  1. Ok, if you PM me an email address, I can send you the part file. And for fun, here's some alternate rancor colorations (all only in colors lego has molded the parts in, just like the first moc) L-R: Shadow Rancor, Abominable Snowrancor, aquarancor, Molten rancor, Entcor, Patriotic Rancor.
  2. to be fair, we have had what, 6 out of the 7 of them, and 2/3rds of them within the past 3 years too? Which is especially understandable considering they didn't have the rights to the MCU until the final film of phase 1, and didn't/couldn't make sets for those films at all until a year or two ago. I'm in the camp that it's better to get all the suits than to get updated versions of the same couple suits over and over. Plus, the mk4 is nearly identical to the mk3.
  3. I'd encourage you to check out bionicle. It's a different beast than standard lego and uses a completely different system than hero factory. In terms of these mocs, at least, there's a lot of colors that came mainly in bionicle (flame orange used to be called "keetorange" because it was primarily found in bionicle sets such as "keetongu"). Medium Brown, for example, would be good for some of the Zuckuss or Dengar parts. Speaking of them, do you know which one you're doing next?
  4. Maybe, maybe. We know the full wave won't be revealed at celebration, given legoCON, but it'll be at least a few sets. They've done a good job keeping images locked up so far considering some sets will be revealed literally this week, but then again every day closer to the reveal makes it more likely someone will get ahold of the images.
  5. This is awesome! I'd had hoped you'd do more mechs after IG-88 and Boba, and this one might be the best yet. Great part choices (I love the nexo robot shoulders as toenails and the chima speedorz cover as the head), and it really comes together. Bossk feels like he should have turned out worse than IG-88 or Boba, since he's more organic while IG is a droid and Boba's armored, but I really think he turned out the best. It really feels like it's a solid mech, but also works as a sort of bionicle bossk, just as IG-88 and Boba's mech resemble themselves.
  6. That looks good too, although like you said it kind of blends the face together since the eyelids are the same part. The ingot's growing on me, though I still think I prefer the 2x1 round. If you want to keep playing around with it, do you want the part file?
  7. Ah, I suppose we'll do that then. If you need me to retake images, I can also just remove the human scout, since he's the weakest one IMO. Thanks!
  8. Well, since we're allowed multiple entries, I thought I'd have some more fun with the purist figures one. Origionally these were gonna be clones so I could do the red/blue colors on their arms, but I felt there wasn't enough on them customized, so they're a mercenary team here. Team Citadel Clockwise from top left: Klatoonian heavy, IG-"pyro"-67 pyrotechnics droid, rodian medic, Pau'un engineer, human scout, and an alien spy of unknown species. Taking a bit of a closer look: The Klatoonian heavy has a, well, a heavy blaster, along with dark pearl gray body armor. I'm pretty happy with how the head area turned out, with the tire used as a sort of muzzle and the zombie pirate beard being used as hair. The Rodian Medic has a repeating weapon that can have it's ammo swapped between firing syringes and a stream of bacta. The IG-67 pyrotechnic "pyro" droid, the brick-built droid we're allowed alongside the 5 characters, has a flamethrower arm, a cutting arm, and a shoulder-mounted launcher that fires incendiary shells. The spy of unknown species has a small ion blaster and a vibroknife. The human scout has a slugthrower shotgun and an electro-baton. The Pau-un engineer has a hydrospanner, and that's pretty much it, as he primarily relies on constructing sentry guns to kill for him. This started out as a joking reference to TF2, but I ended up really liking my designs for the heavy and medic specifically, so I decided to actually submit it.
  9. Doom, Nova, and Kraven alone will net you nearly $100 in the US on bricklink. My personal suggestion would be to sell these figs, if you're already willing to part them out, and use the money to buy the star wars figures you're looking for. If you're not wanting to fully part with the figs, or financially comfortable enough to just buy the SW figs you want anyway, here are some suggestions: Use Jack Sparrow's head, Kraven's hair and fur thing, and any generic torso and legs for a Talon Karrde. Zane has the classic Dengar headwrap. The ultron sentry's legs are what I personally use for my Maul figure Garmadon's head and torso could make a nice Zabrak The rest could probably be used for random bounty hunters if you're really desperate. And while he has no canon design, Beetle's wings and the lego movie robot soldier's head are what I imagine Glup Shitto to look like.
  10. True, and the price point is the same as 2020's AT-AT.
  11. I wonder whether or not they'll reveal both kenobi sets. The inquisitor ship seems like a good choice, but since the duel set, I'm gonna assume, doesn't take place in the first two episodes, I wonder whether or not they'll reveal it before the episode the duel is in is released. If they don't reveal that, my guess is they reveal at least either the AT-TE (given the early reveals in the past of the AT-AT and Havoc Marauder) or the delta-7 to loosely tie into kenobi.
  12. Yeah, the ingot is the best in theory, but there's just something off about it. I think it's how angular it is. Oh, that wasn't a random thought on my part. That's an actual infinities comic.
  13. Interesting design! It really does give off 90s space vibes.
  14. Looks good! I share the "that's a ninja turtle view", but they're very creative minifigures.
  15. Alright, I've edited the post with the 1x2 rounded plate instead of the 1x1s. Looks much better, so thank you for the idea! The ingot is....well, here it is: Thanks! This is the alternate universe where everything proceeds exactly the same except the bone isn't there, hence Luke's demise. Like those old infinities where it'd be like "What if C-3PO wasn't able to translate huttese?" and then it ends with a light side darth vader fighting alongside a newly daredevil-esque han solo.
  16. Thanks! I showed this to a few friends of mine and they all had the exact same criticism with the nose looking like eyes. I'm not sure how the ingot would look, since the rancor's nostrils are pretty defined in the film, but 35480 is an excellent suggestion. I'll whip up a rendering of both that and the ingot to see how they'd look. Yeah, the eyes were tricky. I couldn't find any printed eyes that would work, since aside from the brickheadz eyes, they're all printed only on white backgrounds, and it looked odd when applied to the rancor. I also wanted his eyes to look "angry", if that makes sense, since most existing rancor mocs seemed to just use 1x1 black studs, giving him a blank expression, hence the quarter tiles.
  17. As I've stated on this forum to an extent that likely annoys everyone else who reads it, I dislike the use of molded creatures in sets if a brick-built one is even remotely feasible. One of the biggest culprits, IMO, was the Rancor, since it's pretty big. With creatures being a part of this contest, I figured it was finally time to put my bricks where my mouth was. Then I realized I didn't have many reddish brown parts, so I made it in Stud.io. Here he is: Oh, my. Let's break it down a bit, shall we? Our boy here is 379 pieces and about 3 figures tall, which is roughly in scale considering the canon height of 5 meters. He features 25 points of articulation if you're generous about what's considered articulation: 3 in each arm, 4 for the fingers in each hand (the top finger has 2 points of articulation but the little stubby finger at the bottom does not have any real articulation.), 1 for the lower jaw, 3 in the legs, and 1 for each of 4 posable toes. Here's the back. I didn't know this before starting the build, but the rancor has this shell-like carapace on his back, which was fun to try and build. Color availability was a big issue here. aside from the obvious mixel joints, which I think I did an alright job covering, there's quite a few brackets not available in brown, as well as the 2x2 round brick with pin holes not coming in dark bluish gray (I used black instead, which I think works). Here's one final picture of him doin a big chomp on Luke: The jaw is of course, a big part of the rancor, so I wanted to make sure he could munch on some minifigs. He can't fit an entire man inside of him like the 2013 molded creature, but you can fit a head and some of the torso into his mouth. (You can also close the jaw after putting a severed head in his mouth, if you so choose.) Thanks for taking a look at my Rancor moc!
  18. "And now, coming at you live from LEGOCON, an exclusive inside look at our DC designers and their plans for new sets!" *smash cut to a single man crying in the corner of a room as he attempts to put together a bat-zepplin set with his $2.37 budget*
  19. To be fair, you can't really expect lego to only do big reveals of stuff that was never leaked. Especially since the reveals are put together awhile in advance. Now I don't remember how long those sets had been leaked before the reveal, but considering stuff like the gunship leaked just days before the official unveiling, you can't expect them to get rid of all that just because it leaked online. Overall, though, totally agree. Even looking at it as something meant for kids, legocon was awful. Connection issues, the focus on the vidiyo, which ended up being one of the biggest failures of lego in recent years, and the weird marketing. If it's meant for kids, you shouldn't market it primarily on social media.
  20. The humanoid droid from the first trailer that had aurebesh on it's torso spelling out "NED". Looks like some sort of mining droid or something, which fits with it's minifigure appearing in a lava-based playset. Re whether or not Omega needs a new mold: I don't think so. MAYBE for the bow, but definately not for her hair. ANH Luke's hair works fine. The real question in my opinion is, why does she need arm printing? Is it for how the bow sort of extends along her arm? I don't remember her having any real details on her arms warranting arm printing, especially warranting it more than Cad Bane, who really does need it for his gauntlets.
  21. I suppose just saying "the batmobile in this one is supposedly able to seat 4 people inside" isn't a spoiler, right? I forget if all the characters you say are in it are officially revealed or not, so I could see character 3 being considered a spoiler, but the seating number of the batmobile itself can't possibly be considered a spoiler? Either way, I'm guessing that means this batmobile is a 2-seater.
  22. I've used Stud.io multiple times a week for YEARS, and I've never noticed instruction mode. Thanks for letting me know about it. Ironically, I've usually kept track of steps, just because of "step view" making it easier to physically build models originally built digitally. Also, I totally forgot to comment on that df9 turret. Best base I've ever seen, and a pretty darn good top as well.
  23. Darn. I always prefer brick-built figures for anything that can be brick-built. I don't care too much (I wasn't gonna buy the set anyway, and it's generally easier to brick-build an animal/droid that was molded than to custom mold an animal/droid that was brick-built), but it is kind of annoying, if for nothing else than most TODO mocs would really benefit from a printed face. The "set you can assume is somewhat likely already is definately coming" is one of the fake leaker's best weapons, right there alongside "piggyback off existing leaks adding a likely but minor detail" and "say something people really want is coming to get them on the hopium". And like you say, P2 cody in the gunship was a perfect example, where logic (Cody was not present at the battle of geonosis in his P2 armor), is overridden by people just wanting it to be true, and as such MandR and others were putting out their "P2 cody CoNfIrMeD for gunship?!?!?!?!" videos on a daily basis. That would be awesome! If for no other reason than that it'd cheapen the cost of orange visors, and if the 212th troopers have the updated helmet, it'd make it easy to make a budget cody (Hey, it wouldn't be perfect, but I'm not spending $80 on BL or $140 for a vehicle I have).
  24. Honestly, if it wasn't for the text notes (which are helpful in building it), I wouldn't know it wasn't a real instruction booklet. If you don't mind me asking, how'd you make them? I've had a couple people asking for instructions for stuff and I cannot figure it out.
  25. Republic studs appears to me like if all the MandR stereotypes were cranked up to 11, with no actual sources to back it up. I get the whole thing where having an internet personality like that appeals to a section of youtube, and maybe he's a great guy in real life, but I cannot stand the man's channel. Yeah, I'm glad as well. This really makes me think that rex could be in the pipeline for 2023-2024. If they only intended to use this for cody, they could easily just have created a new mold with the visor in it, so this means that at the very least, they're keeping their options open.
