LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Thank you. All they've said is that one is in development. I guess it's possible, but AOTC is still what it's best-known from. Just a week or so out from the dark troopers set, right? Can't wait to get it. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Goat boat looks great. Love that it looks like a full-on viking ship, and that it's got all the most important characters. Gorr's weapon is interesting, for obvious reasons, but if it is what I think it is, a new mold would have been nice, but not essential. I like the goats too, always prefer brick-built creatures, and I think they were done pretty well. For $50 this is an absolute steal, if I like the film I'm definately getting the set. -

This is gonna be my last post on the subject for awhile as this is getting pretty annoying to try and spell out, but I'm going to try one last time to get the point across. These patterns DO NOT MEAN ANYTHING to lego. As @Brickroll said, it's not even really a pattern, since the first releases of each ship weren't even in the same year. And as @Kdapt-Preacher concretely proves, anniversary patterns are completely non-existent. Promobricks says they have evidence that an AT-TE may be coming this wave, but there is NO evidence for a gunship whatsoever. Could it happen? Maybe, but there is NO evidence for it, it could just as easily be an MTT, or a Falcon, or a shuttle of some sort, or any of a myriad of sets that could fill out that price point. Since you really don't like my analogy, I'll try a different one. You say there's evidence for the fighter tank because when the AT-TE and gunship released in 2008, so did the fighter tank, and they are all republic vehicles. Ok. So this would mean sets that have the same odds as the fighter tank as releasing include: anakin's delta-7, AT-AP, v-19 torrent, a mini juggarnaut, and the twilight, all of which, I would argue, are more or at least as well-known as the tx-130, since unlike that vehicle, they were all present in films or animated shows. Furthermore, a prequel-era AT-TE also released in 2003 (no other republic vehicles that year though) and 2013. In 2013, there was a clone command center, which also appeared in 2022. Other republic vehicles in 2013 included: 501st AT-RT, Z-95 headhunter, BARC speeder with sidecar, and mini republic frigate. Again, all of these are as or more well-known as the tx-130, having appeared in films or animated shows. Do you get my point? There's no evidence for a gunship, but sure, it could happen. The TX-130, on the other hand, is nothing more than wishlisting. Completely agree, I think the AT-TE is likely for this summer, and that the gunship is not. -

Technically the 2016 one, but I'll grant that it's not really the same. On the other hand, these "patterns" aren't really a thing. I remember last year everyone used the exact same logic for the MTT, and that didn't turn out well. Some others would be the standard, base OT x-wing (2006, 2012, 2018, 2021 breaks pattern), AT-AT (releasing roughly every 3.5 years and then having a 6 year gap between august 2014 and 2020), Vulture droid (appears packaged with a republic ship in 2005, 2007, 2009, and then doesn't show up until 2014, where it's by itself), ETA-2 (2012, 2014, 2016, none in 2018), and probably a lot more I'm missing. And I'm not sure that my analogy is "really dumb". As you say, they are certainly all republic vehicles. The TIE crawler, Lambda, and TIE fighter are all imperial vehicles, though, so the analogy seems pretty accurate. Not to mention that the whole "but it released in the same year as the gunship and AT-TE" is somewhat dampened by it's subsequent release in 2017, a year noticeably lacking of the other two vehicles. TLDR the evidence for a gunship based on an AT-TE being in development is weak, but the idea of a tx-130 coming with them this wave is downright ridiculous. -

Dude, there are absolutely 0 concrete rumors of a gunship. The only reason people have been saying that is because promobricks says there's an AT-TE in development (They don't even know if it's coming this wave), and then speculated that IF an at-te is coming in the summer, there must also be a gunship. They have no evidence the gunship is coming aside from their knowledge that the AT-TE is somewhere in development. Not to mention that even if we knew the at-te was coming this wave, and even if there was a gunship coming alongside it, the tx-130 isn't in attack of the clones, and neither are the figures it was supposed to come with, so the correlation would be like saying that because lego did a TIE fighter and lambda in early 2021, a TIE crawler must be coming. -

It's been pretty well established at this point that the leak was very much fake. This is what I want to do as well, but between boba, fennec, and the parts for the throne, just spending the $80 at costco might be cheaper than buying the figs and parts online. Maybe I'll sell some of the aliens to get some money back. Would you recommend it, then? I do want the throne but I'm trying not to spend too much on lego this year, and I'm definately getting the BD-1 and hypothetical AT-TE. This is a complete sidebar but dear god the eternals sets (ones with that hair part) sold so spectacularly poorly. My local target's got em nearing 50% off, which is UNHEARD OF for lego around here. There is a quite nice looking one of a big red transformer-looking fellow I've got my eye on, though, waiting to see how low they'll take it's price. I agree that it works for the Bad Batch hair better than the live-action. I do wish we got a new mold, as I think her hair's pretty unique, but it's better than nothing. I think a standard minifig with new head mold would be best (I don't like specialized molds where they can be avoided, but I know this is unpopular here at least with regards to stuff like the rancor and dewback), but I have so much nostalgia for that game that if they just released a figure based on the 2005 game model I'd be happy enough. Welcome! Always great to see new members! -

I think it's got to be either this or endor, I'd say 60-35-5 odds in favor of it being the death star, endor, or something else. Lego did multiple hoth sets in late 2021/early 2022. Lego did multiple ANH sets in january 2021.. There were multiple tatooine sets in january 2020, and some ROTS ships in august 2020. There were some sizable ROTS sets in 2019 as well. Going farther back, Lego's last big geonosis wave was in 2013. Unless lego was a big fan of the 42nd anniversary of ESB, 44th of ANH, 15th and 14th of ROTS, etc, those sets weren't tied to anniversaries. Now it's entirely possible that they've decided to do anniversary sets for AOTC, my point is that there's not really a historical case for that. The only time we've gotten anniversary sets for a SW film has been for ESB. The fact that promobricks says it's in development rather than saying directly it's one of the august sets is pretty good evidence to me that they don't know if it's an august wave set or not. We don't usually hear about sets "in development", usually it's just "this set is part of x wave" or "this set is coming in xhy (year)". Seeing as this type of thing very rarely happens (I can't think of another example off the top of my head, we usually know the set numbers/release dates first and the names second, not the other way around), what makes you think it's "too early" to know one is in development if we don't have prior examples, and you know how long sets take to design? Again, I'm not saying we won't get an AT-TE this year, I just don't think it's a given for august at all, and less likely still that it's being made for the anniversary. -

Did they say it was for an anniversary, or were they just speculating? I thought the only information they actually said they had was that they knew one was in development, not even if it was one of the 2022 sets. It's been 9 years since the last real at-te (if you want to be a pedant, 6), and even if it's not from the most popular film it's well-known enough of a vehicle. Plus, it's pretty clear that lego doesn't like making many sets for new shows at first, preferring to wait. Also, lego designs sets well in advance of release. Baby Yoda sets are a good example, as they were no doubt rushed in development and yet even the brickheadz, something that's definately much quicker to design than an AT-TE, took almost a year. -
DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
No offense, this isn't going to do anything. First off, because not enough people are going to sign it for it to be "presented to lego", but secondly, because if non-batman sets sold well, we'd have more non-batman sets. Lego does there own market research, and apparently batman sets sell the best by far. This isn't even a "well lego maybe just doesn't realize" situation, because it's not like we've never had substantial numbers of non-batman sets. There've been scatterings of non-batman stuff throughout the last decade, and, well, most of them haven't sold all that great. -

That's a much better price than $100. Maybe I'll get one. Lego doesn't celebrate SW film anniversaries, with the exception of ESB for some reason (Not that I'm complaining, ESB is the best one :D), so I don't think the anniversary of AOTC really has...any input on the set's release. -

I think it'll be red too. Using an alternate color scheme in a set based of TboBF is nice, but if the fallen order bd-1 is blue, that'd be absurd. I like the customization features of the game, but canonically Bd-1 is white with red, Cal has a blue lightsaber, and the mantis is navy blue. I always thought the mando fighter was $70...maybe I'll get one, $60 is a better price for it. The N-1 should have been $50, inflation would just about cancel out the side builds of the 2015 set. Not a single one. -

Yeah, and the scomp link and processing units too! Honestly the set is so overpriced it's crazy. I thought the grievous starfighter did poorly, did it really sell well enough lego thought it a net profit gain to do this? We know a BD-1 set is coming, but c'mon, a mantis would sell like hotcakes. I made a Zeffo temple set awhile back as a prototype for how lego could make fallen order sets, and it helped me see how much playability they could fit into a FO playset between wall-running, force pushing/pulling, rope swinging, hidden chests, etc. (My prototypes are in spoiler just for space reasons: -

...Welp, unfortunately not. I have Mod approval! . That said, it'd be remiss if I didn't immediately follow this up by ostracizing myself to everyone with my opinion that Solo is severely underrated and the 5th best SW film (sixth if you count Siege of Mandalore as a film) That starfighter ain't it, chief. It honestly seems to me as if lego started building this just after the episode premiered. I love the in-universe ship, but this is a ROUGH design. It focuses too much on the greebles to the point that it seems much less sleek, the color mismatch is weird (I'm not saying it needed to be entirely silver, but the mocs have shown there are much better coloration solutions), and it really just seems flat and ugly. The figures aren't great either. Beskar Mando and Baby Yoda are fine, but c'mon, give the darksaber a new mold, or at least use the katana piece. Pelli is not great, either. Her hair is fine, but her head looks weird and her jumpsuit always seemed dark red to me, not brown. I will say, though, the BD-unit is awesome, and I can't wait for the BD-1 set. -

I mean, technically it's a two-seater, but yeah, it seems like the PPP won't be great for this fighter. Maybe if they use a lot of flat silver or drumlaquered silver it'll be worth it, but I can't see this being anything but LBG. Doesn't mean it can't be a good set, and honestly it's not THAT overpriced compared to some of the stuff we get nowadays, but it's still not great pricing. I don't want to get too off-topic so I'll put everything in a spoiler to stop it from taking up too much of the page (and also because of spoilers). This is all my opinion, of course: ...no? The set is 100% based on fallen order. All the BD Unit appearing in the starfighter set means is that lego found a way to use the mold in multiple sets to further justify the cost. Speaking of the BD-1 set, though, I do wonder about customization. Parts for multiple color schemes is unlikely, but it would be cool if the little upgrades he gets throughout the game were modular segments you could add or remove. -

Ongoing Transformers Rumors and Discussion

Man, I hope this is true. Clearly the whole hasbro thing makes it far-fetched, but it would be such an amazing set. I don't follow transformers too closely, but I always loved Optimus Prime's design and character, and if they really pull it off, they've got a purchase from me. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
To be fair, it's not like transformers came into existence the same time as no way home. Considering it's a hasbro property, this has likely been in the works for well over a year, as opposed to the 2 months lego has had to get us sets with the friendly neighborhood and amazing spider-men. Make no mistake, they will make these sets, this is essentially a repeat of the baby yoda situation from late 2019/early 2020, where the character was kept secret, immensely popular, and they had to speed-produce sets. It was delayed too late in the game, the products for the film are getting released in a few months despite the delay. Werewolf by Night is still disney+ and I can't see it being all that kid-friendly either, so even if MK is in it, I don't think it'll get us a fig of that beautiful, beautiful suit. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'll throw out some suggestions for qoute sets: TPM: I'll be honest, since the opening scene and duel of the fates were already suggested, there's nothing else I can think of that'd actually work. AOTC: Geonosis duel: Geonosis hanger with Yoda and Dooku. Qoute is "much to learn you still have" TCW: Ahsoka leaves: Jedi Temple pillars with Ahsoka and Anakin. Qoute is: "I understand. More than you realize, I understand wanting to walk away from the order" Revenge of the sith: Again "you were my brother, anakin" was already suggested. How about: Vader's transformation: Transformation chamber with Vader, palpatine, and some droids. Qoute is "NOOOOOOO" Solo: Beckett vs Han: The rocky beach area with Han, Beckett, and Chewie. Qoute is "That was a smart move kid..." Rebels: Ezra's destiny: The star destroyer bridge with Purgill tentacles. Comes with Ezra, Thrawn, and 2 stormtroopers. Qoute is: "I have to see this through to the end" RO: Chirrut's stand: The Scarif beach with the master switch. Comes with Chirrut, 2 stormtroopers, and 2 shoretroopers. Qoute is "I am one with the force. The force is with me" ANH: Medal ceremony: Yavin throne room with Luke, Leia, Chewie, Han, and two honor guardsmen. Qoute is Chewbacca's final "RRRRRRRRR", the last line in the film ESB: Falcon Cockpit: fully minifig scale millenium falcon cockpit with Han, Leia, C-3PO, and Chewie. The qoute is "I've got a bad feeling about this" ROTJ: Endor Celebration: Some of the ewok village with Luke and ghosts of Anakin, Yoda, and Ben. Qoute is "may the force be with you", which isn't entirely accurate as there was no dialogue in that scene, but since the last spoken line is "it's not like that, he's my brother" (Or "yub nub" if you count that), I thought it'd be better to just qoute one of the series mainstay lines that sums up the message of the scene. The Mandalorian: A friend: The Arquitens bridge with R2, Luke, Grogu, and Din. Qoute is: "I'll see you again. I promise" The Book of Boba Fett: TFA: Han's noble end: The starkiller catwalk with Han and Kylo. Qoute is "I know what I have to do but I don't know if I have the strength to do it" TLJ: Crait duel: Crait terrain with Luke and Kylo. Qoute is "see you around, kid" TROS: Final battle: Sith throne build with Reborn Palpatine, Rey, and Ben. Qoute is "And I...am all the jedi" Saga-wide: Tatooine homestead (I actually built this one and bought the parts, just have to figure out how to make a decal to get the qoute onto the 2x6 tile): The skywalker hut with the little step thing Luke looks out at. There's a hidden opening in the wall of the hut where you can put the spare figures, because the figures are EP2 anakin, EP9 Rey, and EP4 luke, with the qoute "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away". Oh, and I finished the largest set in the wave. Only one left. (Stud.io doesn't have the fleet trooper helmet in it's inventory) -

I mean, the droid (which as it turns out is from Lightyear, not star wars) was a bit hard to recognize, but Finn? It's just Finn. Not sure why he's there, though. Might be a TROS set coming, he might just be there for reference or something. It's a high quality fake. My guess is someone used pad printing or decals to get the orange bits on the clone private torso from the new accesory pack, then used a clearly fake helmet. Lego's not going to make a helmet QUITE that oversized, and they aren't going to miss the rank insignia on the printing if they were to make one of these figures. "Jar Jar is the key to everything" -
Star Wars TIE Fighter collection MOC
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Because I forgot it existed. Looking at it, it's a solid set, but it builds the wings more like the TIE striker set with a grey plate sandwiched between black plates, wheres I tried to do the solo style of having the grey edges with SNOT bricks. The bomber 100% is, I've built and swooshed it around, and it hasn't broken off at all. The interceptor, though, isn't nearly as stable. I haven't built the advanced IRL so I don't know, but if I had to guess I'd say it's similar to the stability of the bomber. -

The source said they didn't know if it was brick-built or a new mold...and there've definately been times that a new mold is exclusive to one set. If anything, a molded BD-1 would be more indicative of I'd love to be wrong, but I don't think it's indicative of a BD mold appearing in a set based on another medium besides fallen order. The rumor is that it's Obi-Wan's delta 7 with a kaminoan. -

Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's a weequay I think, based off the scene. To be fair, not only did they do a massive push for rebels, like nearly 10 sets in january 2015 alone (contributing to why they're so timid about making animated sets now), but apparently the gunship was supposed to feature more prominently, like the scout walker crawler in TLJ, and ended up being almost entirely cut. This is something I doubt was in the works before BB, MUCH more expensive, and as a result of stuff like the wookie gunship, they're much more worried about making animated sets. Just seems weird is all. Not his ship. Love Cad Bane, not paying $160 for a ship from one episode of a show because he's in it. You think a kid's gonna do that? Now I could be totally wrong, as lego's done weird stuff in the past, but it's pretty rare at this price point. You put together the relative obscurity of the ship, the cost of the set, the size of the ship, lego's hesitation around animated sets, and it just seems really unlikely. -

Yeah, a month or two ago the rumor changed from the other figs being 2 pigs and 2 hunters to a pig, weequay, dancer, and squidguy. I think it was when the squid and dancer figures leaked online. BoBF finale was alright, but it's got a great set that can be made from it. You know the one. As for the rumored sets: Starfighter for $30 is rough if it's a delta-7, kaminoan figure nonwithstanding. I'm very happy there's a new AT-TE and it's $100 if true. I'll probably get this. EDIT: Forgot about BD-1, that's an S-TIER set and I'm 100% getting it, so we'll see if the AT-TE is good enough to warrant getting a second big set. Even if the BD-1 set has no figures, as long as the build is solid, it'll be an incredible set. Cad bane's ship is...an interesting choice. To have a set based off a ship from bad batch, with not too much screen time, and one that really doesn't need to be that big (I mean seriously, this could have been $80) is rough. Who would it even have? Bane, Todo, Omega, and Fennec? For $160 they're gonna need more figures than that. I almost wonder if promobricks got fed bad info from someone, maybe became victims of that new leak-stopper lego hired. Cad bane's ship is just such an odd choice that goes against what lego tends to do (being from an animated series, which lego tries to be VERY cautious about), and why do we know there's a kaminoan in the delta, but nothing about any of the other figures in any set? That seems suspicious.
