD-1 on his shoulder), Electrostaff Purge Trooper, and a Flametrooper. First up, our hero, Cal Kestis: Parts list: Legs from Krennic's shuttle pilot, torso (backwards) from Bain son of Bard, head from Han Solo (young) and hair from CMF series 1 Ron Weasely. Second, the Second Sister: Ignore that piece of dog hair, sorry. Torso from Krennic's shuttle pilot, head from Iden Versio, hair from Kylo Ren. Third, the Flametrooper: Legs and head from the AT-DP pilot, torso from the Snowtrooper, and helmet from one of the SW advent calendar snowmen. Fourth, the Haxion Brood Bounty Hunter: Legs from Enfys Nest, torso from Ultron Sentry, helmet from Tank Driver. Finally, the Electrostaff Purge Trooper: This was a toughie. Legs and head from the Dark Trooper, torso from the 2019 Shadow Stormtrooper, helmet from the old Fantasy Era skeleton warriors. Finally, an action shot: Ignore that thing on the right, I'm sure it's not Ninth Sister's severed hand, and definately not part of the 12x12 vignette I'm working on. Origionally I had a scout commander with laser axe instead of the purge trooper, but as he felt more like a mod of the scout trooper than a moc, I replaced him with the Electrostaff Purge Trooper.
  3. I totally agree. I actually have the armor part off my grand inquisitor for display because I think it makes them look too bulky. Molded chest armor is generally only used for characters meant to be super physically imposing such as Wrecker, Paz, the Dark Trooper, etc (which I know all came after, but that just proves my point on how unnecessarily bulked up the grand inquisitor looked), and even though this grand inquisitor is a bit...thicker...than the animated one, it's still not any heavier level of armor than Vader or a stormtrooper.
  4. Thanks, it means a lot coming from a veteran moc-maker like you! This was pretty tough to fit into a 12x12 space, I had to trim a lot of the overhanging bits and cut Doctor Octopus from the build. If you're still wanting to do this scene for the contest, you could do a level-by-level scaffolding sort of thing, or maybe just the Peter 1 vs Goblin fight on the shield, where he dents the ground with his punch.
  5. Don't quote me on this, but from what I remember, we know there are two kenobi sets coming. There is an additional $50 set known as "Obi-wan vs Darth vader" according to falconfan, that seems to be the ep4 set. In addition, there has been an Obi-Wan Vs Vader brickheadz rumored, but I don't remember any reliable sources confirming it.
  6. This is my entry: SPIDER-MAN: Liberty Parlance Theme: Spider-man
  7. Here's my entry for Eurobricks' Licensed Dynamic Action Contest: Spider-man: Liberty Parlance. The Spider-men fight their greatest foes! Dodging beams of lightning, swinging into battle, and firing webs, Peters 1, 2, and 3 will need all the skills they've got to fight off their multiversal enemies. At the top of it all, Dr. Strange does all he can to prevent the multiverse from collapsing. This was a fun challenge. The 12x12 base ended up being a lot smaller than I thought it would be, which made the portal base a little more blocky. It also led to Sandman being the primary build as opposed to the scaffolding of the statue, as Sandman's flowing form allowed for a shape that could thin where figures needed to be swinging into battle. I'm particularly proud of Electro's lightning trail and how Peter 1 is swooping down to punch the Goblin, who of course is laughing maniacally as he's hit.
  8. No official ones until after the CMF released, IIRC, and I think even the leaked look was around the time of release.
  9. ...the 1x1 clip, or the 1x2 plate with bar/handle? Both are really common, so you should be able to get them cheap.
  10. They've done action comics 1 before as a comic con set, but yeah I think comic covers would work well. Given the overall superhero genre's current reliance on films and TV, though, I think more standard qoutes sets are more likely. A tumbler action diorama with "does it come in black", Batman vs joker with "why so serious?", maybe something 1989 based with just "I'm batman", there are a ton of options for batman alone
  11. Understandable. I got the tank and Mando+Child brickheadz to part out/give as gifts just to reach the Beru Promo threshold (I'm planning on keeping it sealed, so it's sort of an investment, but still). I'm a bit worried about my order, actually. After the order was confirmed, the tank got backordered retroactively. Sucks, but whatever. What really worries me is that it's been 4 days and my entire order is still "in warehouse", when previous orders I've made in the last year have only been in warehouse 1-3 days. I'm worried that the entire order won't ship until the tank does, which would be annoying in terms of delay, and I don't know if they'd be keeping my promos separate, or if Beru going out of stock means my existing order won't have it? Does anyone know how they usually go about that? Here's mine: Third sister: I agree. They're REALLY pushing her in the marketing for this show, I'd say since we know there's 2 kenobi sets there's an almost 100% chance she'll be in one of the sets. Grand inquisitor: I think it's pretty likely given he's also getting marketed, though not to the same extent, and wouldn't require a new mold. The armor mold was probably destroyed, but honestly he doesn't need it, he's really not that bulky. Second sister: This is just a hunch, but based off BD-1, I think there's a solid chance we will get some figure-scale Fallen Order sets eventually, and she's pretty much guaranteed for any figure-scale fallen order set. Fifth brother and Fourth sister: Secondary antagonists in the kenobi show requiring new molds (I think Fifth brother's hat mold is gone now, and while it sounds like they keep the 3-D files, IIRC they destroy the physical molds, which have been said to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars), so I'd say they're either in the big kenobi set or we won't be seeing them anytime soon. Ninth Sister: Could show up in a fallen order set, but she'd be a big fig, and considering fallen order sets at all aren't guaranteed and she's a secondary antagonist, I think it's unlikely. If the sequel and any sets in development do well and we get more, it's possible, but that's a big if. Seventh sister and 8th brother: I doubt we'll see them unless they show up in something else. Even if rebels got new sets, they would probably focus on more important or fan-favorite antagonists like the grand inquisitor, Thrawn, Vader, Maul, S1/2 Kallus, etc. Anyone in just comics or books: Not until they show up in something else. TLDR: Third sister and grand inquisitor are probably coming, Second sister might be, Maybe 4th and 5th if they went all-out for kenobi sets, and I don't think we'll see anyone else anytime soon.
  12. Dude, no way, my Malak is literally the exact same (I mean he has a 1x1 trans-orange stud in his hand for force energy, but other than that)! They're all pretty good, I especially like Bastila Shan. You mind if I do OR figures too? I won't put the Malak in it.
  13. This might be worth hundreds if it's not common, which is the chief thing. I sold a guy a few helmet misprints for $150 awhile back, but common ones like lopsided R2 head or the 501st trooper's helmet "face" being to low aren't worth much.
  14. The set seems pretty nice overall, but those helmets feel really uncanny to me. I can't put my finger on it, but they just seem like knockoffs. Groot is fun, but not a huge fan of statues. I think the next marvel set I buy is gonna be whichever one gets us our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-man.
  15. Your name is inaccurate, man. For an alternate build, that's really good. You've got the full wing shaping and even the wingtip cannons!
  16. Alright, moving on to the sequels: Microfighters: Poe Dameron's X-wing ($9.99): Poe Dameron (pilot), BB-8 head First order star destroyer ($9.99): Captain Phasma Rey's speeder vs Luggabeast ($19.99): Rey and a Teedo Battle Packs: Resistance troops ($14.99): 2x resistance trooper (helmet with yellow visor), 1x resistance trooper (hoth helmet), 1x resistance ground crew. Comes with a ground transport vehicle. Starkiller Base defenders ($14.99): 3x first order snowtrooper, 1x first order flametrooper. Build is a starkiller base turret. Duel: Duel on Takodana ($19.99): Ruins of Maz's castle with explode features. Comes with Finn and FN-2199 First order outpost attack ($29.99): Downsized First Order snowspeeder with a small bit of base. Comes with 1x first order snowtrooper, 1x first order snowtrooper commander, Han Solo, and Chewbacca. Niima outpost ($49.99): Niima gate, Rey's speeder, a Luggabeast, and a small build for Unkar's little grate-door thing. Comes with Rey, Unkar, Finn, and a Teedo. First Order TIE fighter ($59.99): TIE fighter (between 2018 and 2021 models in size) with 1x first order TIE pilot, General Hux, a First Order officer, and a First order Heavy artillery trooper. Poe Dameron's X-wing ($79.99): Updated, slightly smaller X-wing utilizing a design similar to a downsized version of the 2020 model. Comes with Poe (pilot), BB-8, Snap Wexley, and 2x first order stormtroopers. First Order attack on Takodana ($129.99): Much larger First order troop transporter with a small build for Lor's hut. Comes with 4x first order stormtrooper (One has Finn's face underneath), Phasma, Kylo Ren, 2x flametroopers, Lor San Tekka, and Poe. Qoutes: Rey's Home ($49.99): Rey sitting under the AT-AT foot with the helmet. Qoute is "It's true...all of it" Tragedy on Starkiller base ($39.99): Starkiller catwalk with Han Solo and Kylo ren. Qoute is "I know what I have to do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it" UCS: Black One ($199.99): UCS Black One X-wing starfighter with Poe Dameron (side leg printing) and BB-8. $160 is a good price for a solidly sized LAAT nowadays, and that's a nice figure selection, too, though I would hope they'd put a second pilot in it.
  17. Wow, ok. I apparently misjudged how many people will pay $200 for C-3PO's leg. My mind is absolutely blown that people will shell out that much for a single print on a single figure. I'm not talking about getting the $40 AAT for a new version of ahsoka, who hadn't been seen at all in half a decade, or even the $140 AT-AT if it included P2 Cody, a desirable character never sold in that version and not sold in other versions in a decade (though personally that one's still crazy to me $140 is a lot of money for a single fig). The fact that people are spending hundreds because they want a slight improvement to a figure we get nearly every wave? That's crazy to me.
  18. I have some unfortunate news for you regarding a teenager who wants to get into college, a man who took self-love very literally, a man with a very large head, and a lady who should probably be in jail for torturing a bunch of civilians. The Hall of Armor set is sounding better and better, I'm hyped for the reveal tomorrow.
  19. Nice. The BB shuttle is a good set, the shuttle itself is a bit small but very nicely made, and it's nice that they put 6 of the main 7 characters in a set (yes, Gonky is an integral part of the crew). The speeders are extraneous but not bad models either.
  20. Sure, but I'm not saying that minifigures aren't an important factor in a $50-70 set. I'm saying that one exclusive version of a figure isn't an important factor for most people for a $50-70 set. That's a fair amount of money, and when it comes down to it, a single figure is a very small part of a set that size. And for a $200 set, it goes from unlikely for most people to just patently absurd. You spent $320AU on a lego set because of a single minifigure? Like, if it was a new character we hadn't seen before, I'd get it at least a little, but just for a boot on c-3po? Why?
  21. I don't envy you the inflated prices, but at least you've got that coming in handy! Honestly a fair chunk of the stuff I bought are at least partially gifts for birthdays months away just because I wanted to snag all the promos. Just out of curiosity, would you have not purchased the landspeeder if not for C-3PO's new printing? Like, if the situation were exactly the same, but the 3po was the trash compactor one, would you not have gotten the landspeeder at all, or just have waited a little before buying it?
  22. And unfortunately we've seen that they don't do that. 2021 had 0 kid-friendly DC films release (Honestly I think the snyder cut would have been fine if they did 18+ sets, but I totally get why they don't want anything that could be seen as a tie-in with the suicide squad or peacemaker), and we got 0 comic sets. A few '66 sets, a few TDK sets, and that was it. Not complaining (well, actually yes, if you're gonna do TDK sets give us more, and don't lock the one of the best film performances ever behind a UCS set), but yeah, no comic sets, though I guess '66 sets are pretty retro.
  23. Same on the fighter tank. Did you guys have a slightly lower promo threshold, or are canadian prices just inflated past the exchange rate? In the US those sets would get you $0.03 under the promo, and I can tell you from experience that they will not give you the promo for that.
  24. Find me 2 people who bought the landspeeder that would not have if C-3PO didn't have the silver leg mold. I highly doubt this is even remotely close to a factor for a $200 set. A sub-$30 set? Totally. $30-$50 less likely, but maybe it's something highly desirable like P2 Cody or apparently Beru. $50-70 set? unlikely, but maybe if there's multiple cool figures and the person's financially well off. $200? I don't believe anyone would do that for a slightly better version of an existing character. Maybe if Beru was the exclusive, there'd be some people, but C-3PO's legs? I bought the tank and they moved my own tank order to backorder 3 hours after confirming it :/. At least it didn't knock out my promos. EB tends to be more civil with complaints at least, but there's always at least one person that will complain about anything. Remember when the 501st set came out, and people were talking about how awful the figures were?
  25. YES! Order got in! Purchased 1x dagobah, 2x snowtrooper battle packs (now my AT-AT is maxed), a Republic fighter tank (to part out/sell figures) and a mando brickheadz (to get the total over $160). Snagged all three promos, and now I just have to hope I don't wake up tomorrow to "we're sorry, but some items in your order have run out of stock". If there's no issues, it should arrive by the end of this week, which gives me something to look forewords to besides the 3 AP tests this week.
